I'm at Sea World now. Just went past the old fun pool on the monorail and it all looks intact so far. Water has been drained from the pools though. I'll try to get some photos shortly.

I suppose they could be planning to re-use the Boot Hill props. Maybe as props! For example in a future Fright Nights. -

It looks the most logical place for the roller coaster. I would imagine if that's the case then the entertainment and lakeside precincts would be at the front end of the park, with access through where the old Stars Cafe / bar was. Maybe the "Worlds best" attraction will be in one of the two new precincts. -

It's loosely themed as a runaway train, but there's nothing much to it really. -
Ah well. There's plenty like it at Wet & Wild and Whitewater World! Can't wait to see what they build!

To some people anything old was always better than anything new, but ONLY once it's been removed / demolished. While it's still in operation they barely notice it. That's just the way their minds work! -

Am I the only one under the impression that with two new precincts planned, the rollercoaster will be completely separate from the "Worlds Best Theme Park Attraction"? -

I don't mind if they cost a bit. As I've said before I'd happily pay more for my annual pass to help them recoup the costs of great new rides! To me, a theme park ride is one that is: - Very well themed (obviously) - Uses a combination of special effects, live actors, animatronics, and optical illusions to make you believe (in so far as is possible) that you are actually involved in a fantastical story of some sort whilst in the attraction (note I didn't say ride, as it doesn't necessarily have to involve the guest being transported in order to be a great attraction). -

Haha! But seriously, there are so many fantastic theme park attractions that are neither Rollercoasters or Flat rides or necessarily Dark rides as such, although they may involve elements of one or more. It just takes imagination! Here's a few good examples that I love: -

Does the construction material really make a difference to the ride experience? To me a rollercoaster is a rollercoaster! -

Does anyone know why there are no documents attached to any of those applications? It would certainly help us to know what's going on. I have probably answered my own questions there. I suppose they're trying to keep the detail from their opposition! Frustrating though as I'm the sort of person who'd find those documents absolutely fascinating! -

They seem to be shoving Fright Night mazes into any tiny little spaces judging by the last 2 years! I agree though that a sound stage is obviously a much better location for one than some that have been used. Still, there are other sound stages they can still use! -

That being the case I feel better about the building coming down (assuming it is). Still would have liked to see a show in there though, but excited to see what is built. -
I think it would be a lot more comfortable to use, and safer in terms of preventing possible back injuries if you were sitting on a seat with a firm but well padded back. There is a sort of seat, but no back to it whatsoever, and therein lies the potential danger to backs.

Agreed. It would be great to see a new live action show in there. It's an excellent place to cool down and to sit down. Well, it would be if it were ever open! I suppose since it's never open they may as well demolish it, or who knows, they might be re-purposing it to house a new dark ride. If so that could potentially be awesome! -

Guess where I'll be tomorrow! -
Why on earth would it need to be in a shed??? I also don't think it would benefit from any theming either really. The whole enjoyment of it is the thrill, and the sights you'd see as you go along it. Didn't know that. Might check it out.

A new type of ride! In the Gold Coast I think it's probably best suited to somewhere like Thunderbird Park, and maybe Dreamworld could also accommodate it, perhaps in the area where the vintage cars are. Takes the already awesome concept of a Zip line to a whole new level. And another one, and another one, and another one, and another one. ...................! https://m.facebook.com/rollercoasterzipline/

Is the diesel train also still running. If not what happens to it? Personally I'd like to see both running simultaneously to reduce waiting times. Also I'd rather have a diesel train running till 5pm than a steam train but only till 4pm.

You should make the trip to Alton Towers before you leave Britain, and try the food there. Some of it's fairly standard admittedly (there's 3 Burger King outlets in the park, and 2 Pizza Huts), but there's also a great choice of higher quality options. I can recommend one of those but can't think of the name of it lol!

Similar to that in most other McDonald's. Modern and very good.

So back to the topic then. What I think we really need in all the theme parks is a McDonald's (of Annerley quality)!
