  1. How about "Blown Away" as a better name for the ride. That's a freebie, in case anyone at Dreamworld is looking, (although I wouldn't say no to a free annual pass, and one for MickeyD too for the inspiration)!
  2. The wristbands on the activities around DD have been replaced with these cards. However, as at 12.30pm both the DD shop and the Scooby-Doo shop are closed!
  3. Although the name "Tower of Terror" doesn't offend me personally, I'm very surprised Dreamworld are content to still have that word associated with the park in any way. Whilst I actually do find the ride a bit of a thrill, I completely agree with previous comments that the noise is horrendous, and it tears the park in half physically. It's got to go!
  4. Well, they didn't go overboard with the themeing on that one!
  5. I've been it is as both and much, much prefer it as it is now. Just my opinion, but you can do laser tag in lots of places outside theme parks.
  6. Kevil Hill is the best attraction at Dreamworld as far as I'm concerned, and will be at least until the new flying theatre opens.
  7. Looking at the new websites for Sea World and Movie World, as soon as you click on the menu bar (blue lines right side on home page) you are presented with the menus pictured below. Movie World has "Attractions" as the first option. On the Sea World site, it's not even visible until you drill down further in the menu. Instead, you first see "Marine Park", "Resort", Tours", and "Conservation". To me this is clear evidence that VRTP no longer see Sea World as primarily a theme park. Rather, it's a marine park that just happens to have a few rides also as a bonus. Very sad, considering how awesome it used to be.
  8. My experience riding it several times since it reopened a couple of weeks ago give me the impression it's really not being looked after. Both of the lift hills are making a loud creaking noise, and most of the effects are either not working, or working poorly. In my experience, these things are usually indicators that the attraction is being wound down and likely to be retired soon.
  9. Arkham Asylum is by far the most immersive themed ride in Australia. Not sure how much it cost to install the VR but I imagine it was quite significant, and that was only about 2 years ago. I agree the ride is physically quite uncomfortable though. Not sure if that can be improved.
  10. That's a huge part of it for me. I don't like that throughout all the Village parks, the Village branding is now so visible. It's not only the staff uniforms, but also things like the passes and carrier bags have it very clearly visible too. It's a cost-cutting measure that's far too obvious to the average guest. All the parks can and should have their own unique branding, but especially Movie World where the whole point of visiting the park is supposed to be about being immersed in the magic of movies.
  11. 1. Wild West Falls - Movie World 2. Monorail - Sea World 3. Justice League - Movie World Those are just my guesses, based on their age and condition. I don't have any others to add at the moment.
  12. So this is a normal visit to Movie World for you?
  13. Well that confirms it then. As I said earlier, a great idea (even if not original).
  14. The guy stands directly under a large water pipe and does something (not sure what) for at least 5 minutes. The pipe should be a very good clue that he might get wet. If a plant I'm not sure why he'd play with his phone. Afterwards he was escorted out of the stadium by two staff, presumably advising him to go to guest services about his phone I suppose. Could be a plant though maybe. If I see or hear about the same thing happening again, probably a plant. That would actually be quite good!
  15. Saw the Seal Guardians show for the first time today. Thought I should see it for myself before judging. I have to say it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Mildly amusing, and does serve as a valuable but not too boring educational tool too, mainly for kids (although I'm sure they get more than enough of the same message at school). The guy getting wet at the end drew quite a few laughs, but the idiotic moron was playing with his phone and it did get wet (exactly like the scenario I've read about on this forum previously). As you may be able to guess, I have no sympathy with people who are so adicted to their phones they even use them when they're participating in a show at a theme park right next to a lake. Nevertheless he was obviously very upset and this is the second time I've heard of this happening, and almost certainly it's happened more than twice I'd guess. I think they should probably just quietly ask the volunteer who is going to get wet to not use their phone. To me it's obvious and shouldn't need to be said, but it clearly does.
  16. I can honestly say I've never been so amused by so many bad puns in my life. I won't even try to compete!
  17. Oh no. These quips are getting even worse (but better)!
  18. All very good points, but at the end of the day this is something very simple, which could be fixed very easily if the right people had the will to do so. That's a major part of the solution though: Are they employing the right people? There are surely enough people out there who would genuinely enjoy doing the job with passion and a sense of fun, whilst of course still following safety rules. Are these things (passion for theme parks, and engaging, fun personality) being prioritised enough by those who do the recruiting?
