I find it really sad that they are destroying more of the classic Dreamworld we all grew up with. I don't think John Longherst will be impressed if he saw what they've done to the paddle boat.

The Death of the Captain Sturt.

They can keep part of the lake for the wildlife area but the rest is pointless now unless they can find a new use for it. Fill it it behind motorcoaster and it wouldn't look so out of place.

Redline would go good in that area. They could redesign it and make it a free attraction. I went on it once and found it not worth the money. It had PS2 graphics so an upgrade is needed. They could build a path behind motorcoaster for a great viewing area and there is room for another world that could have a boat dark ride like LTRR, maybe a new coaster and other new attractions.

Filling in the river inside the blue line in the above image (not the whole river) gives more land for bigger, better rides and would make Motocoaster not look so out of place. They could redevelop the old rivertown area into a new world (new theme for MDMC?). With the river gone in that area it can be spaced out better (Wiggles World + new themed area with "Motocoaster"). A new pathway could be built at the side with the remaining river as an alternative way across the park to the log ride without going through the wildlife park.

With the Captain Sturt officially gone I have an idea for the space which is to fill in parts of the river to create more space in the park for some exciting new ride experiences (not flat rides) and room to expand "Wiggles World".

I don't think that the Mine Ride is being maintained. Take a look at these photos. One is the Mine Ride back in the 90's and the other is the ride in 2013. Note the "yellow stuff" not seen when the ride was in operation and those wires sticking out could mean a part fell off?
-
Didn't they close the vintage cars and train on week days last year to save money while saying the ride are closed for maintenance?
-
They most likey will be destroying more of what's left of classic Dreamworld and building another out of place ride that spins around. It will be built on a budget and will break down regularly, even after just being maintained. Whatever it is I doubt it is anything that will get me to buy a new pass like a GOOD rollercoaster or Mine Ride replacement.

Jet Rescue is way better then Motorecoaster since it doesn't crush peoples legs.

The wooden fence is seen in the photo I took last month. I guess your photo was taken from the other side but you can clearly see the fence. If someone can recreate this photo that would be great.

That's a different gate that the one I originally posed isn't it? How many path blocking gates do they have? I hope you don't mind The_Ninja_59 but I put your photo on Sea World's facebook page with a funny quote.

What does it take to be a Looney Tunes character?
Gary86 replied to kujotess's topic in Theme Park Discussion
What I saw when I worked at Movie World is that the Looney Tune characters wear a bodysuit underneath to keep cool. In the costume department I saw lots of Looney Tune head peaces of the same characters. -
I put the following suggestions to Dreamworld and they said that some may be part of their future plans. ● Replace SBNO attractions ●Build a decent roller coaster ●Upgrade the cinema to 4D ●Update themeing on older rides ●Add more shows

Dreamworld was originally built to be a Disney like park in Australia. What's left of the original buildings are based on Disney. Like the entry, cinema, Main street train station. While other Disney like attractions are left to rot like the Paddle Steamer and The avalanche mountain got demolished for yet another out of place ride ( Motorcoaster being another out of place ride that destroyed even more of the "Disney" feel Dreamworld used to have when John Longhest owed the place>)

I like the idea of Cyclone 2. Going backwards would be wild like a cyclone, and an unique coaster experience.
-
Yes can someone please post a picture of what the gate looks like now, I'm not bothered visiting the park right now...
-
Sea world finally commented on one of my posts about the gates. After someone else put a comment in and I responded saying that the now taller gate is making the park hard to navagate Sea World said they said they will pass it on to guest services.

The long one

My postive notes on Dreamworld are... 1. Free storage for loose items on ALL rides 2. More rides than other Gold Coast parks 3. They gave me my first job

Maybe everyone should message Sea World and tell them that it is worse now and the pathway should be opened as we will still buy there overpriced food. Also tell them to make Vikings longer.

It was in a RACQ South East Queensland Motoring Guide from 1992.

I don't think the train needs reopening but I just had a thought that when "Wild" opens maybe they could add another monorail station to that side? The park could do with a redevelopment which will include the removal of all the remain train track / stations. As for that gate making it harder to climb over is a very bad idea as it is very confusing to find your way around the park. Opening the gate will allow easier access around the park and won't waste guests time in finding the alterative route.
