  1. I am going to MW tomorrow (technically today ?) so I'll be able to tell you wait times ect. If it's really busy we probably won't stay for long. Anyone want me to look at anything in the park while I'm there?
  2. That would be cool. Is that what you can do on Rip Ride Rockit at USF?
  3. I once saw a video about the Rivers of America @ Disneyland and the video said that they purposely made the river look a bit brown. This is so that you couldn't see the track underneath the river, and also so that you couldn't tell the river was only about 2m deep.
  4. Wild West Falls also has a long maintanence period. Do these normally go down for that long? Or does this mean they are closed for Roller Coaster construction wink wink. Hahaha
  5. Here is my 2 opinions if Dreamworld were to bring this back next summer. 1. Hire a real DJ to play Top 40 well known songs from 5pm until the first show starts. This would give Dreamworld a bit more energy & life for the night. Imagine walking through the gates for the night event and having your favourite radio tunes pumping, with maybe some lasers & smoke. When the time comes for the first show, the DJ would step down, wait for the show to conclude, then come back up and play some more songs before the second show. 2. To not hire a DJ & have the speakers play their normal tunes (which I'm assuming is what is happening?) for the night. Have the show start, have all of the amazing lights & effects. Maybe you could even add a few water fountains? Like a mini world of colour?
  6. What I'm saying is... That person does not even look a little convincing they are actually DJing. They are over exaggerating way too much. Sure there are some wireless headphones, which are needed in this case so they can dance all over the place without cords interrupting there "awesome" moves As for the dancing around part, sure some top DJ's get the crowd going by doing some stuff like standing on the table, clapping their hands, using the mic, however, this person is just going way over the top ? They should just tone it down so it's not as distracting so people can focus more on the lights & effects.
  7. Dreamworld just posted this. That DJ. Wow. Waving their hands in the air, headphones that don't even have a cord plugged into the mixer. HA! From a DJ's perspective, that is a load of rubbish ? DJ aside, the show actually looks awesome! Amazing lights & effects. Those $40 tickets with dinner is looking very tempting I might say ?. I think the extended hours is a great idea from Dreamworld. Hope they continue this next summer or even better, every school holidays.
  8. That's terrible for AW ? Totally agree. Maybe they need to start putting these around the entrance to the chairlift? ?
  9. Ahh yes very true. Those places would definetely work better if the attraction were to be at Sea World. Sea World does need more attractions, but I would rather see them put decent rides in, rather than just adding a heap of lower quality rides. QUALITY > QUANTITY in my books ?? Anyway.. I think I'm getting sidetracked from the actual title of this thread ?
  10. I agree. Flying over Australia would definetely be the option to go for, just think of all the places. - Uluru - Great Barrier Reef - Sydney Harbour etc. I feel that would be an awesome ride. ??
  11. ...So pretty much if you want 12 D's at once go right ahead ? I was watching the 'Explorer' ride for Huss and it does look quite cool. I just wonder how realistic it would feel riding it. http://youtu.be/AShhIQJSoqA
  12. Yeah, it really does make you miss Police Academy when you compare the two /:
  13. Yes! Something like that would be great. I loved riding Soarin' Over California. Simple concept, but just amazing to experience. Huss rides does look to have some crazy looking film based rides, especially that 360 degree looking one. And yes that does look like Soarin' ?? !
  14. Oh definitely not. I'm sure our parks could come up with something to suit their budget & still make it enjoyable to ride.
  15. @skeetafly How busy was the park today? I'm assuming pretty busy?
  16. Transformers is the most amazing ride I've ever ridden. It's just incredible. I'd love to see it at one of our parks but that thing costs $100 million... So yeah... ? Even The Simpsons Ride costs $40 million. This is with theming, demolition/replacing old ride etc. So depending on how & where they would put it, maybe a little bit less, but still quite a lot of money $$!
  17. Miss Kay's + The Doughnut Bar? haha I love a good burger too! I've tried a lot of places and so far my favourite was Chur Burger in the Valley It's a shame our parks don't have the best burgers, I would definetly pay $10 - $15 for just a burger at a park if it were the quality of those I've had at various burger joints. Add chips (with sauce) & a drink then I would consider paying $20 - $25. But for now, it just really isn't worth it ?
  18. If I can recall the last time I rode, I think the over-the-shoulder seat belts are gone now! Can anyone confirm this or am I just going crazy? ?
  19. To be honest, there are a lot of DJ's I know that don't deserve to be getting paid as much as they do. Some definitely put in the hard work, but some are honestly just crap and shouldn't be taking the spot of someone who has worked so hard for it! Most of it is publicity, if you get your name out there you will be booked at various venues just because you have that name. It's stupid & I don't agree with it but hey, that's life. You've just gotta keep working hard until the hard work pays off
  20. Yes, sorry I forgot to mention that haha. That's why I was so intrigued about the DJ I remember riding Tatsu and I think that had a vest harness on it? Obviously a totally different ride, but I remember it being quite comfortable actually. ? Are these kind of in a way similar to the new trains?
  21. Very true! I also get $50 an hour aswell, so it is great money! It's just what people don't see is where all the hard work comes in.
  22. I just checked the Dreamworld website & they do have a real DJ. I just don't get why he only is up there for the show & why he doesn't play from say 5-9 with the exception of stopping for the show? He is literally getting paid to do nothing then ? Sounds like Justin Bieber... Anyway I think I'm looking too much into this anyway ? The show is mainly about all of the lasers, lights & effects. If the show is amazing then I can't complain really!
  23. Okay, so I can confirm.. not a real DJ ? Might be just an employee up there pretending to be one. The way that the show seems to be is that all of the lights & everything goes to the music? This means if the DJ is out of time or stuffs up (which happens from time to time), the whole show is ruined! I don't think they would take the risk of that happening hahaha
  24. Back on topic.. My original question was, How much do you think they would be spending on this new 'World Best' ride? My guess is 15-20? Given they don't have to demolish much.. if anything? Where is the likely location anyway?
