  1. ^ Movie World should have free wi fi like Dreamworld has (it's called Dreamworld Q4U and works great). Why not just scan your VIP pass / entry ticket to hire a locker? They both have barcodes. They could have free locker hire for rides that require it (Superman Escape & Jet Rescue).
  2. Yeah near there. There is a lot of wasted land full of tables in that area too.
  3. Someone needs to update that sice the paddle boat is gone which was an opening day attraction as well as gum tree gully and vintage cars (moved from original location, now unthemed)
  4. The Cyclone did not take over any Thunderbolt land. They once operated side by side. WWW took over most of the Thunderbolt footprint. They apparently stiil have some track and a train left so is possible that Thunderbolt II may be built one day... The Thunderbolt was part of the original big 5 thrill rides which also included The Cyclone, Tower of Terror, Giant Drop and Wipeout.
  5. I agree with joz. If the parks want a no loose item policy lockers should be provided for free for ride users. But unfortunately the parks are making a lot of money out of locker hire so I doubt they will do that until one day after building many new rides that require locker hire the guests all get really mad and all go to Dreamworld insted.
  6. I did see some trees were cleared at the back of Wet n Wild. New attraction perhaps? Sea World need to remove that annoying gate, improve Vikings Revenge and add some flats. Movie World need to fix Scoobys party room and open up Chinatown Ally. Dreamworld needs a massive makeover. New mine ride, new rollercoaster, upgrade/ demolish Cyclone, bring back steam train, inprove theming, new chairlift... Www could do with a lazy river.
  7. But if you really want to avoid locker fees all you have to do is... ★Don't bring a bag ★Don't wear a hat ★Wear pants that have a zip up pocket ★Put your VIP pass and your Debit / Credit Card in your pocket ★Don't bring / wear any loose items.
  8. But you will put your smartphone in to the locker how would you get it out?
  9. Exactly. A wristband is the only way to do it since phones are not allowed in Superman Escape. During night events guests where wristbands and are allowed on the rollercoasters so it is possible. All they need is a system just like the water parks but the only difference is that you can use more than 1 locker and take your items with you as you move around the park. With a rule that locker areas near rides are for short term use only and you get charged a fee for overuse. They can add locker areas near Scooby and Wild West Falls at Movie World.
  10. The "Road Runner Rollercoaster Viewing Area" is mostly fenced off. Remember this was the original entry to Looney Tune River Ride. Could they be re building the queue area? The hole is most likely there to help remove and build large objects. Remember when Storm Coaster got built last year most of the outside walls were removed.
  11. I actually spent most of the day at Wet n Wild and left just before 2pm. (They really could do with clocks around the park since I don't wear my watch there). I then walked over to Movie World and had lunch. Got very annoyed by the long lines and only rode Wild West and Scooby once (Wild West's effects seemed to be working well for once but Scooby's "party room" was still bland as always). I saw the 4D movie at 4pm by the time I got to Superman it was 4.45 and there seemed to be a management guy and the usual staff member telling people to hire a $2 1 hour locker which would have ended at 5.45 so I was like stuff this and rode Arkham Asylum instead (with audio this time!). My tip - STAY AWAY from Movie World during school holidays way too crowded! I also wish there was another way from the back of the park to the front. When the parade is on your trapped if you don't want to see the parade! Another reason why locker hire is bad. If you paid your $2 to ride Superman Escape and the ride ended up closing / the line was too long you don't get your money back Unless maybe you complain :angry2: Storm coaster broke down on my last Sea World visit when I was in the queue. Luckily I decided to leave. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnE21lVc_Cs
  12. Things that I hate most about Movie Worlds / Sea Worlds locker hire are The system can be so slow and unresponsive at times - "Please enter your date of birth, please reenter your date of birth, pleases select your colour". At least at the waterparks a simple scan of a wristband and the locker is open. You want to get your moneys worth but going off peak it takes way less than an hour to ride so you need a few rides to fill the hour. The price has doubled! They used to be only $1. You can't use unused hire time (one day at Sea World I would have had about another hour left after hiring at 2 different times. Superman Escape has got to be the worst laid out ride ever (not the rides itself but the station design). With the rule of no loose items allowed (and nothing in your pockets) they for some weird reason exit you into the gift shop??? At lease Jet Rescue has some lockers inside the shop. Some ideas for improved locker hire All day any locker hire (add lockers to Scooby Doo and Wild West) Scan wristband. $10 available at most retail / food outlets. Add a "Rehire Locker" option on single use lockers. If you have at least 30min left you can rehire a locker at no extra cost (with limited time however) Free locker hire after say 4:15pm. You don't need the hour so why pay for the hour?
  13. The inside has been cleaned out The Road Runner Rollercoaster viewing area is mostly fenced off (old entry to LTRR) There is a huge hole now in the front of the building
  14. Something is going on at the old River Ride. Inside looked cleaned out and the old qhue area (RRR viewing area) was fenced off. I'll post pictures tomorrow. It better not be Mini Kids Driving School
  15. Yeah its true they are very money hungry at the theme parks. Bottle of water $4.50, get dry machine $5 but when it comes to locker hire a better system is required. One idea I have can actually make them a lot of $$$. Get a wristband for $10 for allday hire that you can open ANY locker with the barcode and use it at ALL parks for 1 day. For example I was at Wet n Wild in the morning and had a locker wristband. At Movie World that afternoon it would be great if you were still able to use it to hire a locker.
  16. Sorry to post on an old topic but I was at Movie World today at 4.45 pm I wanted to ride Superman Escape but they still forced you to hire a locker for an hour when the park closed in 15min. Locker hire should be free after 4. I rode Arkum instead.
  17. ^ Cyclone really could do with a referb like Corkscrew and Leathel Weapon had but Dreamworld really need a brand new coaster. They apparently still have some track and a train from Thunderbolt so they should build Thunderbolt II.
  18. I rode it last month for the last time and it was not in perfect condition. It was missing carriages and rusting.
  19. Movie World has the best variety. You can't get a overpriced pie / sausage roll at Dreamworld or Sea World anymore since they closed there bakeries.
  20. The only reminder of Dinosaur Island are some power cables sticking up from the ground where the dinosaurs were and the indoor area is now fenced off. The island is now empty and deserted.
  21. Yesterday Storm Coaster didn't open till after 3pm. I got 2 rides on it then it broke down trapping people up high for a very long time. With Sea Viper closed the park got very boring and I had no rides to dry off on (I'm not paying for a locker again!) I heard a ride op at Jet Rescue saying that the Sea Viper may get demolished soon as it is getting old and the track is wearing out. It will be sad to see it go but lets hope that if they build a new coaster to replace it it has free storage boxes (like Sea Viper) and doesn't require locker hire.
  22. I was at Sea World yesterday and the gate is still there! They now have wires (not sharp) on the top of the fence and nearby posts. But I still managed to climb over through the garden to the right... I did see a lot of confused guests around the gate I found this old photo from 1984 proving that the pathway was open when the train operated.
  23. I was at Sea World yesterday and Dreamworld the week before but I actually thought Dreamworld was the better park between the two.
