  1. You said that when DW reopened as a website Parkz slammed them. Utter nonsense. Then you defend that by saying 'Well I remember you did'. Who cares what you remember, what you remember is wrong.
  2. https://www.parkz.com.au/update/2016/12/16/442-Dreamworld_reopens_with_respect_and_dignity.html Stop talking shit
  3. I've yet to see anything open with good landscaping TBH. Presumably the whole entry structure is meant to have plants on it and I'd hope they're intending to have some greenery. The lack of shade around there is a thing that will need to be sorted, some trees could go a long way towards making it a pleasant place to be
  4. Yeah like I remember not to shit my pants most days, I'm way smarter than a 3 year old
  5. 2 things: 1. Animals are not being mistreated, I made sure to mention that FIRST in my previous post, and I'll say it first again in this post. They (DW) don't grasp how important the animals are in the mix that is the park, and this is a recent thing to have happened. That's the allegation. Again, can't provide evidence or really go into it, so I don't mind or care if you don't believe me. 2. Ardent is what Macquarie Leisure became. It's pretty much the same company that's been running the park for basically the past 20 years. They can ABSOLUTELY get fucked. If you think that sentiment is based exclusively off of 50 people getting sacked I think you've missed the past 20 years of mismanagement at a Corperate level. I'm not going to carry on and say I hate everything that they've done at DW in that time, but I will say that the state the park is in now is a direct result of chronic under investment over the long term by Ardent leisure, which came about because they were more focused on Main Event. They didn't seem to really care what happened to DW so long as it was giving them a steady pile of cash to fund ME. So yeah, they can properly fuck off. Gary tried to make a go of it? Sure, but I suspect he under estimated how badly they'd fucked the place, and it's not a different company just because it's got a couple new board members.
  6. I've not heard anything that worries me in terms of animal welfare or anything like that, just want to get that sorted. I've just heard it said that there doesn't seem to be much value placed on the animal attractions and their role within the park, like they don't seem to ,'Get it'. While I've heard this from a couple places now, I'm still not really at liberty to really go deep into it and explore it, and I'm not offended if people go with 'He's talking out his arse unless he's going to reveal sources or what exactly he's heard'.
  7. Ardent can go fuck itself as far as I'm concerned. Zero sympathy at a corperate level for them from me. It took them 20 years to get someone who understands theme parks to run their theme park. They milked DW for everything, ran down every last cent, and only when it was too late did they start giving a shit. Imagine what that park could be now if they had started trying a long time ago, maybe if they started being not shit before 2016 even? I agree that Covid fucked them, and the talk out of the park was starting to be good (though they don't understand how important the animal attractions they have are, which is a worry) and I was willing to back them. One year of trying after you've fucked it doesn't undo 20 years though, so Macquarie Leisure / Ardent can totally fuck off.
  8. Do you mean morally or financially? I think unless they can unlock the value of their assets (Sell the land and lease back) or get outside help it's hard to see how they get out of it. Ideal world the bloke who owns Aussie World buys it as another passion Project. Nothing is impossible and presumably Gary is a smart man, but it's hard to see how they come back tbh
  9. I'll say it's nicely presented. It's not really themed or immersive, nor is it really decorated, but effort has gone into making it look nice. Honestly the weakest part of it is the whole 'Atlantis' thing. When I think of what a non themed but basically well presented modern ride at SW would look like, that's it. Exactly is it could've replaced Pirate Ship and not looked out of place in that unthemed part of the park. I still think it's the wrong ride for that place, and it's not really themed, but it's not like Sky Flyer where literally no effort went into even making it look presentable.
  10. The only way I see the coaster getting built is if the state government pays for it. They don't have any money they can use on DW, all their money, and all their new credit is locked in the States.
  11. Paint it green and theme it to the Matrix?
  12. If it's all virtual queuing, doesn't that mean that everyone will be on the paths and they'll be rammed? 🤔
  13. I don't know what point you're even trying to make any more. Have a nice time with that 🙂
  14. ... which still shits on the idea that it's all about the sale price.
  15. You know what I was ready to hate it before I watched, but thay was actually really good. Unusually creative. The only thing I'd say gets a mark down from me is the Village Logo, but overall, really good. Look forward to seeing what DW do.
  16. You still on about this? Why is Skypoint open then? Why is Currumbin Sanctuary open? Why is Australia Zoo open? Why is Aussie World open? According too Village opened too quickly when they shouldn't have because of their sale and disregard for health. Yet at the same time heaps of other things opened that aren't being sold? I mean even Home of the Arts which is government run is holding events again. So maybe people aren't glossing over the sale, but people have instead been able to look around and see how unremarkable it is that Village have started reopening at a time when everything else is. Also the increase in the offer price relies on both MW & SW being open. MW will be the last thing to open. If it was 100% about a sale, why didn't they rush MW to open with SW? As for Ardent; why did they have 50 staff more than they needed when they were trying to get back to a point of breaking even? Do they even business? They're further up the shit than people want to admit, and it makes me sad for DW. I hope there's some sweet state government money coming their way because I think that's the only realistic chance they have to survive.
  17. They have a high end premium section that's super awesome service, full proper drinks service, extra food offerings, meet and greet with the cast and a backstage tour. and costs like $250 a head. It's up the back but it's also it's own lounge. Top rail is a cheaper premium, you're sat directly in the middle downstage (so not on the sides) plus there's an extra drinks service or two and they throw in a program I think? Personally at Outback, from my experience I wouldn't be in the front row unless I was with people who couldn't climb stairs. There are 6 rows, I think the middle 4 rows, as close to downstage as you can get is where you want to be. The front row isn't bad as such, and being close is nice, but I think up a little higher is better, particularly since this show has the floor projection
  18. I totally agree with that. I think reviving the Flume would be a good way to spend a few million, but I don't see it as something that should still be there in another 42 years. Ideally in 10-15 You'd want to have a proper vision for how the middle of the park works. Reopening Flume just buys you time and helps fix the immediate problems the park will face in the medium term till it can be fixed properly.
  19. The only thing that's surprising about that is the arcade, as there are arcades that are open, and what's the difference between that and something like dodgems or tailspin? Otherwise not surprising really. Think it'll be a few rounds of eased restrictions to get everything back on track. Also controversial, I'd totally give them a pass for waiting till September to reopen WWW. I'm still totally of the opinion that the water parks should be open year round, but this year I'd be OK with it. There are no tourists from Victoria or NZ to give the full Gold Coast experience to, the only people up at the moment are locals and we ain't swimming. WnW opens soon enough and by the time WWW is ready to reopen WnW will have most of its stuff opened too.
  20. Yeah hadn't looked at the vouchers before, but agree that it's a good idea to encourage some extra spending on extras that pass holders wouldn't normally buy. Pass holders don't traditionally don't do things like stay at the resort or do a helicopter flight, so giving them a deal to keep those things ticking over is a winner to me in an environment where there are fewer tourists which is the normal market for those things. Locals get a deal to do things they don't normally do, the parks get to use that excess capacity that's currently being wasted and generate some revenue, win win I reckon.
  21. Yeah look as much crap as I hang on Atlantis I think the way they've done the concrete looks really good.
  22. 4th light from the left is the wrong colour
  23. I dunno that looks pretty clearly just on or above the 'O' in 'OF'. Was no where near that high by the end.
  24. Yeah it's really not a good look.
