Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013
JacobSibbald replied to alex_1's topic in Theme Park Discussion
That image of the shipping container over the track, does it look like that could be either the attraction queue, a viewing window or possibly even photos? -
The Sea World's in the US don't necessarily rescue the animals and then keep them in captivity which is what I don't like. They are just about making a profit with disregard to the saving of animals, they are just making people aware of the animals. On the other hand, Sea World on the Gold Coast is a conservation and animal rescue group that knows when an animal must stay in captivity in order to survive. This way they can still make a profit whilst keeping needy animals alive. Overall, Sea World US have it completely wrong :D

yes the parks are open during the day, they close at normal time and then get ready for Fright Nights following closing. If you go on a weekday lines should be pretty manageable, have fun
-
Whilst I really wish Sea World could get all the rides, where in the world are they going to find space to put them? I know they are your wishes and I'm not going to stop you, I have some of theme parks that get pretty detailed I just think it's a little unrealistic

Adventure World New Coaster - Abyss
JacobSibbald replied to colliric_855's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Adventure World's terrible reply to someone stating that "It's a copy of SAW from America" in which I corrected them "England" SAW was built in 2009 so "replica" noooo, "similar" "better" probably! Well at least it isn't just a copy Who cares when it was built though! -

Have to agree with you, me and only a couple of others on the site and in Australia (my age) would know what it was. That is how PR is, it shit's me. What shits me even more is that the ATAR to get into Journalism is 96 in Melbourne and those that are journalists don't give a care in the world for true information. -

I think it's safe to say that it looks almost identical... I wonder if the outside section will be to. RE my previous post, I was referring to RWC's comment... -
This is the most shocking part to me, I really feel for the woman's children. On Facebook, a woman who said she was next in line to ride the Texas Giant wrote that “the lady whose seat I was about to get into on the Giant wasn’t there when the red train came back!! Seriously! People in front row screaming when they came back that their mom was gone. We waited about 50 mins & now kids are freaking out.”

A woman has died while riding the texas giant. It is reported that the woman fell to her death after her restraint came undone..... what do you think?

Other viable locations for water parks to open in Aus?
JacobSibbald replied to Gazza's topic in Theme Park Discussion
A "day" doesn't really last 24 hours colliric , it gets dark at 5:30-6:30 during non daylight saving time... -

I honestly don't know what you are going on about colliric, I am a bored teen and I don't even go to Adventure Park when I want to. As with what Gazza and AlexB were saying, Melbourne needs a water park that is more sufficient than what Adventure Park and Funfields offer, which you couldn't even consider water parks compared to WnW. Sydney is not a half-day journey, once cannot simply make a day trip to Sydney WnW and back in car and anyone that think they can is being ridiculous. Melbourne needs a water park 1st and a new theme park 2nd in my opinion and you cannot dispute that Melbourne needs at least a larger water park or expansion. -

The coaster mustn't be very big then... that doesn't look like a whole lot of coaster in the photo, surely they will have to go outside... -
Clive Palmer Theme Park Australia
JacobSibbald replied to JacobSibbald's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Sunshine Coast Council officers have no objections to mining magnate Clive Palmer's dinosaur theme park and vintage car museum, which he believes will attract an extra 700 people a week to each facility. Is this a joke? 700 people? -
trip report Port aventura (video) 2013
JacobSibbald replied to coumcoum's topic in Theme Park Discussion
wishing i could've gone when i was there a week or two ago. i was up until the night we were meant to.... and i chose it over ferrari world. so pretty much traded a theme park for nothing. -
I watched no shows, it wasn't a public holiday, however it was a Saturday. It was ridiculously frustrating considering I did every ride that I wanted to go on more than once at both Disneyland and DCA in two days...

And maybe I should've checked this thread first...

Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013
JacobSibbald replied to alex_1's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Thrill Zone just posted that Storm will be opening later in the year, closer to summer. In September, the Polar Shores expansion will be opening instead. Hopefully this means theming will be top notch *edit: should've checked the other thread first, seems this is old news -
So I just returned from my Europe trip where unfortunately I was only able to go to Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios. This review is going to be incredibly short because I know there are parts of the park which tie in very well with the Disney level and I certainly respect these areas (Small World, Main Street, Hollywood Tower of Terror). To be 100% honest, putting the shared ownership aside, I was sorely disappointed. The fast track system allows for too many passes per time block, the cast members are rude, a part from one who helped me out when I started walking to the cast member entrance which I had mistaken for an alternate entrance into Walt Disney studios, and there were no characters... at all. The theming was obviously incredibly detailed and Space Mountain: Mission 2 and Crush's coaster were fantastic rides, however I only got to do TOT, Crush's Coaster, the Studio Tour and Space Mountain throughout the entire day. I look forward to hearing what you have to say...

Nice pick up! AlexB, mind my lack of knowledge, but what's a fodder? So are you suggesting it's going to be a ride or the animals will be animatronics.... or both? haha -

Euro Disneyland has not turned a profit in 20 years
JacobSibbald replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Thanks Jobe I'll be definitely sure to give you one then. And hopefully (it's about 50/50 at this stage) I can get to Alton towers for the smiler or Thorpe Park for The Swarm. I'll also be going to PortAventura in Spain and Aquaventure in Dubai. -

Well I'm going in just over two weeks (saturday 22nd) and possibly the day after and by the looks of it, off watching the videos from AJRucks and the like, it does look a bit lacklustre compared to Disneyland and DCA. I'll be sure to post my review when I get back, although I don't know if you want the opinions of a 16-year-old (I've been to Disneyland Anaheim by the way)
