  1. yes the globe moves, the link bellow is from the dream world FB page, showing the globe spinning (with some of the cast from Strictly Ballroom the Musical). The support beams are not visible when people are standing in front for a photo, so it isn't a big deal really. https://www.facebook.com/dreamworld/videos/vb.30639128612/10153250887618613/?type=2& Fountains wouln't require a fence around them unless they are a certain depth. As DW fountain is shallow and built up from the ground not into it, so no fence is needed. The globe however has the stage leading to it which would create a drop into the fountain, which is why there is need for a fence.
  2. I have no issue with corporate sponsorship when it is done well and fits the theme of the ride. Honda is a very obvious choice for the Moto-Coaster. Disneyland has been doing this for years, since day one if I'm not mistaken.
  3. To be fair it doesn't appear to be finished, so it could look a lot better by opening.
  4. As a business VRTP wouldn't be charging such a low price if it wasn't beneficial to them. I know that I have personally spent a lot more money in the parks since the introduction of the cheap passes. Before the passes I would only visit one of the parks probably every 3 years or so, so they would only be getting ~$75(day pass entry) + ~$50(spending in the park) = ~$125 out of me every 3 years. Now every year for the past 3 years I have bought a year pass. Even if the passes had been $75 every year that's $225 just on passes in 3 years (Already VRTP has gotten an extra $100 out of me they wouldn't have normally), this isn't taking into account the extra food and merchandise I have purchased over the years, and due to the low entry cost I have been more inclined to purchase up-charges like animal encounters which I would not have done with a standard day pass in years gone. I know this story is same for the 6 people living in my house and I would say is the same for hundreds of other locals.
  5. Sea world has stated that the attraction will feature animals from the past and present as well as mythical sea creatures (such as the Kraken).
  6. Here is the latest (April 9th) Nearmap image of the Creatures from the deep construction zone.
  7. Micechat barely mentioned it in there latest trip report, got a whole one sentence regarding it lol. http://micechat.com/96050-sleeping-beauty-castle-disneyland/
  8. They are doing a refurb of the facade of It's a Small Ride in prep for the 60th anniversary celebrations in May.
  9. It would all come down to public broadcast issues, and Movie World would therefore have to pay broadcast fees each time the movie is played or for each episode shown throughout the day.
  10. They could get rid of the moat and extend the enclosure all the way to the footpath and use a glass fenced enclosure (like Australia zoo). This would greatly increase the size of the exhibit and improve the viewing.
  11. Just new dialogue for the presenter and new music, the "tricks" will be reworked into a new order.
  12. While this may be slightly off topic I was browsing Nearmap today for any updates (no new images), and was looking at the property boundaries of the parks and was surprised to see the Dreamworld property boundries (see orange boundary on image below). According to Nearmap the land was subdivided back in 2012 with a large part of the land now a separate lot. Most of Dreamworld's spare land is up behind overflow car-park and the eucalyptus tree farm for the koala's out the back near the vintage cars.
  13. No, from the very first episode of Big Brother it always ended with the tagline "Dreamworld the home of Big Brother", even showing a helicopter shot of the house in relation to the park. That's true, I remember one of the series, they edited the evictions to make it seem like the house lead directly onto the stage through a revolving door. I know that when channel 9 took over they were open to holding it elsewhere but ultimately chose Dreamworld because of Government contributions to TV shows filmed here in Queensland and the fact that Dreamworld already had purpose built facilities on site. It was also said that Movie World, Luna Park and Fox Studios Sydney all put in "bids" to hold the show.
  14. How do we know that the superman figures haven't been replaced a few times over the coasters life?
  15. Although ratings are low on Big Brother I doubt it will be going anywhere soon. The ratings are consistent and the show targets the key demographics of a younger audience which is highly sought after in advertising, and Big Brother has been in the top 2 programs for this key demographic almost every night it has aired.
  16. Impact Multimedia created the animated Storm coaster for Sea World's advertising campaign.
  17. Aussie World hasn't had its images updated since September 1, so not much to see there in terms of changes.
  18. Nearmaps have just updated their maps, with the latest images from 6th October. I'll add a few things I've noticed from around the parks, any requests let me know. A lot of resurfacing work has been going on at Seaworld, the floor of Ray Reef is new, they trimmed back the large tree, also notice the flume pool is now painted blue. Here is the vacant land left from the Sea Viper Wet n Wild Jnr. New shade structures at the wave pool, also new updated colours at wet n wild enterance. The newly updated Ocean Parade at Dreamworld, with the Tailspin and refreshed Wipeout. The Triple Vortex
  19. Epcot in no way has a lack of visitors it is the second most visited park in Florida behind only the Magic Kingdom, and third overall in the U.S (behind Magic Kingdom & Disneyland).
  20. It is replacing the indoor part of dinosaur island.
  21. Considering the Village Roadshow Soundstages at Movie World will be hosting the boxing events I think it would be a great time to add a major new investment to the park.
  22. That's what I meant, they added it then, but sales dropped as a result, but they won't go back to the old formula so that we remain 'uniform' with the rest of the world.
  23. Mountain Dew Code Red was never intended to be a standard line, Schweppes often release variants of different drinks every now and then for marketing campaigns. Pepsi Max is Schweppes best selling drink flavour, even out selling standard Pepsi, Mountain Dew is actually a rather poor performer in terms of sales, and last year when Mountain Dew had caffeine added in Australia, sales actually dipped further, but Asahi (The Japanese Owners of Shweppes/Pespsi Australia), want the range to be "standard" worldwide, and Australia was one of the only countries selling Mountain Dew without caffeine as standard.
  24. The amount of useless posts from people just driving past the parks and maybe seeing something from the highway is getting ridiculous, I can confirm that.
  25. Speaking of Dr Pepper, Schweppes Australiia holds the Australian rights to Dr Pepper and Pepsi, but I would hold my breath to see it return to general sale in Aus, there just wasn't a big enough market for it. The Dr Pepper you see at Coles and a few other places is parallel importerted stock.
