My random park [RCT3]
So long as you don't build an entrance on then it doesn't say anything. Normally it'll only say something if you have an entrance but no path. Its the same as if you were to build a coaster with seperate load/unload stations.

My random park [RCT3]
I think the issue with the Tiger fence particularly is that no Mechanics can get to it. What I do to get around that sort of problem is too dig a deep trench around an enclosure and fill it with water, so no animal will try to escape since they don't swim. Also, when I say one way transport what I mean is building (for example) a train with station at the front and back of the park, but simply don't put an entrance on the station at the back of the park.

The Off Topic Topic
Haven't been on them, in fact have barely seen anyone go on them, maybe when it warms up I'll check them out. 2 points on the advertising thing: 1. That was a cheap shot 2. Am I the only one amused when the ad space for sale on Myfun site shows ads for their own parks?

My random park [RCT3]
Couple of suggestions for guest distribution: 1. Get rid of the food court at the front of the park, replace with one or two random stalls. Place a food court in the furtherest corners of the park 2. Place a couple of one way transport rides taking peeps from the entrance to the far flung corners of the park. 3. Get rid of the deadends, once a guest makes it a ride they go straight back to the front of the park

Giga Coaster for Kings Dominion
Wow, first time in a couple of years that a new overseas ride has got my attention. MF's first drop is amazing, but apart from that the ride isn't much, so if this thing has a good layout, it almost might be enough to check out the park next time I'm in the states. Dominator gets great reviews, and it would be fun to see just how crap Backlot Coaster (formally Italian Job) really is.

Six Flags files for Bankruptcy
I think he's talking about the $1 ride lockers. I haven't seen the $1 locker charge at rides anywhere except Six Flags and our parks. The thing is they really piss people off, and for the sake of $1 is it really worth pissing heaps of people off?

WVTP New Food Policy
^ The obvious soloution to the WnW issue is simply to remove the BBQs. Hey, they could even set up one of those $7 sausage sizzle stands! A quick look reveals that this policy is moving to Sea World as well. Good to see that customer satisfaction is on the back burner, I mean now all these cheap bastards will buy the drinkless $10 burger meal, or the $15 microwave nachos, or the $16 small chips with two peices of fish. Food and Beverage at the parks has really gone down hill in the past year, and no amount of funnel cakes will substitute. I also simply adore the line "Its industry standard" which to me basicly reads as "Thats what they do in America". Are the head honchos aware that they aren't in America?

helicopter crash Dreamworld car park
They crashed in the carpark? I hope they got their hand stamped so they could get back in the park. Apparently after the crash, to avoid legal action, the tourists were told they had merly been riding Giant Drop. In all seriousness, it was a great bit of pioleting to stear towards the empty part of the carpark, though that task was made much easier by how lame Mick Doohan's Motocoaster is. Expect a short press statement tomorrow which reads simply: "Hey Seaworld, at least when our helicopter crashes people don't die."

Yeah, was a tube slide through an artificial mountain, legally distinguishable from Krakatoa's though

So here's a special treat for nostalgia buffs, its Jackie McDonald's tour of Sea World video from 1994 As always when being nostalgic, try not be depressed by seeing how much more awesome things used to be, like the fact there used to be a Carvery in Dockside.

Bermuda Triangle
The only thing I'll say in favor of stopping the platform is that unlike other rides that have a moving load system the boats on Bermuda aren't supported, and did rock a small amount during loading. Having said that, I'd say that many years without incident would suggest as issues go, the rocking of the boat wasn't really one to be concerned with. I'd say the platform stopped in the last quarter of 2005 when the ride was given all new operational procedures, and I'd estimate that combined with a couple of other changes it went from being able to push through 800pph to about 500pph. Sadly the operation of that ride still is being hacked at, with the ride now being run by a single person rather then 3 like it had been for 15 years, and the Coast Guard uniform has been dropped in favor of the generic park uniform. *Side rant, and pay attention because this one is kind of confusing:* Bermuda Triangle's load area is themed to a Coast Guard base, but rather then the uniform being a Coast Guard costume, staff now wear the same uniform seen on everyone in the park from the shop attendants to Research and Rescue staff. Jet Rescue on the other hand, is themed that you are helping the Research and Rescue staff perform a mission, but for some reason those staff have a different uniform to what real Research and Rescue staff wear. Which poses the question, if you're getting ride of a ride specific uniform for one of the rides, why get rid of Bermuda's where the uniform actually matches the theme of the ride instead of Jet Rescue which really only has a different uniform for the sake of it?

Amusing Gold Coast Bulletin article
Either Stan Durkin was severely misquoted about new portable rides coming to Australia later this year, or AALARA urgently needs a new president: However, not to be out done, Gold Coast show manager Doug Reiser had some inspired views on amusement parks, which go along way to explain the ride lineup of the Gold Coast show in recent years: Full article Thrills go for Gold Coast Show

China builds first sex theme park
Gazza, even if its adults only, its still public. The question is how is it inappropriate? First time I've heard of a theme park being torn down before its opened. Plus it is nice to see the communist dictatorship taking a moral stand against sex for being 'evil'. Irony may be dead in the states but at least its alive and well in China.

Sea World Pirate Ship for Sale
The train is still on the site, so hopefully it will come back to life by next Xmas. It'd be sad to see a perfectly workable attraction closed off with no replacement. I don't think it would take much to make it a decent attraction, perhaps just an on-board video and interesting audio to give people somthing to keep them occupied when traveling behind Shark Bay and Polar Bear Shores. Heck, even if it only did 3 or 4 laps a day it would be better then scrapping it for good.

What would you do if 'you' owned or managed DW?
I don't get why a Top Spin with fountains has never showed up at a water park. I think that would be an ideal attraction for somewhere like WnW where realistically, another slide isn't going to do much to budge attendance and everyone is dressed for a wet ride anyway. As for Wipeout, its still the best model of topspin I've ridden, and I think it's such a strong ride that it doesn't need to be changed for the sake of change. Plus there's no shortage of rides and areas at Dreamworld that could do with some love (Thunder River, Rocky Hollow, Blue Lagoon, Ampitheatre Imax, Captain Sturt and Main Street to name a few)

The Off Topic Topic
I'd never heard of this place before last week, and funny enough, I have bookmarked the site with the intention of having a really good look over it. I think the pick of the site is the park info page, which includes this gem: And yes, this is the sort of dodgy little park that I love

Scooby break down
lol, that would be the first time I've ever seen anyone imply that an e-stop prevents a ride stop. In a normal evac torches are used (not surprisingly) to give the guests a better view of where they're stepping, this is mostly useful where there is a step that isn't lit up well by house lights, and when assisting guests exit a ride vehicle.
