  1. Yeah 100% agree here guys. I am pretty certain from what I have been told that the Maloney's Corner will receive a much needed facelift with the ongoing $25 million new ride investment. If they can reproduce something on the level of their recent refurb of the Helter Skelter cafe then it bodes very well for what is to come. Thats excellent @19Michael96. Its these small attention to details that make such a difference- lets hope that they continue this with actually finishing the decorative roof on the left hand side of the Helter Skelter cafe as you pointed out a couple of pages ago. LPS are also ramping up their Easter offerings with a special school holiday Funfest. As well as the new addition of Volare , there are also 2 temporary rides in Body Rock and Auto Racer. This is great value for anyone who is anticipating visiting the park over the Easter school holidays- it should see the park be quite busy!!!
  2. 😂 Exactly. It was a poor attempt at humour in the first place. It shouldn’t really rate a mention but there you go.
  3. Well you DID refer to it in this topic for humour!! Just adding to and keeping your humour alive!! 👍 And we only mention a tantrum when there is one.😝 A sook is a bit different as we have both established. 👍
  4. Ha!! That’s a very good question to ask AlexB.......😝
  5. Only if you have a sooky outburst............
  6. Yep having a sook is probably a perfect term for it. Ha!! Noted!! Consider it applied and fee paid. This is indeed the question of the hour. Perhaps some form of arrogance from PCL coming through? However, it possibly could have been handled a little more delicately by those at the park for what possibly could have been a more conducive outcome for all. Indeed!!!
  7. Absolutely agree with that. Its strange that they thought they could get away with it really, considering that its not ParkChat Live's first rodeo so to speak in regards to filming in parks. We all know that any filming in any park would require some sort of permission. Puzzling, to say the least. Oh indeed. I can live with a hissy fit. As i have stated before, the video , certainly had elements of frustration ( at their own stupidity perhaps?) and definitely came across a bit huffy. However, it never reached the heights of a full blown tantrum that it had been accused of. All in all, I think we can all safely agree that this is NOT the way to successfully conduct a live theme park filming......... AND just to put this to bed and end these somantics ,YES they are 2 definitions meaning exactly the same thing. The point is the word violent was used and accepted in the definition of a tantrum. It is a very valid point, for the purposes of this discussion. Not really relevant for mine. I was commenting on the video THAT was posted. It still served the purpose of communicating to their viewers that the Gumbaya plan had gone to shit. I know. I was alerted by the same video. That's how I was alerted. lol. Presumably since you follow them, you were too.
  8. I think that could work well. Very similar concept to Aussie World's Rock n Roll Rebel ( think enclosed Tango Train with said strobe effects) Yeah I would like to see Tumblebug at least be retained but I guess the future is uncertain for them all. Time will tell.
  9. Bingo. Clinging?? That IS the very definition of a tantrum, though.......sorry you seemed to miss that point. And you had better read the definition I posted a little more closely- here let me help you , putting in bold the operative words you are looking for " “a violent demonstration of rage or frustration; a sudden burst of ill temper.” Yep. Straight AFTER. Hence the need to inform their viewers about the cancelled trip report from Gumbaya World that WAS to be their LIVE event, communicating to their viewers who were waiting for the stream. Oh their communication was genuine alright. Did it contain saltiness, disappointment and frustration? Absolutely. But for the last bloody time, a temper tantrum it wasnt .
  10. Great pics mate- nice job!!! Yep the Volare is certainly looking to be a big hit for the park- the public are really loving it!! Great to see that the theming around the ride has been restored ( love that giant electrical plug -thanks for the pics on that @19Michael96!!) Looking forward to getting a ride on it as soon as I can. Yeah a little bit of love for them would be nice but I think like the Moon Ranger, their days at LPS are numbered. You can bet that in order to continue the $20 million ride reinvestment, these older rides are going to have to make way for the newer attractions as they come online. It would be nice to see them stay in Australia though- perhaps one of the Victorian theme parks like Funfields or Adventure Park or even Aussie World could be a potential home for these rare rides.
  11. Will not get an argument from me there. 100% agree. Yeah......nah. At the risk of going on ad nauseum, please see my other posts on this. IF you think this is a violent sudden burst of ill temper, then I don't think you have ever been exposed to one............. Please tell me how else they were expected to communicate to their audience that their plans had turned to shit- for what ever the reason? Seems reasonable to do a video for everyone to explain, no ,matter what frustration or saltiness seeped into it..........
  12. It really was. A small attempt at humour. 👍 Thought I would join the rest of the smart arsery on this board Didn’t mean to offend.😊
  13. Oh agree. No argument from me!!
  14. It was a throwaway comment mate. Not sure what everyone’s definition of a tantrum is but dictionary.com gives it as thus: “a violent demonstration of rage or frustration; a sudden burst of ill temper.” This video, whilst certainly exhibiting elements of frustration, saltiness and disappointment was merely a platform for informing their viewers of their planned trip review having gone awry. Now we can all comment on their reasons for being rejected and their reactions to this but let’s call this video for what it is. A video, explaining the reasons of why a planned trip review didn’t happen with a very restrained commentary of what happened in my opinion, doesn’t constitute a full blown tantrum in the very definition and meaning of the word. A tantrum it simply isn’t. And as I have stated before, I bear no great love for Parkchat live or even the presenter Ash.
  15. I guess they can join the hallowed ranks of theme park journalists like Rob Alvey in getting kicked out of a park for filiming eh DJ......... Like I said earlier, I guess they had to inform their viewers somehow that the heavily promoted Gumbuya review would not go ahead. There was certainly saltiness in the video but I reckon it was fairly restrained.
  16. I am not Park Chat Lives biggest fan don’t get me wrong. However, it’s my opinion that they can feel a little aggrieved at how they were treated- it certainly was not the friendliest reception. Given they have done numerous similar videos from other parks, it is disappointing to see such s new park like Gumbuya handle this with such a careless and insensitive way. The purpose of the video I guess was meant to inform their viewers that the Gumbuya World review would not be going ahead for the reasons given. It WAS heavily promoted on their site so they had to communicate it somehow. The last line certainly expressed disappointment and frustration but I think it’s a bit of a stretch to call it a full blown tantrum......
  17. Wow. Bit harsh don’t you think?? They contacted the park days before, who never got back to them. Funfields And Adventure Park didn’t have an issue. i would say that it’s rather poor form on the park and complete over zealousness on their part. The video was hardly a tantrum by the way.
  18. Only a slight delay...Volare's opening date has been confirmed as March the 24th.
  19. lol..yeah..not ready to call it Sky Voyager just yet!!!! In more serious tones, this may give the LPS team more time to maybe replace the backdrop to a Volare sspecific theme. Fingers crossed!
  20. Hmm. I do not live in either Melbourne or Sydney but have spent plenty of time in both, for work and leisure. I have driven extensively in both and traveled on public transport in both. In my mind, Melbourne is far easier to navigate than Sydney, in both pubic transport and for driving. You are right in that all cities are planned. Cities expand and out grow their initial planning and sometimes, due to geographical features or other considerations, the planning that follows is not always integrated with what has come before. Sydney was a much more organic city than Melbourne, growing out of the site of the first colony on the Australian mainland. By necessity, it was bounded by the harbour which is so integral to its character and lifeblood. Very hard to grid or plan around such a feature as this. Melbourne was much more planned but was also easier to plan and "grid", given the nature of its site. This is why Melbourne feels so much more programmed than Sydney in its layout. I love elements of both cities, but Melbourne for mine takes the title. There is a reason that Melbourne was name the most liveable city for 7 years in a row, from 2011 until 2017. Vienna has taken the mantle for 2018 with Melbourne 2nd. Sydney, to be fair was not that far behind, in 5th position, with Adelaide rounding out the top 10.
  21. Ha!!! I must have just missed you. I drove past there at 10:00pm on Saturday night for a quick looksee- my pics are dark sorry!! @19Michael96 is completely correct- the back drop has not been changed at all and all this will probably not change for the opening next Saturday. We can live in hope however. This was taken after the park had closed but with all lights still on due to a function being present. The park certainly does look excellent at night and is well presented with a calvacade of lights! This is where LPS and LPM come into their own- their night time riding experiences which is currently unique in the Australian theme park landscape. Love this about both parks. What appeared to be new ( or maybe I have not noticed them before!! ) is these very well presented new electronic signposting. These serve as information points for the park and also as advertising for upcoming events. The screens are not static as the maps shows rides moving etc. Nice touch by the park and it certainly brings some modern touches and also some classiness to the park and its overall presentation. Small touches but very welcome, especially for a park of the size of LPS. LPM please take note. The teaser video for Volare has hit Youtube and although simplistic, does an effective job of building the hype before the official launch of the ride next Saturday!! I will be unable to attend , but does anyone else have plans to go down next weekend?
  22. Yep. That was me. We hear so much shit on these boards that every unsubstantiated claim must be taken with a grain of salt. Especially since you trotted out that old chestnut " a ride op told me so it must be true" You had no previous history on the boards- I dont know you from a bar of soap. So I approached your news with caution. You were right in your claim. Good for you. However,I was not wrong in being sceptical and if someone else had made that claim whom did not really have a presence or prior standing on the board, I would do the same. It was nothing personal. To be fair Joz, Buzzsaw really isnt all that old........unless you include it as a result of being an unreliable ride?
  23. If not FunFields then perhaps Adventure Park or even Gumbuya World would be a good fit. It would be nice to see it stay in Australia.
