Only a year to go. Not really enough time to do anything particularly impressive unless they've been planning it for a long time and they start construction immediately. Even then they'd be struggling.

I completely agree with the last post. Frankly they might as well play the last post all day in what's left of poor old Sea World. Presumably they have found some sort of potential safety issue with Vikings Revenge. If so then maybe it has to go, but now more than ever they seriously need a proper investment program.

Disneyland Australia; will it EVER happen?
pushbutton replied to SunshineTom's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Personally I would really love it if Merlin were to buy Dreamworld. I know from having been to Alton Towers that their standards are extremely high. Probably as good as Disney or close enough. However their parks are less aimed at little kids compared to Disney. They really appeal to all ages. -

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney is seriously considering making an offer to buy Dreamworld. Obviously there'd be a lot of work to do on it, but they'd basically have a functioning park to start with, and Ardent have said recently they'd be happy to consider a really good offer. It would get around issues like there already being enough parks in the gold coast and avoid them having to find suitable land and start from scratch. I think if it's gonna happen anytime in the next 20 years that's the most likely way it would. -
Future Attractions in Australia

Some really great ideas there. I'd love that, although I fear they'd make it a pay attraction (which to my way of thinking goes against the whole point of theme parks). -
Future Attractions in Australia

True perhaps, but I believe there's been at least a couple of big movies shot in the last year or so that were nothing to do with DC Comics. Pirates of the Caribean was one if I'm not mistaken. -

Movie World In my opinion Movie World should really focus all its investments on making it into more of, well, a movie world! Currently there's far too much emphasis on DC comic related characters, and besides that there's not all that much to really make you feel you're in a world of movies. There was when it first opened, and I'd like to see that return. Needs to be a good mix of all movie genres. Sea World Hardly any rides now unless you're under 10 years of age. Rides should obviously have a sea related theme. I really miss Bermuda Triangle (which in my opinion was the best ride in Australia by a long way), and I also miss the chairlifts. Dreamworld I never really explored Dreamworld until I moved to Queensland, mainly because I always just got the Village pass and couldn't afford entry to Dreamworld as well. However I had assumed Dreamworld was (at risk of repeating what I said about Movie World) like being in a world of dreams! Sadly, it's more like a fairground for the most part, although the animals do give it another side, but it's still not a dream world. So I'd love to see some amazing attractions at Dreamworld (and they don't all have to be rides) which take you into a world of fantasy and dreams. There are too many possibilities for me to try to describe them all here now, but it just takes imagination! -
I didn't live in Yorkshire, but I wasn't too far away!

I don't know if you meant that as a joke, or if you meant that you had to walk 5 miles in the snow when you were at school. Either way, the answer is actually yes (almost). I went to school in Northern England, and occasionally in the winter it was snowing, however the distance from my house to my school was about 2 miles, not 5.

When I was at school you didn't get rewarded for good attendance. You went to school every day. It was just a given. However there were certainly punishments if you didn't attend!

I agree 100%! My only real complaint with Wet&Wild is the $10 charge for the lockers. I have an unlimited membership, and I would expect to be able to visit all the parks at no additional cost. I can do so for thenon-waterparks, but at both Wet&Wild and Whitewater World there is effectively a fee of $10 each time I visit. This does weigh heavily into my decision on which park to visit each time. I understand that if lockers were free it could potentially mean there wouldn't be any available sometimes, but why can't they just have a deposit which is refunded when you end the locker hire. I also find it very inconvenient having to queue in the shop for a wristband every time. Surely the wristbands could be issued by a vending machine in the locker areas.

Dreamworld Memorial & Reopening discussion

Keep in mind we've already been told by someone who I believe is a very reliable source that there were plans to redevelop the Gold Rush area of Dreamworld. Those plans existed long before the recent incident. I'm referring to a comment in the thread below: http://www.parkz.com.au/forums/topic/7223-dreamworld-qa/ This might just mean they happen sooner than they had planned. -

Awesome ideas. Absolutely fantastic and would certainly add a whole new level of interest and fun to the park. -
Thunder River Rapids incident at Dreamworld
pushbutton replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
How absolutely tragic. Thunder river rapids is my favourite ride at Dreamworld, and I thought it was one of if not the safest ride. I will be very interested to hear what caused this, and what the outcome will be for the ride. I thought the incident last year on Green Lantern was as bad as it could get. My deepest sympathy to all involved. -
New logo looks much better to me. I always found the two wolves / wild dogs quite out of place. Interesting that the Whitewater World website now has the Dreamworld logo at the top, and no logo at all for Whitewater World.

Just came across this link on Facebook. Looks like it will give us another reason to make the trip to the sunshine coast! http://www.ausparks.com.au/2016/10/aussie-world-open-permanent-haunt-maze/

I'm seeing ads on Facebook saying "last chance" to purchase unlimited membership. Seems odd how it has been available for two relatively short periods. To me "last chance" infers it may not be available again after this. Not sure what's going on!

I hope the hotel is well themed, maybe something like Splash Landings hotel at Alton Towers.- 499 replies

I just want to say that the current show "High Country Legends" is absolutely perfect in my opinion. I've never seen any of the previous shows so can't compare them to the current one. I simply hope the next show is as good as the current one. Who knows, maybe it will be even better (although I honestly can't imagine how)! I've seen it something like 10 times and will be seeing it again a few more times before it finishes.

Doomsday Destroyer - reviews and feedback
pushbutton replied to Theme Park Girl's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Since so much time at theme parks is spent queuing, it would be wonderful if each ride had a few of these interactive characters / scenarios in its queue line (with the characters being relevant to the ride they're at). If done well, queuing could be cool! -

In my ever increasing cynicism, I might have jumped the gun! I didn't think it would be for unlimited use. I assumed it was for the day. If it's unlimited I'll be buying one next weekend! Agreed. If it's for unlimited use no problem! -

I went back again yesterday and unfortunately you can no longer use any of the supervilian attractions unless you BUY a wristband! Oh well. It was good while it lasted! Hopefully once it's all paid for they'll make it free, as they did with the high ropes course at sea world. In the meantime, it's just somewhere you can watch rich tourists having fun. -
