You're entitled to your own opinion, and I'm not trying to come across as if I'm trying to shut you guys down at every turn. It's just I don't think that idea would be able to make the leap from concept to reality yet. After some research, I found out it is Ringmaster. Just goes to show how memorable that character was.
-
I think you would find two issues with that... 1. Tribute mazes are best kept to anniversary events. For the 10th or 15th year then I would be quite content with it, but not for the 8th or 9th 2. Fright Nights doesn't have much of a back catalogue. It doesn't have its "icons" yet. If they made a tribute maze, it would just have generic clowns and hillbillies. If they bring in an icon that is actually picked up by the GP, then it would be better. I'm sure if you went to do a survey on the GP about this, less than half would say they know who the "Ringleader" is.

Wyrmwood doesn't really excite me. I think it would be a fun experience for sure, but it just doesn't fill me with anticipation like Friday the 13th. It'll probably be the last maze I go to, unless the originals or possible returning mazes don't do anything for me.
-
Wow, only a bit over an hour after I said "How'd you get Wyrmwood", it's been announced. What I would like to know is, like the rest of us here on these forums, how did you know it was Wyrmwood?
-
I didn't go through Evil Within last year, but can someone vouch that the facade looks similar or the same? I find it odd that if this is the case, that no one had brought it up earlier. Once again, it could be possible. Props are reused, however, so while it may be the same car from Wolf Creek, it doesn't mean it is Wolf Creek. Did you see anything else? Or was that all? Source? Did you see anything to suggest Wyrmwood? Did someone working at the park say it's Wyrmwood? Or do you want it to be Wyrmwood? I think that the building on main street would just be one panic room. I assume this will be like the Escape Hunt attractions, as they sound very similar. In saying that, I've been to room escape attractions where the room has actually been multiple smaller rooms. Friday the 13th would make sense as being the biggest, but I wonder how they would utilise the whole space. The Walking Dead (2013) was great because it felt like a journey through all the seasons, and it utilised all that space very well. Am I wrong in thinking that Friday the 13th may not justify such a long maze? Also, welcome to the forums.

2015 in Dreamworld - ABC Kids World, V8 Supercars and more
Zanstabar replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I wonder what the soundtrack would be. Probably just a generic, high BPM rock track to fit the theme. -
Now, I'm not trying to be rude or hypocritical, but where are all these ideas coming from? Clearly not a place of logic... Let's start with Dead Rising 2. They've already confirmed one zombie themed precinct, why would they have more? In the case that the whole year was zombie themed then I be ok with the suggestion (e.g HHN 23, Orlando), but the event clearly isn't heading that way. Also, just because it has a theme park in the source material doesn't mean it's going to happen. If that was the case, then we'd be seeing Beverly Hills Cop 3: The Ride on our shores very soon. Dying Light is a bit better, since Ninja clearly stated it's a want; not fact. It's just more a matter of deconstructing that idea and figuring out whether it would actually work or not. As Reanimated said, it wouldn't translate well. That said though, I did suggest Resident Evil by piecing together some minor clues. Is it confirmed? No. Could it happen? Hell yeah it could. Once again, I'm not trying to be rude, hypocritical or catty. I'm just wondering where on earth some of these ideas have came from. If you have a hunch that a franchise could be possible, maybe look at the criteria that John Murdy of Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood uses. That way you can actually say "I have an idea, and I can justify that I may be possible".

Interesting to see that the ambulance has been moved. Wonder if it'll be coming back?

From what I've heard, these "Panic Rooms" are basically like those Escape Hunt games they have in a lot of cities. It's basically a small room, or series of small rooms, with a bunch of clues inside and a time limit. Figure out the puzzle using only what is in the room and you win. Looking at the size of the dodgem floor in Intencity, I think it's quite clear to see that it can't be a panic room. That would just be too much space wasted for a small experience. My belief is that a panic room would be in Scooby, since there has never been much space there to operate a design maze.

Gold Coast almost got Disneyland.

Competition tends to be a good thing, but going up against one of the biggest companies in the world would not heed good results. It would be like a daschund going up against a doberman. -

2015 in Dreamworld - ABC Kids World, V8 Supercars and more
Zanstabar replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I wouldn't say it's a bust. They have different demographics and price limitations that they have to manage. Wait until about 6 months after opening, then the stats will show us whether it's a bust -
2015 in Dreamworld - ABC Kids World, V8 Supercars and more
Zanstabar replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
If it results in a better experience, then I'm all for it. It's just I don't find V8's interesting. Same as how someone may not find the theme of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. -
2015 in Dreamworld - ABC Kids World, V8 Supercars and more
Zanstabar replied to Reanimated35's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Looks like a good addition. I'm not a fan of V8's in the slightest, so this doesn't interest me at all. It's just nice to see some actual thought and effort put into this design compared to some of the train wrecks of years past. -
I believe entry is not included. You would have to be seperate entry. $120 for entry, fast track, welcome drinks and canapés as well as the opportunity to meet the design team seems a bit too cheap to me. Also, any suggestions for dates to go on the tour?

Could the panic rooms be smaller rooms similar to the Skeleton Key offerings at Knott's Scary Farm?
-
I think he meant not five mazes, since the screen clip of the website only a couple of posts earlier mention four mazes. What is interesting is that the screen clip states "four new mazes". Could we possible get a returning maze? Maybe Cannibal Clowns or the Rage from last year? Or am I just looking way too far into this?
-
I find it awfully shady that Scooby reopens from rehab just a little bit over a week before Fright Night's start. Could it have just been a red herring? Or could the text about "four mazes" be a little outdated?
-
I think it's going to be a very, very busy year again. Let's hope they've learnt how to manage the larger crowds
-
Normally it's packed. I've been thinking to do the UTT on the first night, given the Fast Track passes that are included. Only problem is that the first night is known for teething problems. Any guesses as to what the best night to attend in terms of crowds and general experience?
-
Historically it's either been around the 22-25th of August or 7-8th September when information starts to become readily available. Since it's already September, I would say a week, tops.
-
I really hope so. Wasn't able to do it last year but it looked like a blast. Would love to finally be able to go on the tour.

I'm at Movie World today, so I'll give you guys a little update. Let me just preface this by saying that this was all done within public grounds. No fences where jumped and no trespassing done. I have a set of ethics and I really didn't want to ruin my relationship with the parks. If this seems uneventful, then too bad. Break the rules yourself. Firslty, the car on the fountain is gone and the fountain is operational. Speakers are lined on the road to the studios The facade of the maze in Intencity is clearly visible from the outside. Doesn't look to be much progress. Door of Studio 2 is wide open, with the basic walls for the maze sitting outside. An ambulance is parked in Main Street with small maze-like walls around it. This isn't a construction zone, but rather appears to be a part of a scare zone. Think the Barn at Horror Nights in Orlando about 2-3 years back.
