DC Rivals HyperCoaster construction discussion

I can read it fine. Have another drink Anyhow if it was to go underground I'd expect the pit do be done with the rest of the ground work and there has been no evidence of that. P.S. Drink responsibly -

If it is under 200 feet it will be disappointing given Alder are tendering for a Hyper Coaster project. If it was just a Roller Coaster project then under 200 feet would be ok but seeing as a Hyper Coaster is considered 200 feet plus I'll feel let down if it is under 200 feet. -
First class reporting there. Must have been those new invisible cherry pickers because I never saw them.

Took a few snaps today from the GL queue and car park. Looks great from the top of SE and GL -
Yeah was pretty much a non event. Ride safety systems worked as designed as @djrappa has said. We had just gotten off the ride a were walking under the lift hill when it stopped. No alarms or anything. The car on the track continued through it's run but the other was stuck at the top. They gave the people on the car at the station water and umbrellas. We went to go to Justice League but it was suffering technical difficulties so we called it a day. By the time we headed to the car park they had given umbrellas to the car at the top and then the maintenance guy took them away and made his way back down. CH7 arrived just in time to get some footage before the car was released and performed flawlessly. They ran an empty car straight after it without issue. Photos below.

Certainly seems that way. It will make one hell of a statement as you drive into the park. -

Yeah it would confirm something very tall eg a lift hill. @mattcrombie pics showed a substantial footer near GL And now this one in the car park will brace at 90 degrees to the GL footer. -
Rounding up or down is legal if the transaction was paid in cash. Receipt clearly states it is EFTPOS so no rounding should occur. From the ACCC Under the Guideline the following rounding principles apply to cash transactions: 1 & 2 cents – rounded DOWN to the nearest 10 3 & 4 cents – rounded UP to the nearest 5 6 & 7 cents – rounded DOWN to the nearest 5 8 & 9 cents – rounded UP to the nearest 10 "However the Guideline clearly stated that where a consumer elected to pay by way of cheque, credit card or EFTPOS it was unnecessary for businesses to round the total value of the transaction." I think MW have some explaining to do.

By twist at the top do you mean something like a non-inverting loop? I agree I love the launch on SE but sometimes wish for that inverted feeling. Flash has 2 inversions. Could we expect the same on this on? -

I agree with @Santa07 Whilst this a tragic accident and the victims will never be forgotten the Dreamworld family also need our support during this time and that starts with reopening and visiting the park. -

Possibly. I'd think construction time might be a bit tight but given we have pretty much agreed on a DC theme Flash and Wonder Woman are 2 of the main characters not represented. Wonder Woman would also give focus to a strong female character. I'd like to see boxes like Arkham. You see a lot of annoyed people at Superman when they realise they have to pay for a locker. -
Apparently the safety blitz has found a minor issue at Movie World "The tragedy prompted a month-long safety blitz on Queensland theme parks, which uncovered a “minor” safety matter at Movie World, Queensland Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace said." "“I am advised by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland that only one minor, non-consumer safety matter has been identified to date and this was immediately rectified.” Ms Grace did not provide any further detail about the issue." Complete article http://www.news.com.au/national/queensland/dreamworld-reopening-date-yet-to-be-announced-after-fatal-ride-decommissioned/news-story/15e36ed614a0d80708a495562ed1f5fc Whilst I welcome anything to increase patron safety I feel for the parks as any type of incident no matter how small is going to cop a media beat up.

I think 3 would be great and would be needed given this is most likely going to be the longest coaster we've seen so expect the ride time to be longer. However given what the park currently has on Superman and Arkham we could end up with 2 trains. The other question is how many cars per train 5 or 6? -
Thanks Alex Nice insight to park operations. I figured audits would be performed by a 3rd party.
-
Would it be possible this has anything to do on the governments safety blitz. If the ride was already down for maintenance could that period be extended to complete a safety audit? Does anyone know the procedure for these audits? Are they done during the daily pre-ride? Vikings Revenge is a Flume like the Log Ride and we know media bash up it copped in light of the TRRR tragedy.

@Jamberoo Fan Wow quite a detailed analysis. I too was surprised with the amount of info in the full tender package I received after seeing just the locality map and track layout. In regards to footing positions ones further away from the track would seem to indicate support for a greater height. Looking at Flash @ Lewa also by Mack Rides large supports can be seen on the right hand side and a long straight section from the station. The left doesn't show any large supports. -

@Theme Park Girl I agree with that post and in hindsight should have kept my mouth shut. Can't prove what I've said and will just have to wait for construction to continue. Why wouldn't the locations be on plans? -

@Jamberoo Fan I'd look at footing locations and track position in relation to the station. -

That looks plausible. Either way I think this is the coaster a lot of us have been waiting for. -

@Brad2912 sorry no distance mentioned. I have the full tender zip file now which I guess some other people here have and they would have read the cover letter telling them to keep quiet about the project and have done so. -

Station is further back and angled in relation to the road. I can only describe the top of the lift hill as a 90 degree right hand turn. -

@YLFATEEKS that's why I haven't posted them yet as the source of the plans just happens to be my wife. Don't want to get her into trouble. What I've seen was to exciting not to share.
