This post have been doing rounds on Facebook: WARNING TO ANYONE GOING TO THEME PARKS over Christmas!!!!! This is a pretty sensitive post and I still am a bit shaky typing it, but it was an eye opener and brought home a reality today at Movie World to trust NO-ONE. We witnessed an attempted child abduction, in bright sunlight, with many adults by and no protocol in place. Mum and Scarlett were in the line for a kids car ride in a shed. I was sitting by the glass door watching. Scarlett was next on the ride and I saw a man jump the glass fence when the ride finished. Without realising, I didn't see him exit but you see some strange things and thought nothing of it as was getting ready to film Scarlett. Two little kids came out and then a Mother started screaming and running looking frantically for her son, who had not come off the ride by the exit. I overheard the young daughter say to the Mum that "the indian man we have been speaking to helped him out". I saw that Mother's whole life crash before and the look of pure fear washed over her. I ran over and we called security to help. This is the scariest part, Movie World had no systems in place for this! The staff were slow and unsure what to do, apart from call security. The poor Mum was in absolute shock, so I told her to show them a picture, get descriptions over the radio fast and close the park and call the police. One of the workers said, " What are you a copper?" And I yelled back "He's 3! This is too suss!" The Mum dropped to the floor and started praying to God. By the time the security arrived, other parents started searching too and then we got the call 10 mins of frantic searching he was found. The worst part, 50 metres from the exit, metres from us with the same man that jumped the fence. The same man who had preened them all day. The boy was returned to the Mother. It appears he jumped the glass door, took him through a back exit and was headed out the park. I believe reports are being followed up etc. Such a warning to anyone in care of kids. I haven't ever experienced something so close to home that has scared me to the core!

When I saw the animation on the POV’s on YouTube I immediately thought of this video, it’s animation is on par 😂 -
They have been running a story all morning about Dreamworld and SkyVoygaer on Sunrise. https://au.news.yahoo.com/dreamworld-set-open-17m-ride-202955493.html

Like many major events (concerts, theatre, sporting etc.) they probably stagger release the tickets, so they may appear to be sold out earlier on - however new tickets are released closer to the event.

I just redeemed mine this morning for tomorrow night.

Also just noticed that the kids riding are dressed as Velma, Shaggy, Fred and Daphne. A nice touch from the marketing team 😜. -

this photo is from ParkChat, is this not Scooby Doo’s hand in the suit of armour. So maybe he is still there? -

@Jamberoo Fan I think you need to attend the show before making these sort of comments/judgements on it. “outback” is still the best world to use for the overall feel of the evening. Changing it to just “Australian Spectacular” is way too broad, and “Australian Cattle Station Spectacular” doesn’t have the same ring to it. -

I disagree with needing to change the name, most of the previous shows had very little to do with the “outback”, the title of the individual shows demonstrate that. The whole “High Country Legends” is set in the high country mountains and had nothing to do with the actual outback. -

The barcode scanner things were already bunched in the corner when it was a shop, they didn’t see the need to spend extra $$ just to spread them out, simple explanation.

Meanwhile our parks are winning prizes for designing a hat 😅

Noticed a new TV commercial this afternoon advertising the Village Roadshow Passes which mentioned a new Aquaman Exhibition coming to Movie World in December. I wonder if it will be a studio soundstage tour, similar to the Narnia exhibition, or whether it will be housed somewhere in the park itself. from the website: Dive into the underwater world of Aquaman this December! Go behind the scenes of the block buster motion picture then explore amazingly crafted set pieces and beautifully elaborate props that brought the film to life! The Aquaman Exhibition is coming soon exclusively to Warner Bros. Movie World for the very first time.

Heres a slightly better mock up of my idea, obviously the right side would have to be done as well to keep it symmetrical. I don’t it would cost too much to implement and I think it makes a big difference. -

This is a standard clause for all live performances, I don’t see the issue? -

Even Universal doesn’t try to hide the whole show building, it’s all about perspective. Perhaps they could continue the Stonework half-way up the soundstage, and incorporate the pillars that hold the posters as part of the castle, and paint the top half “sky blue”. -

I think it would be great if they had some info in the queue letting people know that movie was filmed on site at the studios, a lot of non-locals don’t seem to know this. I’m sure they could also get some of the original costumes/props or even make replicas and put them on display in the queue for people to look at. -
Kind of like Dreamworld then.

Have you seen videos of Mystic Manor, that’s a great example of what projection mapping can do when combined with physical props. -
Sure, let’s build a WB world inside WB World, oh wait they already did with the Junior Driving School.
