  1. Channel 7 just confirmed the log ride is open again, and then called it a roller coaster. Well done channel 7
  2. If memory serves correctly they, did too until Wet 'n' Wild wouldn't let White Water West sell them one
  3. I've learnt to filter out click bait and I recommend others do the same. In the meantime, we've updated facebook with something a little more sane
  4. @reanimated35 I can't judge, at one point I totally went with the post that said he was doing handstands
  5. But the ride didn't stop? It sounds like he was standing up, and the change in movement of the boat as it goes onto, or off of, the belt caused him to lose his balance, and fall backwards. Would make sense at the bottom of the conveyor as its a reasonably dramatic change in acceleration and slope. We are of course leaving out the possibility that he panicked and climbed out, which for a change in comfortable with
  6. There's really no point in speculation, we just won't know what happened until it comes out through the wash. OK now with the sensible part of the post out of the way; how did he manage to fall past the boat that would have been at the bottom of the hill? It would make more sense if it was the first hill.
  7. Two of those are actually quite funny
  8. Is the bacon halal? Seriously though what's the go with it? How is it served?
  9. ^^ I'd expect that the procedure would be to contact a supervisor, advise them that there's a medical emergency and the supervisor would call the ambulance and liaise with them to get the paramedics to the incident. In the mean time, the park would dispatch their own first aid and other operations staff/managers to the scene who would provide basic treatment and make sure the guest is not in harms way, as well as performing crowd control in the area.
  10. Ah well that makes more sense haha I don't think there's anything saying the ride broke, my money is still on horse play, and if the lady who reckons she saw it happen is to be believed old mate was standing up at the top of the hill. I too am a bit skeptical as to how she would have seen it, given how far away it is and the fact it's enclosed, but I guess we'll see how it turns out
  11. Barring a catastrophic failure, probably the best way to fall out of the log ride is to stand up and rock the boat. EDIT: Doing handstands works too. If the post about is true, my god how breathtakingly stupid. I mean sure, normal people do stupid things sometimes, but not THAT stupid. that's a whole other level of moron, I hope the headline can be changed to 'Adult idiot injured doing the sort of bullshit that even a 12 year old would think is stupid'
  12. That's the best way to enjoy these events, particularly Carnivale. If you go in expecting to go on rides you're probably going to be disappointed, but if you get there early, and go in wanting to soak in the atmosphere, watch the street performances or try some different food (maybe go on a ride) you'll have a good time.
  13. Oh was that a serious suggestion?
  14. Terminator, Alien and Water World all made the leap to theme park attraction, and none of them are exactly kids movies.
  15. In Movie World's defends I think the other problem is there really aren't many movie WB/Village releases that lend themselves to theme park attractions, and those that would work quite well as a theme park attraction (Harry Potter, Lego, Kong) someone else already has the rights to. Those films that could work quite well as a theme park attraction aren't exactly films that will stay relevant for long either, so I can't say I really blame them for sticking with DC comics as much as they have, because the characters are not going anywhere, and there are a ton of DC movies coming out.
  16. Physical sets is a point of difference.
  17. No I mean Mad Max would have been a great transition theme between the 'Classic Hollywood' theme and Western Town, taking over the area of Western Town that Doomsday is taking over, and if you really want the Villans area, put it in the Lethal Courtyard near Arkham where it would fit with the area.
  18. ^ I think one of the key differences with the Universal example, is that for the most part, Movie World is basing their rides off the comics, not the Movies. It's not something that's bothered me, but I think it's getting a bit out of hand with this ride and (I bet) the next ride being DC themed. I think they missed a real opportunity by not making this current development based around Mad Max. What I'd love to see as an attraction is a Movie Museum, (much like the one at the Warner Brother's Studio Tour in LA). There's some really cool bits of stuff still in storage if you know the right people, and I think you could squeeze something into the front of the park quite nicely, just to fill the movie void until they do an attraction actually based on a movie.
  19. I like the idea of Boardwalk games more than spongebob. Don't get me wrong either the SpongeBob idea is good, it's just when the license or interest for SpongeBob goes away you're stuck with a dark ride you need to fix up. I think if you can take traditional Boardwalk carnie games and turn it into a shooting dark ride game you can play with a laser blaster using practical sets then you might be on a winner.
  20. In a strange way I almost feel like that ride is too good to go with my proposal. When the time eventually does come for a new dark ride, that's the sort of thing I'd like to see replace the 3D theatre, or maybe even at the front of the park taking over the area from the skyway station around to the HR building. It's too good for what I've done. I also think whatever the shooting dark ride is, it should just be fun. No trying to learn stuff, no skewing too young, no hard to follow setup. I feel like trying to photograph animals, or shine a flashlight skews too young, and don't forget the shooting dark ride is supposed to be a giant real life video game you can ride, as well as paying homage to the original ghost train at Grundy's in Surfers.
  21. The thing I'd add to that last line, is even if it isn't compulsory, it is blowing the queues out. I'm slightly more open to the idea, I hate VR and it makes me feel sick, and I think that's partly because the g-forces and what you're seeing don't match up no matter how good the simulator is, so this seems like something that might fix that issue and I wouldn't mind giving it a go. But putting it on a big new coaster seems like it'd be potentially redundant to me.
  22. What are you supposed to do with the other 55mins?
  23. Still a better concept art image than new Wonderland
  24. Haha would people want to play that though?
  25. That'd be a great set up for a ride wouldn't it; "You're a Japaneae whaler in the Southern Ocean..." Also I forgot to answer, I use sketch up
