Rocky Hollow Log Ride Demolition - Dreamworld
Yeah 100% agree with all the above, worded it better than I could have. Don't open ST before the rest of the park is ready. Birthday is also a great idea, it's a great date to symbolically relaunch the park. I'm sure this sort of thing would be on their radar too, but it would be a such a massive shame if ST was launched only for the rest of the park to let it down.

Rocky Hollow Log Ride Demolition - Dreamworld
Just throwing a question out there, in everyone's opinion, what does DW have to do to stick the landing with ST, and would it worth holding off on opening ST for a month or two until other things are done? ST needs to be a 'we're back!' moment, almost a full relaunch for DW. Can you do that with a closed Buzzsaw, train, and the landscaping under ToT's old track still needing doing? Is ST good enough that no one will care, or does what's left of the park need to be absolutely *perfect* to give ST a chance of doing for DW what it needs to do? Would be interested to hear what people think.

Well to be fair, that's a bit pompous lol

Yeah wow.

Asking a follow up is fine. Saying someone is a wanker for not automatically revealing why they know a particular thing seems quite rude.

Is that a prop from schondingers movie. I haven't seen it, is it good or bad?

Is there such a thing as unused movie props?

Dreamworld’s BuzzSaw is Retiring
I don't understand, do you think adding another quality ride in front of a quality ride will make people less likely to go or will make the vista less impressive? Actually that's probably why they got rid of Buzzsaw, finally ST will be viable from the highway 😀 Edited to add: This post was proudly sponsored by strawman arguments. Dreamworld’s BuzzSaw is Retiring
Thats kind of the thing though. I have zero nostalgia for Buzzsaw and how it looks, but I guarantee you there are people who grew up with it who are and think there should be a ride there and that's kind of what it should look like. You build that kind of ride there in a few years and it'll tickle the nostalgia berries of a whole generation. Maybe you'd get that from a 4D, but you'd absolutely get that from a sky rocket

Against is a strong word, but they don't excite me particualy. Purely a personal taste thing. I also haven't been on one, so I would try and stay open minded during construction, from what I've seen I think most people think they're good fun.

Ride count aside, I won't miss it. It's a pity they couldn't stretch it out for another couple years till (hopefully) the next new thing opens. Wouldnt be against adding a Premier sky rocket to that exact site. 😆

I think the design of Blue Fire, aside from the backwards spike is pretty well sorted out at this point

Sea World reduces operating hours
I get by what you're saying, but if you open at 11.30 all that'll happen is you'll lose lunch as well as the dinner that they already don't get closing at 5.

I'd say they'll do it almost exactly like how Village do it.

Exactly what I'm saying. If you had that setup, how much money would you make verses the current arse about model? My hunch it would be a decent amount more, and would make investments in extra ride capacity more worth while. Incidentally, if anyone wants to R&D this product which lets face it pretty much every park will want, I'll happily sell the idea for a small fee.- Steel Taipan Construction - Dreamworld Mack launched roller coaster
Step 1. Get a wristband Step 2. Wear said wristband Step 3. Walk halfway across the park Step 4. Queue up Step 5. Pay and provide address for digital photo delivery That's not handy. By the time you've done that the adrenaline had worn off, and when you see the queue at the photo shop with no adrenaline, do you know what? Maybe Susie's face isn't so funny that we need to buy that photo after all. I know there are a lot of passes and things floating around, but most people STILL enjoy parks by going to them, and enjoying them in a spontaneous way. I'm not anti wristband to keep your photos together, but it's one more stupid system for people need to learn in order to spend money.- Steel Taipan Construction - Dreamworld Mack launched roller coaster
"You can jump through a bunch of hoops and pre purchase on ride photos" is not not even nearly the same as "You just got off the ride, $10 for a digital onride photo, right now, no bullshit"- Steel Taipan Construction - Dreamworld Mack launched roller coaster
Sort of related to the 'capacity v income' thing, one stat I would love to have is how many onride photos are sold per 1000 riders. As in, aside from pure make your park better, intangible stuff, what is the tangible result to revenue when you increase capacity? Also what would it do to revenue if the kiosks at the end of rivals, instead of showing you a video and scanning a barcode, that you then take across the park, queue up and then buy, what would it be if it was 'Buy a digital copy of your photo NOW, $10 Eftpos only, with a QR code in the email to get it printed in park for the remainder of the cost? If the stats exist, surely you could make a decision outside of the intangible 'The queue is too long' and have a way of quantifying the return on increased capacity.- Steel Taipan Construction - Dreamworld Mack launched roller coaster
I don't understand why this can't be fixed with simply programming and some catwalk- Steel Taipan Construction - Dreamworld Mack launched roller coaster
It was mentioned a while back that only one train would have the spinner. Also the 'high capacity' train is the same as both Rivals trains. It actually seems a shame to me that they couldn't get at least one more so they can run 3 in the summer peak, and ALWAYS run 2 in the smaller peaks. Blue Fire has 5 and runs 4 for comparison. I think that with our peak periods spread out over the year, there really is a compelling case for one train more than the coaster can handle at Australian parks but ST could literally handle it. Also with 2 trains, the mid course block run is just a pointless mood killer. Pity we couldn't get a nice floater airtime hill there. Also just on that video: "What will the guest experiemce be like" "How so do you ensure maximum excitement and safety?" "The device" "An opening crew member of Steel Taipan" "People occupied dispatches" "Manual handling procedures" My god who talks like this? Did anyone see Big Dippers announcement and think 'I wonder what the guest experience will be like?'. It's a roller coaster, people have a pretty good idea what the guest experience will be like. I also have never heard anyone say 'The device' who wasn't just trying to sound smart. You know the more I think of it, the more I think my first paragraph of disappointment was influenced by having just watched the 'behind the scenes'- Meerkats at Paradise Country
What that sounds like to me is that they might be in a temporary exhibit. This sort of thing happens when you have to take the animals on before the permanent one is finished. - Steel Taipan Construction - Dreamworld Mack launched roller coaster
