Huh, double post and pretty much about the same thing (Fantasmic) but for those who haven't seen it yet, here's the new Fantasmic dragon. It may not move a whole lot but damm that thing looks awesome.

The Off Topic Topic
What do they do when Fantasmic is canceled at WDW due to weather? It really impresses me that there's such a good show standing by just in case. The fact that the grandstand is next to empty and they've had to cancel the show, but have put something on is IMHO pure class. Also the song at the start is stuck in my head.

Sea Viper - New Ride
I'll be pissed if they go the Six Flags route and put a random flame thrower to Corkscrew if Bermuda doesn't get its fire back. More exposed trains? Um, OK, not really a new ride experience, but if a new train is needed then sure why not? How anyone can claim its anything other then a normal coaster train is beyond me though.

Australian Outback Spectacular (Being Replaced?)
http://outbackspectacular.myfun.com.au/Vis...COMING-SOON.htm According to that it sounds like the Australian Outback Spectacular is going to be replaced with; a new Australian Outback Spectacular! Good to see them freshening the show up after how ever many years its been running for. The "Tribute to the Heroes of the Light Horse" sounds interesting, looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

To Heavy for the rides?
Your not going to have a problem with weight restrictions outside of Wet 'n' Wild (and perhaps White Water World) where there is a combined max of 180KGs on two person slides. Admittedly it seems seldom enforced, and myself and a bigger mate of mine (combined 210kgs) have never had a problem. You won't be refused on anything at the dry parks because of your weight. The thing you may have trouble with is the size of the restraints. Depending on how you carry the weight (and this is the hard bit because everyone is different) you may have difficulty closing the restraints on; Supermam, Scooby Doo, & Batwing at Movieworld, Giant Drop, Motocoaster and Claw at Dreamworld, and Jet Rescue at Seaworld. I'd be really surprised if you were refused for anything else. For some of the rides at Dreamworld there is a test seat out the front of the ride so you can see if you fit in relative modesty. If you're really don't want to be embarrassed because of your weight (which you shouldn't be worrying about, 105KGs absolutely nothing compared to what ride operators see, and who cares what a bunch of tourists you're never going to see again think anyway!) then avoid the rides I've mentioned, but if you decide to throw caution to the wind, I wouldn't be surprised at all if you make it onto everything (though Motocoaster at Dreamworld is VERY restrictive). Again though, it depends on how you carry the weight. The other thing I'd suggest is to make sure your leg has healed, because you don't want to aggravate it. If you're so much as wearing a bandage, you will be stopped before boarding pretty much every ride and asked questions about your leg, and left standing there as the staff must check injuries with their boss, which some people can find quite embarrassing. (If you are wearing a bandage or anything on your leg, at Seaworld and Movieworld first thing in the morning head straight for guest services and they will assess you and issue a wrist band which says what rides you can and cannot go on with your leg, avoiding any embarrassment at the ride. They however cannot pre assess you on your size) Remember though, if you are rejected (this goes for everyone!), if they say no, there is a good reason. If you do try, come back and post about it your experience, because it is a question that comes up quite allot! Hope this helps, have fun!

CEO of Movie World
^ Thats where we have to dissagree, because if I were WVTPs CEO I'd beat my chest and undo all the good work John had done to show that "I'm the boss now!"

Movie World Changes
On the page where you buy the ticket on Myfun.com.au, it says the above not once, but twice, and not in fine print either. I'm all for bagging the parks for declining standards, but the quality and intelligence of the guests is completely beyond the parks control.

Why is everyone hating dreamworld?
Having this thread brought up is quite interesting though. One year ago all the DW fans were pissed because of how pro WVTPs we were. Well since the new COO has had a chance to make his changes this site seems quite anti WVTPs. Funny that ay? BTW: What is the hose at Dreamworld attached to? Who cares, quote of the month!

The Off Topic Topic
Nup, can't get excited by 'Wildebeest'. All it is to me is a longer Super Tubes, which is probably the worst ride at WWW. The only thing I like about it is the 'lift hill', so for me, it's not something I'd like to see at WnW. A shoot the chutes, topspin with water fountains, splash battle, or the thingo Gazza pointed out make much better options for me.

Sea World ski stars sunk by pirates
I don't think you'd need to stop the ski show to reclaim all the land between the lighthouse and Jet Resuce. The boats would have had to change the way they made their approaches to the ramp, but really thats about it.

Dreamworld close to Coomera deal
Sorry, I don't understand how it releases up to $250million? Just because they aren't going ahead with the town center, doesn't mean they have to get rid of the land to get the $250million they were going to spend on it back (or that they spent it in the first place).

Looking for someone who works at WVTP
^ Does no one use the White Pages anymore? A quick (very quick) searched showed up the phone numbers for both Seaworld and Movieworld. Not that it really matters, for the sake of a min or two does anyone really care? For what its worth, reception doesn't have the information at hand, but it'd take them less time to get it since they know who to call or put you through to. I don't know if giving them the answer to every question anyone could possibly have is really the best answer. For the most part the call center staff are really well informed, but if they don't know the answer to a question, assume that no one has asked, or they'd know! The best thing is to know is how to get the answer to questions, and that's why reception would be better then the call center for obscure things (like planned maintenance that hasn't been put on the website yet). They don't know everything off the bat but know who to call to find out so can get the answer to more obscure questions quicker. Also, the cost of the helicopters and animal adventures is well known to the call center staff since they sell them.

Dreamworld close to Coomera deal
Fair enough of them for giving up on the whole 'Town Center' thing. The development they put forward all those years ago weren't really much, and hopefully someone else will come along and do it better. Having said that, the land is currently valued at $20million (according to Mac. Leisure's "independent" valuations) so selling off that land doesn't really reap much benefit. Pity they couldn't have thought up a way to use that land for a separate attraction or a hotel.

Looking for someone who works at WVTP
The 133FUN is pretty much for selling tickets. They wouldn't be able to give precise info on day to day happenings in the park since they don't have the show times in front of them. Better off to call reception at the park you want and they could find out quicker for you.

Petition
I don't think a B&M flyer is the right addition for an Aussie park (for a whole heap of reasons I won't go into), but how on Earth can you say Tatsu is not an intense ride? Not just the pretzel loop, but the whole thing is nuts. Granted AIR isn't the most intense things going around and those Zolare things are indeed as crap as you hear, but Tatsu not intense? To me, that's the most intense ride at the park (I haven't been on X), and that's the same park that has Goliath, a Batman clone and Riddler's!

WVTP New Food Policy
Well, they can't complain now, we gave them tables! How about just letting guests bring stuff in? As someone pointed out, at least they use a locker that way.

Bermuda Triangle
^ They could, but they shouldn't. IMHO animal exhibits and rides are two different things, and the two should never intermingle. The resulting attraction tends to treat animals as a passing curiosity rather then something to be respected (see Aquatica's Dolphin Plungeor Busch Gardens Africa'sRhino Rally) or don't give you adequate time to watch and enjoy the animals (see DAK's Kilamanjaro Safaris) As for gutting Bermuda, well, they're beyond crazy if they get rid of one of the best rides in the park to put in an animal enclosure which is, at best, a filler. It would make more sense to gut the 4D cinema and put penguins in there, they could even put them in the old Dugong building at the front of the park. But gutting Bermuda for Penguins? That is a really, really, stupid idea. They could spend a fraction of the cost of gutting the ride to fix it up properly and leave it be for many more years. Hell I venture that spending a million doing up Bermuda and adding a "new scene" to the ride would result in a bigger attendance boost than what would be achieved from spending $15million to gut the ride and put Penguins in. Gazza summed up my thoughts quite well, the park will not see significant attendance growth with any animal exhibit, aside from Orcas. The last major animal attraction, Shark Bay, saw about a 4% increase in attendance, which is nothing to write home about* for $13million. Really, What SW needs is a couple of new rides, and with the park's family focus, they need to be thrilling rides that are accessable to as many people as possible (so that means no intense Intamin or B&M 140cm special). Animal lovers will flock to the park anyway, (as good as DW did with AWE and Tiger Island, rides are its bread and butter) and I think SW's next few animal exhibits should be on the scale of Penguin Point and Ray Reef: IE pacifiers rather then motivators. The park should still add new animal exhibits, but as pacifiers; the things that you didn't even know the park had until you rounded a corner and saw the display. The next couple of motivators need to be those big noisy metal (or wood ) things called rides. As always I am right but no one cares * Shark Bay when built did see a big increase in per cap spending with the introduction of the Shark Snorkel, so was by no means a bad investment, but my point remains

Do you really not get it or are you being sarcastic?

WVTP New Food Policy
Well all publicity is good publicity is good publicity right? Well judging by this article from the Gold Coast bulletin, and the nearly 100 angry comments that go with it on the bully's website, along with the 186 comments and counting on news.com.au, I'd suggest not. Seems they may have under estimated the public tolerance to such policies. This can't be doing the brand any favours, and I think they really should reverse this policy - and announce it. People really get pissed off about this sort of thing, and when your main product is a fun time, then you really don't want to be pissing people off. Hell, why not have a half price day (or week) and invite people to bring a picnic and and undo some of the damage? Can't hurt now can it? As a side note, join the protest face book group here!

Sea Viper - New Ride
Personally, I think if you have to give the ride a new train then sure, the ride is still a motivator after 27 years, and I think you could spend quite a lot of money on that ride and it'd still be worth it. Having said that, I think they're kidding themselves if they think a bit of paint and a name change is going to result in any sort of attendance boost. Honestly, I think 'Corkscrew' as is, after 27 has more drawing power then the exact same ride called 'Sea Viper'. Corkscrew is what people think of when they think of rides at Sea World, and they're better off trading with that familiarity then trying to re-brand it. My understanding of a Sea Viper visually, is its a vile combination between a snake and an Angler fish, and are about a foot long. They have huge fangs that don't fit inside their heads, and like the Angler Fish, use a light to attract pray. They are thought to use those fangs to impale their pray by swimming at them at high speeds. OK then, I'll admit it when you think about what they do, Sea Viper is a pretty cool name for a ride, but it'd be a good name for a new ride, not as a new name for an old ride like Corkscrew which doesn't need it.

Corkscrew down for maintenance... during xmas holidays >:(
Nope, still closed, the carriages which are under the Corkscrew are covered up as if in storage, while the other train is still parked in the tunnel. With any luck this love that Corkscrew is having forced upon it will also extend to reopening the train and overhaul of Bermuda's effects, since those are the attractions that actually need some love.
