  1. Thanks, Tim. The effort came from the board and the team. I just happened to be there in between. I believe the park will continue to invest but that will depend on results. It is hitting an interesting period. I believe in the old adage " build it and they will come". But you need population and tourism growth.
  2. whatever ride it is, I did also say it had a unique feature that will enhance the rider experience. That is quite a big part of this attractions point of differentiation. I can't wait to ride it.
  3. In my view, it is better than any of the above. That is just my view though. that looks familiar. From a drawing anyway. The theming concept was fantastic. Hats off to Atomiq ( again)
  4. It is a great location for what is coming. Wait and see! I doubt it will underwhelm.
  5. There is going to be a new kid on the block, opening around Mid November. Great to be involved.
  6. good to see that hibiscus growing fast on the fenceline. They are not only beautiful but eventually, they will provide a barrier between the outside world and Adventure Wolrd. Guests should not see the road and bus stop/passing traffic while inside a theme park, it should be completely screened to help them escape the daily grind. In about 5 years from now, you won't be able to see in or out.
  7. This is such a tragic accident and so soon after Dreamworld on a similar ride. My thoughts are with the family. I was at Drayton Manor last July on a return trip to the UK and their Director George Bryan showed me around. I have sent a message of support to the team this morning.
  8. I am a big fan of what the guys are doing at FF. As are my kids!
  9. Thank you Jobe, much appreciated. Like I said, there is a terrific team at AW who are committed to continuing the journey. Not sure what's next but I'll hope to stay in the Theme park industry and continue to contribute here. Mark Theme parks... Best ever
  10. All, After 6 fantastic, beautiful years at AW I am no longer with the Park. ? I have loved the enthusiasm and support you guys have shown for the park and long may it continue. The team at AW are amazing so I'm sure the future will be bright. I hope the future 6 years are as exciting as the past. Thanks for your incredible support. Best at wishes to all. Mark.
  11. AIM Pinnacle Award Winner for Customer Service Excellence Adventure World was last night awarded the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) Pinnacle Award for Customer Service Excellence at Crown Perth, acknowledging the theme park’s outstanding results, leadership, and commitment to excellence in customer service. This latest accolade comes immediately off the back of Adventure World being awarded the Training Initiative Award in October for the third year running and thereby qualifying for induction into the Hall of Fame at the AHA – AON Hotel and Hospitality Awards for Excellence. Adventure World were also finalists in the WA Perth Airport Tourism awards and based on Trip Advisor ratings for the past two seasons, has been the highest rated major Theme Park or Water Park in all of Australia* Mark Shaw, Adventure World CEO, stated that it was an honour for the park to be judged as a leader across all industry in WA. “Delivering a consistent and high quality guest service experience is something we are all passionate about at Adventure World. We believe the hard working people of WA deserve to be welcomed by warm, attentive and engaging staff every time” Mr Shaw said “We generally recruit about 1 in 7 attendees to our auditions and interviews which means we can hand pick the really lovely high energy people, the kind of people who get a kick out of seeing others having a fantastic day out. Team members receive approximately 30 hours of training and inductions followed by on the spot coaching. Positive behaviours are rewarded with strong recognition programs. We also actively engage and empower every team member to take ownership of our common purpose to ‘create happiness and magical memories’ for our guests.” The accolades come at a time when the park is preparing to launch its newest attraction – “Cirque Extreme!” a high adrenaline 30 minute** show under the big top, with 2 free show’s daily*** for guests to enjoy, kicking off on 18th December through to the end of the summer school holidays. Work is also quietly progressing in the background on the secret $7.5m “Mi3” world class attraction coming next September.
  12. yes it has and one day it will. ticket sales are only at capacity on the saturday so far though. As we build the event and product that is the strategy.
  13. we do have an issue with a sensor and were hampered in our inspections on Saturday due to the poor weather conditions (for climbing the structure). We have Huss dialling into look at the PLC tonight so hopefully we shall get some answers. Its frustrating as she was running very smoothly before. Thanks for the FN feedback IWERKS and Tim, I will certainly pass on to the team.
  14. its quiet becuase its 18 degrees! anything below 23deg and we will be quiet. Below 20 degrees is very quiet territory.
  15. That is something we are monitering. While attendance has been low due to the crazy weather so far, we have not had any kids breaching the log fence line, probably because there is so much else for them to do?
  16. I had to laugh when I saw this post. Sorry. "mi" prefixes stand for "maximum impact" and only for permanent attractions. depending on how this is received, it is possible it will become a summer hoildays regular addition for a while. Tim we were planning on using the new lawned area however the usage of this area does contradict the move to create more lan space to spread people out a bit more during busy periods and we would have killed the new lawn. We have created an area at the base of Kraken between Kraken and Race Track for the big top tent which also provides ease of access from the rear and space for trucks. Earth works for this started last week and will be completed this Tuesday/Wednesday. Mark
  17. All watch out for imminent announcement on Social media regarding our new " Cirque Extreme" show for the Summer school holidays. Big top thrills, free show, twice daily. Mark
