  1. Hi Tim, I hadn't heard of Dizzy Lamb - but I had a google. The paintball place have done a great job - restored the features of the park enough for them to be safe but left them looking creepy and abandoned. Much better than letting them sit there to rot!
  2. I haven't seen that video of Pripyat - how amazing is it! And only open for one day before it closed - super creepy, but it does make from some spectacular photos. Thanks!
  3. That was great - definitely hadn't heard about the one in WA - or the one in Africa. So creepy! Thanks for sharing!
  4. I don't remember Magic Kingdom, but my mum says we definitely went there. I asked her if she meant Wonderland? But its so cool we still have an abandoned amusement park in Australia - most of them have since been demolished or turned into something else (wobbies world).
  5. That was amazing! They also had one on Geuga Lake which was fascinating. Thanks for sharing! I haven't heard of Williams Grove - I'll have a google now. Beautiful picture!
  6. I haven't heard of Celebration City - but will have a google now Six Flags is cool - probably because its such a modern park. Pictures I have seen show Sponge bob, Avengers theming - I think that gives it another creepy factor as it has that sort of branding - as opposed to more of an old fashioned, generic amusement park without the licenced characters.
  7. Sincerely hoping none of our current parks go that way. But yes - being a Victorian, I have fond memories of Wobbie's World, and also of Wonderland Sydney. I feel out current major parks are in good standing at the moment - so hopefully they won't be lost in the near distant future.
  8. Yep, I've followed Adam! I like Six Flags, also Joyland and Geuga Lake. I also like the one at Pripyat - such a cool/scary story to go along with it. Sad that we don't have any abandoned ones in Aus.
  9. Has anyone ever been in an abandoned theme park? Have any cool photos to share? A girl I went to school with shared a picture of her jumping the fence to get into Nara Dreamland in Japan - so I just spent the past hour or so looking at pictures taken in it since it shut down in 2006.
  10. Yep - begging my bf to plan a trip by the end of the year. He has family in Brisbane so accommodation is free!
  11. Thanks so much for answering my questions @The Original Belinda Brown, much appreciated Yes, definitely time for a re-visit! Hoping to come up by the end of the year! I agree with you on the bush ranger show - too much time has passed and the kids of today wouldn't enjoy as much as older people would, more for the nostalgia. However, getting the Paddle Wheeler (or any kind of boat for that matter) would definitely make use of the river. Its such a prime area of the park that could be utilised more by adding such a simple attraction. But I am no engineer or developer so i wouldn't know how much time, money and effort it would take to have an attraction there. But thank you @Theme Park Girl that's really sad I thought that it had been moved out deeper in the creek where people couldn't see it - didn't realise it was long gone.
  12. Hi @The Original Belinda Brown thanks so much for answering everyone's questions I have one or two (or maybe three )for you if you do not mind I also apologise if these have been answered and I haven't noticed. Was Blue Lagoon solely closed because of WWW? Or where the other reasons due to its closure? What is to happen to the Big Brother house and stage? Seems a waste to tear it down - obviously it would be costly, but I imagine it may be on the future cards for DW to expand to include these areas in the main park. Will the Paddle Wheeler ever make a return? And the bush-gang show that you saw whilst on the boat? I felt this was a draw card for families looking for something relaxing to do away from the crowds around the thrill rides. What is to happen to the Australian Experience, and more notably, the Farm Animals area? I'll admit, I haven't been to Dreamworld since 2012 - but I remember going on the DW Express and the farm animal area just sitting abandoned. Also, a major of Eureka - Can't wait to see what may be in store for it!
  13. I didn't even realise there was every a fire in WWF - shows how out of touch I am. Its been 10 years since I was last at MW - so much has changed
