  1. That is also unsubstantiated from the park Yoshi. I posted an interview with Warwick Dougherty , managing director of LPS , over a year ago, at the time of the introduction of Hair Raiser. In that interview, he stated that LPS had a 5 year plan but at no time were individual rides or numbers of rides mentioned. I think that this has been diluted by time and Chinese whispers into what you and Kingda Ka is reporting as being official. Unfortunately, at this time, it is far from official and can only be filed under idle speculation.
  2. Read the whole thread instead of glossing over things and focusing on what you think is relevant.
  3. *sigh* Guess your not going to take the advice. Your original statement was incorrect as it was written. If thats what you meant, then form your thoughts correctly and coherently. We are not mind readers and can only respond to what is posted, not what is in your head. This is also inaccurate and I have corrected you on this in an earlier post , but, once again, you chose to ignore it. Warick Dougherty, the LPS representative said they were looking to upgrade the park in a 5 year time frame. Ride numbers were never mentioned nor were individual rides. That is all that is official from the park. 5 in 5 was NEVER mentioned. Anything else is just idle speculation. Anything that is inaccurate or bullshit WILL be called out on these boards.
  4. I was responding to your initial post in which you stated that Powersurge's are "fair" rides and not permanent. I called you out on this incorrect statement and proved you wrong. You cannot change the meaning of your original post after the fact like you are attempting to now. Powersurge's, whilst not my first choice , are as valid a ride choice as any other flat for possible inclusion at LPS. And I will moderate my sarcasm when you stop being a disrespectful, annoying know it all. The tension that you have been experiencing from several other long term , well respected members is because of your attitude. Taking a deep breath, stepping back and toning down the "I know it all" attitude will go along way to alleviating the situation somewhat. Just a piece of friendly advice. Up to you if you take it.
  5. You do realise, in all your infinite wisdom, that Power Surge's, made by Zamperla, are available as a park model, as well as a trailerised version? In fact most manufacturers offer park versions of their travelling rides. Most travelling rides can be made as a permanent attraction and vice versa. Your definition of the Power Surge as a "fair ride" as you coin it, is inaccurate and incorrect.
  6. Correct but the ride principle remains the same.
  7. Fundamentally I agree with you however it is called Jamberoo Action Park. The park is marketed as more than just a water park, even if that just essentially refers to the park's 2 excellent toboggan runs.
  8. They are a very similar ride but the restraints on Moon Ranger are fairly unique-it is a Huss ride and the Ranger was the first of this type of ride to appear. Pharoah's Fury is manufactured by Meisho. It is a good ride but it is essentially a cheaper version of Huss's pioneering attraction.
  9. Yes... A Zamperla family tower- larger than a Frog hopper but designed for families in mind. It's called the Coney Island Top Drop.
  10. Yep your in luck!! The old girl should be up and running although I think they havent quite finished the facade as yet. Enjoy!! Take plenty of pic's and I look forward to a trip report from you!!!
  11. Hey Iwerks did you visit LPM yet? If so how was your trip?
  12. Maybe that's because you watch the same POV's over and over.....
  13. Reanimated that's a bit unfair. Yoshi's posts are at least as good of quality as Kingda Ka's.........
  14. Thats the one!! I was just going to edit my post but you beat me to it. This model was manufactured by the SPF Visa group. Do you know if Oneill's still own it? It has not done any of the majors for several years other than one disastrous appearance at the Sydney Royal Easter show and I was under the impression that it had been sold and moved on?
  15. I think you may be referring to the "Rage" travelling tower coaster. As far as I know it only lasted one season here in Australia on account of its unreliability. I am pretty sure it is no longer in the country but I could be wrong.
  16. Thanks Iwerks!!! Great photos!!!! Looks like fun- did you indulge and ride??
  17. How about a Dippin Dots guy?? Every theme park needs one of them!!
  18. And Yoshi you need to note that this is simply your idle speculation- none of this has been confirmed by the park on what rides are being replaced ( if they are at all) nor on the actual time frame. All we have is a reference point that the park is looking to upgrade its ride offering within a 5 year plan. No actual dates have been mentioned. There has been reference to some rides getting older and needing to be retired but no actual ride has been named. Now it can be argued that the HUSS rides are the obvious choice and I would agree with that , but until we have an official press release from the park or something similar, then please do not pass speculation and musings as absolute truth. That would be wrong , at this point in time.
  19. It will have to happen at some point Brad. I am confident that DW could put into place a construction timeline that would include Buzzsaw and Thunder River Rapids remaining open for at least part of any new construction. Of course, of the 2, and given how closely linked Eureka and Thunder Rapids are, Thunder Rapids would be the most affected. Hey- if it meant that DW would finally replace Eureka, I am sure we could all put up with sporadic closure of Buzzsaw and Thunder. Hope it happens sooner rather than later.
  20. Either would be great but the Zacspin would be the better option in a space poor park like LPS.
  21. Yes please pick Motocoaster whilst you are there. Also some pics would be great as well. Thanks in advance.
  22. I would support a new coaster in Maloney's Corner but consideration has to be given on its size. Maloney's corner is a very valuable piece of real estate for LPS to be taken over by one ride only. There would be very little room to relocate the other rides within the park. That is why the Tumblebug slab would be the preferred option for any new coaster IMHO- it would leave more room for other attractions and allow more flexibility. It's another reason that I feel that a smaller compact coaster would be successful. A Skycoaster replacing Flying Saucer? What a positively horrible idea.
  23. Spider is running at exactly the same speed it always has. It is designed to operate much faster. It is not really looking that great either-it has not had a refurb since 2005. The only refit Moon Ranger has had was in 2005, and again when they attached the sound proofing device over its main gear shaft-as I stated in my previous post. It had a name change to Moon Ranger 2 years ago with a new backdrop added-is this what you are referring to? Trust me on this-Wild Mouse is heritage listed and protected. The Big Dipper Entrance adds to the overall ambience and theming of the place-why would they tear it down? That would be a silly idea at this stage especially since LPS retain the rights to the name "Big Dipper". Lastly one question-are you and MrMe still in school?- just curious.
  24. Bit premature to be quoting Tango Train as going? Lets wait for an official announcement or at least something more concrete than "your opinion". Tango is an old ride though. It first appeared in the 1980's incarnation of the park and has remained ever since. Rotor or Ferris Wheel are obviously going nowhere as well. Rotor falls into the historical aspect and is unique to LPS history. Its place is assured in the park's ride lineup. Wild Mouse and Coney Island, as has been explained numerous times on these boards, are heritage listed. So that just leaves the remaining HUSS rides. I've said it once and I will say it again, you do not have to be a genius to see that these rides are getting old and are ripe for replacing, especially if its already been stated on these boards before. I am very cynical about any new Dipper rumour and will believe it when I see it. What intrigues me is the upcoming replacement for the Flying Saucer. Its such a unique position that it is important that any ride placed there utilises its potential to its utmost. A Powersurge would work well but I hope LPS get something a little different, especially considering LPM have just installed one earlier in the year. My preference is still to move Tumblebug to this position, freeing up this space for a larger attraction. Moon Ranger? I predict this ride to go next actually. It is looking tired and is quite loud. It had modifications fitted to it a number of years ago in the shape of a large box structure around its central gear mechanism. This was because it was subject to noise complaints from nearby residents. Thankfully, this cannot occur again. Spider just needs some love-it is still running fine, albeit a little slower than it COULD run. I think it will be the last HUSS ride to be replaced . It requires its fantastic "Spider" bridge from the 90's restored. Same for the Tumble bug's. Would go a long way to injecting some much needed atmosphere in Maloney's corner and less random "plonking".
