Adventure World 2015 - 'Mi2' Kraken Tornado slide
I must admit I'm a fan of rides with 'Dark' themes. The U.K. Parks do it well (special shout out to Mark's old company for the best examples). I hope if Adventure World do it they can keep the sinister themed stuff contained within one area, and keep the rest of the park bright and happy. This however, is from someone who hasn't actually been to the park before, so I could be saying stuff that wouldn't suit the park at all. Reckon I'll have to make a trip over there this season to see what it's all about.

Aussie World: new attraction/s 2016
It would be very sad to see it go. On the other hand though if it does go what sort of room does that open up for the park? Maybe time for a big (for a park that size) modern coaster? Imagine what a Boomerang would do for that place? Particularly if it had Vekoma's new non sucky restraints

2016 for Movie World
Yeah pretty much, it's a free app which is well worth a download to just to see what it does. Basically you order and pay for your food on the app, and it sends you a notification when it's ready. Haven't used it, but it seems like a really good idea.

2016 for Movie World
Yeah that's the spot. It makes a ton more sense when you consider that some of the existing carpark will probably be used up with the new developments. I think the Childcare worker is talking out her backside. Bigger poctureI can't imagine that 100s of new jobs in the area would be bad for business.

I'd say a bridge would likely be part of the proposal.

Maybe it would, but that doesn't mean you or anyone else needs to complain when someone goes to the effort of posting a photo.

2016 for Movie World
I apologise for the orientation and size of this photo, but I won't be home for a while and this is apparently how my phone wants to post the picture. I spotted this in the paper today. Seems Movie World wants to build a carpark across the road from its current carpark, which is a good move considering how ordinary the parking situation is at present during summer, and how it promises to get worse with all the new developments. As you'd expect, locals ask, "Will someone please think of the children!"

Wild West Falls Refurbishment
I don't get it, people complain when there aren't enough updates, and complain when stuff looks the same for a while and photos look to similar to what we've already seen. If you see a new photo and it looks the same as last week, you don't have to complain, just take it as an update that things haven't changed on the ground?

Sea World updates 2016
Yeah they had a BBQ set up in the area doing burgers and BBQ sausages and the like. I'm quite harsh on the park as you would all have noticed but it was good to see them put in a bit of effort by making sure they were still places open

Dreamworld Q&A
I like the idea of pop music in areas that suit it, so in Ocean parade it works, because it's the music that surfers listen to. Does it work on Gold Rush country? IMHO no. What about Main Street? Probably not. The same way that it wouldn't work on Main Street at movie world. What should they play? Disney songs? Look I don't think so but I struggle to suggest something else that's both generic and magical. Is Dreamworld the only park that has both Dreamworks and Disney represented?

The Off Topic Topic
So Frozen opened at EPCOT And here's a handy side by side of the ride it replaced Predictably, despite the new ride being better in pretty much every way, the Disney Fans can't quite bring themselves to like it. The comments on the different videos are hilarious, and since I can't sleep, I've decided to answer their comments on here, so here are the things that people say they don' t like about this ride, along with my response: 'The ride has no story'. Actually the story is simply that you're visiting Arendelle in summer and they're letting you in Elsa's fortress- it's the story of your trip to Arendelle. Ok so not much of a story maybe, but it's certainly more than Maelstrom's 'these scenes are all kind of about Norway but there is no coherent plot or really anything else connecting them' 'It lacks heart'. Yeah because that oil rig and random polar bear statue had so much heart 'They've closed in the outside but'. So? The outside bit did nothing when you were on the ride except let light in and it wasn't that amazing when you were outside looking in. 'Frozen is a fad and it won't be relevant for long'. Yeah, in the same way that Snow White, Dumbo, Cinderella Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast have been totally forgotten, soon Frozen will be forgotten too. Yeah, just because it's not in theatres, doesn't mean that the next several generations of little girls (and boys to a lesser extend of course) won't be brought up with frozen as a big part of their lives. 'It doesn't belong at EPCOT'. I can kind of understand that as its changed the direction of the park, but times have changed, move on. The direction of the park is changing, and people are voting with their feet. I'm sorry about that but it's true. 'It's not much of an upgrade than what was already there'. Ah what? Did you see the old ride? The new is better. Seriously, name one bit of the old ride that is better? Maybe I'll give you the waterfall before the drop. Somewhat related to this, someone else also complained about getting rid of Maelstrom for a short ride, without realising this is longer 'There's too much blue' Yeah, it's a Frozen ride, what did you think the main colour palette would be? 'I liked Maelstrom because it didn't have a line' Unpopular rides = better rides? Well then, bring back Superstar Limo and I hope they never replace Stitch at MK! 'It's not educational, the park is supposed to be educational!' The park is supposed to be entertaining and profitable. They've found out that want to have fun when they're on holidays. And really what did you learn on Maelstrom? That those who seek the spirt of Norway face peril and Adventure, but more often find beauty and charm? 'It's not worth waiting 5 hours for' I don't think any ride is. Most of the complaints are pretty light weight. I've got a theory that most of the complaints are from adults who can't accept Frozen as a Disney classic (which it clearly is) because it's not a beloved part of their own childhood. New Disney stuff is always supposed to take a backseat to the classic stuff they grew up with. 'Frozen wasn't around when I was a kid, and I don't want it interfering with the Disney that I grew up with and love!'. Anyone who just admits that's that why they don't like it instead of making up lame excuses to try and justify themselves will have my respect.

Topgolf attraction coming to the Gold Coast
This isn't golf though. Yes there's clubs and you hit a golf ball, but that's pretty much where the similarities end. The idea is there are big targets and the closer you get to one the more points you get, and all the scoring is done automatically while you have some food and hang out with friends. I would not expect a small kid to be any good at it, but they suck at pretty much everything anyway. You will get families, but more to the point you'll get groups of adult friends who are looking for a new activity to try, and while they're there they'll drink and have a laugh. I know on here there's a lot of focus on pro golfers and tourists, and wether the theme park crowd can sustain it, and how it'll go without accomodation, but honestly I feel like this as much for locals as anything. There are a lot of people living in the northern Gold Coast looking for something fun to do, my hunch is that'll be where 70% of the customers come from. I've always thought the name 'Top Golf' was a bit uninspired though, because you do hear the name and go 'sounds shit' almost as a reflex. But when you look into it, it looks fun, given the fact there's 23 of these places the local marketing must be pretty good. I wonder if it works will Ardent look at building a Main Event complex at Coomera, maybe somewhere near where the Amphitheatre is.

Topgolf attraction coming to the Gold Coast
I think there are a few people who aren't quite getting it. This isn't for serious golfers, this is a casual activity that friends can go do together. Again the best way to think about it is a bowling alley. I suspect a lot of members here are too young to remember what bowling alleys used to be like, but it was always plain fluro lights, with no music or bar. These days it's all glow in the dark balls, loud pop music, bar foods and cocktails. Basically they're doing what they did to bowling alleys to a driving range now. Not only that, but there's also a game element to it with targets and all sorts of other fun things going on with the technology to make the main experience more fun. If it's anything like the places in the states there's also licences arcades and a few other things there. How often do you go bowling? Because that's probably roughly how often you'll go to this.

I think the fact that most people don't know where in the forum it is and many don't recall seeing it, that it's very much at home in this thread. Looks pretty cool I reckon

Topgolf attraction coming to the Gold Coast
Well take care of the first item, it's not a theme park expansion. Auatralian Outback Spectacular is as much a Wet 'n' Wild expansion as Top Golf is a Movie World expansion. As an attraction, I think it'll work because it's as much sports bar as it is driving range, it's a casual game like bowling but in a place that people would be happy to spend a bit of time. It is to golf what Strike bowling is to bowling. There really isn't much like this in Australia, but these types of things are quite popular in America, anyone whose been to a Dave & Busters or a Main Event center will kind of know the level this is being pitiched at. I'd be surprised if I don't end up going there occasionally on actual nights out. I think if they can build it in such a way that it's also integrated with the future entertainment precinct, it'll go from something where you go, 'Oh Ok well that's kind of cool' to something that headlines a cool place for people to hang out, in a similar vein to the Lake at Robina Town Center or Circle on Cavil

Dreamworld Q&A
Wow this is an exciting day! We've never had an actual koala join the forums before so this is a first! Seriously, thanks for answering so many questions in such a surprisingly frank and honest way. I have one(ish) question; over the past few years there has been a noticeable improvement in the upkeep of the park, with many facilities having been renovated and refreshed. From the information you've gathered, have the guests noticed that the park is looking better? Is guest satisfaction higher, and has this translated to better attendance/per caps?
