Dreamworld announced it is opening boxing day
-
Oh, yeah I forgot about that.
-
Sea world have just placed benches in the train station. They should just knock it down and put in a shop or two. They should then just take out the train track and turn the rest of it into garden beds. Where the track crosses over the bridge near jet rescue, they should just open it up and turn it into a large pathway were benches could be placed to look over the water or sea viper. If they are going to keep that gate closed they should have signs or fence the area further back so that people will just a walk through the food area.

Dreamworld really need to get their act together. You can understand having fewer staff in the park, when it isn't holidays, but since they have recently hired more staff you would think that they would have every ride open at full capacity. I went to Dreamworld on Christmas Eve last year and it wasn't very busy, maybe thats why. One of the staff members said it doesn't start to get busy until Boxing Day. If Dreamworld wants to become a better park, they need to be at the same or better standards as MW, SW and WNW. Dreamworld has been open the longest of all the parks and some of the rides are still there when it first opened. The park needs a facelift. They have done it too the kids area and now the wildlife experience. But as we have been saying the Gold Rush and Ocean Parade needs new rides. Cyclone needs to be made more comfortable, a new ride should replace reef diver. And the mine ride NEEDS TO BE REPLACED with something new. We will just have to wait and see.

My opinion on the ride length is that yes it isn't very long for a coaster ride, but sea world is not a huge theme park, which doesn't have a lot of land left. I think that the ride looks a lot better in the middle of the park, rather than in the car park. For the area of land available they have probably done the best they could. It would have been better if it had a longer water section. A longer build up to the coaster and a longer conclusion. But I suppose they can't really make the beginning longer and they can't make the conclusion longer as the boats can't make tight turns like Bermuda Triangle could. All I want them to do now is just put something in the middle of the building so you can't see the effects again after the ride and so you can't see the queue line after the splash down. -

Im sure no one else can see it. At wet n wild Gold Coast the scale is positioned so that the only people who can see it are the lifeguard and yourself -

Your right. I'm not saying that because it's in Australia it will have more problems. I simply wrote it wrong. I'm just saying it's the first of its kind in australia. I don't know why I wrote the second part of that sentence. -

I mean both of them, but I didn't realise that technicians from Mack were on site. It's just a misunderstanding. -

I'm not saying there are more problems because of the country, I mean for the type of ride. It's the first water coaster in Australia. Like all new rides there are going to be problems that continue to occurs or the first few months -

People need to realise that when it comes to new rides, they are always going to be problems for the first couple of months. And as this is the first water coaster in the country it means that this ride will have extra problems that need to be fixed. It will just take time for Sea World's maintenance team to figure out the best way to prevent and fix issues that occur. -

Sea World have released the tv ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tffpd5vRapc It seems that the gas lines are installed, they just aren't working yet. Maybe they don't want to put them on until everything else is working correctly. The ride still keeps on stopping at the top and some water effects aren't working entirely. It's just a waiting game really. -

I would agree with that. For a family ride the coaster is enough, but it is a shame there is not more water section. I know the boats can't make as sharp as turns as the Bermuda Triangle could, but it would have been good if it was like an S. They could have had a viewing area where non-riders could get wet on the other side of the splash down. Also, there are lockers been put in place to the right of the photo shop. -

gdalby96 replied to gdalby96's topic in Theme Park Discussion
it's opened today. anyone got any pictures? EDIT: Dreamworld posted this on their website: An Australian theme park first, DREAMWORLD CORROBOREE is an interactive walk-through experience celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, wildlife and stories. As guests make their way through CORROBOREE, they will learn about traditional stories associated with key animal exhibits and have the opportunity to try hands-on activities including fire making, weapon throwing and music making. The central focal point of DREAMWORLD CORROBOREE is a replicated ‘humpy’ called the Corroboree Theatre featuring a film produced by renowned Aboriginal artist David Hudson especially for Dreamworld. Titled “Creation of the Gold Coast” this film is a narrated feature about the local Yugambeh people’s story. Also inside the Corroboree Theatre will be a digital dot painting activity, artwork and a map of the Indigenous tribe boundaries throughout Australia. Throughout DREAMWORLD CORROBOREE Australia’s unique and beautiful wildlife is immortalised in commissioned Indigenous artwork that is showcased throughout the area as part of the experience and storytelling. Seven years in the making, DREAMWORLD CORROBOREE has been created with invaluable assistance and approval from members of many Indigenous language groups and peoples including: Kamilaroi mob of South-Western QueenslandSavannah Ewamian, Western Yalanji, Mamu Ngadjon and Rainforest Peoples of Northern QueenslandNyikina people of the Kimberley regionKooma mob of Western QueenslandMoon-Bird people of TasmaniaPeople of the Torres Strait IslandsYugambeh language group of the Gold Coast and surrounds. -

No it wasn't. They did test runs about 8 times Well it didn't open until 12 because there were problems. I was queued back to the 4th plastic fridge things and I was waiting for about 15 minutes. There are. I saw one just to the left side of the splash down enterance. All of this smoke comes out of the building and goes over the queue line. -

I went on the storm today and thought it was a really good addition to the park. I personally thought it was better than the Bermuda Triangle. Even though it was no where near as long, it had more of a thrill and may be more appealing to guests. The fire effects weren't working again and the boat didn't stop so we got an extra soaking. I thought the theming outside and in was really good. I didn't think it was bad that they had the gravel. You don't notice it when on the ride or in the queue line because of all of the boats and cars. Getting onto the ride was quick (One of the staff members said there is 30 seconds between each boat leaving). I liked how on your exit you could watch the boats coming in, so that you could get an extra soaking. What I didn't really like was how after the splash down you could see the loading bay. Also on your exit you can see the wrecked ship again. I think there should be a wall, so that you can't see the end of the ride after the splash down and so you can't see the effects again when your exiting the ride, but still don't block the view of the boats coming in. Thats just my opinion. I will definitely go back early next year once all effects are working. -

Thanks. Generally though, how long have the queue's been, when it has not broken down? -
I never got to ride Lassiter's Lost Mine, so could someone describe what the ride was like. Was it a similar experience to the bermuda triangle?

I am going to the park tomorrow, but am taken family who don't want to go on the storm. When the ride isn't broken down, how long are you in the queue line? Also, do people think the park will be busy tomorrow, even though most schools aren't on holidays yet? At what point during the day will the storm have the shortest queue? -
What will be the next attraction to open at the GC parks?
gdalby96 replied to Brad2912's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think movie world will turn their attention to the kids ride that was supposed to open this year. Sea World will continue work on their wild attraction. Dreamworld should open a new attraction, probably a family ride. Wet n wild don't need to do anything. White water world need to open a couple more attractions but I don't know if they will.
