A woman has been rushed to a hospital after being mauled by a tiger at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast. The victim, a tiger handler, suffered several cuts and scratches while working with a tiger. Paramedics provided initial care for her deep lacerations before transporting her to Gold Coast University Hospital. The female handler was working with a tiger about 9am this morning when the incident occurred. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said medics were called to Dreamworld at 9.01am “following an incident involving a tiger”. There, they treated a woman aged in her 30s before taking her to Gold Coast University Hospital. The spokeswoman said the handler was in a stable condition, with injuries to her arm.

The Lego Store is looking really great. Just drove past Dreamworld. It looks so nice and new, everything around it looks crappy and faded in comparison.

I would expect their employer to do everything they can to assist these people during a situation that is completely out of their control. I'd say that the lives of millions of people who go through the park are also important. The judgement of the external & independent body is now also compromised since they okayed this ride, and should also be investigated. This wasn't a freak accident. It's not like a tree fell down or lightning struck something, or some other one-time thing. I think the evidence already points to this being replicable and the result of significant shortcomings in the attraction's design, maintenance and/or operating procedures.

I agree with the Premier's push to keep the park closed. Additionally, I think it should remain closed until a full investigation has been completed into the safety the park and its rides. They've raised legitimate doubts about their ability to judge the safety of their own attractions. I am absolutely shocked that Dreamworld would even try and reopen the park so soon.

I went to Fright Night last night and did 3 of the 4 mazes (I missed out on F13). Wyrmwood stood out as the best by far, so I would highly recommend it! I didn't see Wyrmwood last year though, so I don't know how it compares to last year.

Hi guys, Tonight (31 July 2014) is the last night you can renew your VIP Magic Pass and get a free upgrade to Gold. Their website is currently not validating renewals (their fault/technical issue), which means that people are unable to renew tickets online and claim the offer. If you've tried to renew your pass online, post in here. I think they should extend the offer, considering the glitch. Has anyone played Minecraft? I'm thinking of playing... waiting for it to come out on Xbox One. It's supposed to come out in August. It looks like people have even tried to build their own amusement parks: The Fun Park Fun Land Woosh Games Theme Park Would like to know what you guys think. Is it worth it?

I think it would be a cool idea to have a leaderboard of the people who have ridden the most rides on the rides page and another leaderboard on the parks page.

I went to WNW today and it was raining... it wasn't too cold or wet (go figure). It wasn't dead, there were a few people in lines but definitely less than a regular day. WhiteWater World was dead.

This is something we can definitely trial on the homepage -- we can test the percentage of people who visit the home page and use that feature. We want to be able to provide the best experience for all people and that means including features that are useful for the most people. Since you've made the effort to request it, we'll definitely be willing to try! Thanks, Flea! That's a great suggestion and definitely doable. We will look at that sort of functionality once we get the core features of the site up and running again (such as adding/editing rides, parks and photos). But keep the suggestions coming, this is all really useful feedback.

Good news -- you can now check off parks and rides pretty much wherever you are on the site. The check in feeds and search results pages (e.g. http://www.parkz.com.au/search/rides/location/country-AU) all have"Been Here?" or "Ridden This?" buttons. Now you don't have to go to each individual park or ride page to say that you've experienced that park/attraction. More improvements are coming soon.
