  1. Are they still parking at Central Station forever for no good reason?
  2. Judging from the boats in the course that look like they've been evacuated I'd say broken down.
  3. Why what's wrong with Czech rides? (Not arguing I just don't know my traveling rides)
  4. I think it's sustainable. The newness factor has well and truly worn off and it's running off it's own sustainability at this point. I think the newness of the technology might see a boost of some kind, but ultimately it's sustainable if people enjoy the show regardless of the tech. If people see the new show and think it's good and tell their friends then it's sustainable, as it has been for the past 8 or so years since the newness wore off.
  5. The boom lift is for higher too. 👍🏻
  6. Sigh. Only 6 dates all of which miss peak the peak of peak season. Was also hoping they were going to do a night show with a bit more substance to it than just LAZERS AND FOUNTAINS but the public ate it up last year so can't blame them. Seems very phoned in. How about this though; Just as an experiment, why not try doing one Aquacolour show at 7.30 with rides till 7.00 for the 2 weeks after boxing day included in admission? All the crap is there for the show anyway and running all the rides for an extra 2 hours costs all of $1000 so not exactly going to break the bank. If you manage to sell <100 burger meals to the 2,000 odd people in the top terrace who might stick around you'll make that back. So go on, do something just a tiny bit above the bare minimum, just to mix things up a bit. EDIT: Also no Monorail. Can you try even just a little bit?
  7. I thought the water park expansion and new wildlife experience were the same thing 🤔
  8. Get back there, the coverage has been awful It's actually kind of interesting in itself; so much awful stuff has come out that DW seem to have maxed out the amount of bad press they can get. It's kind of like winning a fight by beating yourself to a pulp and making the enemy take pity on what a pathetic bloody mess you are.
  9. It's also priced high as a way of stifling demand so the average guest who has paid admission doesn't get the shits with it. If you put a cap on it and price it low you're upsetting all the peeps who have piss all money who want to skip. Price it high and the whole issue takes care of itself.
  10. It's about supply and demand. The 2 parks are completely different in terms of economics. Average wage in America for theme park guests is also way lower, you can just convert into Aussie $ and get any kind of idea.
  11. Another Dreamworld executive has taken to the stand and blamed the ride op. Such a disgraceful attitude. Anyone blaming the ops needs to get out if the industry pronto. You can't have a dangerous ride and that requires intervention to make it safe and then blame the staff member for not intervening, particularly a new staff member, particularly when intervention was not straight forward.
  12. You definitely need to get back there, the twitter updates from the press aren't doing it at the moment.
  13. Why bunch all the screens into such a small corner? Look how much space there is! Spread them out a little. Also Jet Rescue's exit being awful does not excuse this. It's pretty poor. Sorry just trying to get back to normal by having a rage about something that doesn't really matter after raging about something that very much does.
  14. This is probably the testimony I've been most interested in reading about, and all I can say is wow. Now we see the real cause of the issue, not $25 an hour ride ops not pressing a button, what he have here is a fundamental failure of a person overseeing the park's rides. The head of engineering doesn't know how the rides work but is in the position to make judgment calls about them? If he doesn't know how the rides work then why on Earth would anyone have told him that there's a problem? Not like he can do anything with that info. He'd been at the park for 4 years, the fact he didn't know how to run the rides is either a lie to cover up the fact he knew it was fucked, or he is terrible at his job. What amazes me the most is he's still there. He's still not a qualified engineer. He still hasn't taken any steps to mitigate the fact he's not a qualified engineer. He seems like he thinks not knowing how to operate the rides is OK. Elsewhere in his testimony he says he wasn't sure who had the job of making sure the rides are safe. I'll give you a clue, Head of Engineering; its you. It's your department, you set the agenda. Your agenda didn't see you making the effort to get to know the rides you were managing. Had you have taken the smallest bit of interest you would have known the ride's control system was a mess. I have zero confidence in the safety of any rides he's in charge of, and to be honest I wouldn't trust him to change a tire on my car. He doesn't need to go because of PR, he needs to go because he's a danger to the community in his current role. I know on this forum we can get hung up on trivial stuff like 'the wall is ugly now the tree has been cut down' or 'drinks should be in meal deals' so important points can get lost. But here's the thing, this person was allowed to continue to be in a position of authority while having no idea about his area of responsibility and feeling no need the change that. Other staff have had problems with the computer systems and encountered 'push back' from Ardent about safety issues, but they were all people who legitimately tried to make it better before something happened. Right here is someone who straight up was the problem, and continues to be the problem. A bubble of pure incompetence at the top of the engineering food chain. I don't care who you are, you cannot fail that badly at a job and be given a second go at it.
  15. I thought an Earthquake was supposed to have just happened?
  16. The policy is probably to stop people from parking at the resort who aren't resort guests as the carpark is undersized as is, and also to stop people trying to game the entry system adding an extra wait to resort guests.
  17. Nah the only reason to have a function in Scooby's queue is to also have the ride booked. Otherwise as a venue it's just fiberglass castle walls with no toilets. Each to their own and sure some must like it but makes no sense to me. Although now I'm thinking about it MW doesn't really have a great function room, IDR, Rick's and maybe stars? Scooby queue is starting to make sense
  18. How bleak to have a function in the Scooby queue without also being able to hire Scooby.
  19. Its a pretty dumb move to delay handing over docs. They might've stood a chance of having it almost over now but now it'll drag on into and affect peak trading. No one is going to plan a theme park trip or buy theme park tickets before Christmas now. That shit doesn't just affect them either, that's a drag on the industry, so good going there.
  20. Hopefully practical sets.
  21. Signs that the park is second to the park..
