Lets Talk Wet And Wild Gold Coast
Intimidator305. replied to Prequel's topic in Theme Park Discussion
What slide could you come off of? The only one I can think of that would hurt someone is Jet Stream, but it's very hard to. Unless she fell out of one of the tube slides and something happened? And 'Come off' is very loose. Did she slip on the way out of the pool? Did she fall off of the slide? Did she fall out of the slide? -

I'm still hoping they put something in the middle of the superman helix. An observation tower would be nice (I know its in a different area to where your talking about. This would cost way more then it should. but it would be really amazing if the station was underground, and to get in the queue took you downstairs. Then they could sync the observation tower lifting with the coaster, so when you rose out of the ground, the coaster flew around you. This is just me nerding out. I hope they put some tower attraction there. I know they've got Batman, but an observation tower would do nice. And it would attract families into an area of the park thats all thrills. Just random ideas. This is the wrong thread, but I couldn't think of a way to put AlexB's quote in the other topic. But I can try and link it to the coaster. In the tower, you would be able to see the whole coaster, and families would interact and get to watch it go all the way out, turnaround and come back. From really high up it would be fun to watch. -

Personally, I think this will look really nice. It think it looks pretty good because it doesn't feel like its been slapped on the front of the park. -

If VR is anything to go by, that's not good... But I doubt that would be the case. Mammoth Falls is one of the best family slides there, one that everyone enjoys. And it has a conveyor belt so you don't have to carry the raft. It's one of my favorites. -

It appears VRTP has been busier than we first thought, with their plans for Sea Wolrd, New Movie World Coaster, and Wet n Wild GC. They're being very secretive about their plans, though. -

Sorry, my mistake, thanks for pointing that out. -
This makes a lot of sense. Considering it was the reopening of Dream World, they may not have actually planned for an announcement. But because the media was interested, they kind of had to say something or face the ridicule of many for not doing anything. Perhaps they actually planned to announce a big plan with multiple attractions later, but were forced to announce the replacement for Vikings Revenge early rather than announcing the big plan too early.

Doomsday Destroyer - reviews and feedback
Intimidator305. replied to Theme Park Girl's topic in Theme Park Discussion
So as this is a reviews and feedbacks post, I thought I'd share mine. The only time I've ridden the Doomsday Destroyer was on Fright nights, but I'm going to try and give a review. I really enjoyed this ride. It was pure fun. Not thrilling, not OMG I"M GONNA DIE, but more like WOAH, THIS IS ACTUALLY REALLY FUN. My only concern is that one of my friends said they started to feel a little sick, but this may have been because they had eaten a bit and the ride had some added revolutions for the Fright nights experience. I didn't find the ride something to shout at or tell everyone I know, but it is a very fun ride, that chews through the ride. Honestly, for what it does, I would give this a 9.5/10. I'm not saying its the greatest family flat ride, I'm just saying, for what it does, it does it very well. Very impressed VRTP. -

So, correct me if I'm wrong (I'm pretty sure I have been reading this since it started) but that layout looks more like the outline of the land rather then the layout of the roller coaster. Surely there will be some helixes or some twists. At the end of Flash at Lewa Adventure there was a big patch of twistiness. It probably doesn't sound like much, but adding that to the roller coaster could possibly take the length way up above where your guessing. (I swear I've seen some photos with footers in big clumps that look like a big twisty section). -

How awesome would it be if the new hyper coaster had some awesome lights on the track? It would light up at night kind of like Monster at adventureland. It would kind of create a beacon and an icon for the people driving down the high way. It would already be impressive in day time, but at night it would glow all over the road and become an icon. How cool does this look? it I know all it says is onboard lighting, but surely they could do something cool? Even with the park closed the lights would still be a beacon at night. -
Kolmarden? I wouldn't be upset if they changed it to a zoo like Kolmarden.

Viking's Revenge closure
Intimidator305. replied to Theme Park Girl's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Jobe, I would definitely move the Surfrider to Sea World. As mentioned in another thread, VRTP plan to replace Vikings Revenge with a NEW attraction by 2019, so I don't see the surfrider going there. But Sea World is definitely not pressed for space, so that's not a problem. VRTP never said anything about reopening old attractions so, it's not ruled out. I really enjoy the ride and would prefer to ride it not wet. It would also open up space for a future attraction at Wet n Wild. -
Can Dreamworld ever FULLY recover?
Intimidator305. replied to SunshineTom's topic in Theme Park Discussion
So, just from what you've posted, yes I think they definitely will recover. And I'm not sure about your attendance facts, but I really don't think judging a parks future success on their reopening day, with most rides closed, is a good idea. Also, school holidays don't start until Monday and it's not another week until NSW goes on holidays, so honestly I wouldn't expect big crowds, even if nothing had happened at the park. -
Well, the article says that Vikings Revenge will be replaced with a new ride in 2019. It didn't say they weren't planning anything else. Maybe there will be a few new attractions?

THIS IS A JOKE What if Sea World removed theirs and put it on top of Mammoth falls and they dueled? Then we'd get Wet n Wilds new ride, and there would be even more room for Sea World to do nothing with!!!! -

I just meant a genre in general. Like Space movies instead of Tron (I know tron is owned by a different company I wasn't suggesting that) but it just means that the park isn't limited to one movie. It's just an idea. I personally think it will be Flash, and as a keen watcher of the show and reader of the comics I would actually enjoy it a lot. -

I know its Movie World, but what if the ride isn't themed to movies? Like just a generic theme like Valravn. It could be themed to like mythology. Like dragons or something. -

I actually wish Australia was spoken about more in the Theme Park world... There are so many people who call themselves enthusiast and when discussing new rides around the world, completely ignore all rides in Australia that are exactly the same. For example: A new coaster coming to Sea World San Diego. Many are hailing it as completely new and original, and a lot wonder what the experience will be like. Come on... Just shows how overlooked Australia is. I swear it looks almost exactly the same as Jet Rescue, and Jet Rescue only got one mention I saw out of the heaps of discussions I've viewed on the wave breaker. I just hope that this new hyper will give the rest of the world a kick to look at Australia more. It may even catch the attention of more than just theme park enthusiasts... #lookataustralia -

I think Six Flags did a fairly good job of it. They named it Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth. Your riding Wonder Woman's Lasso, not Wonder Woman. There will always be people finding something to complain about though even with that name. -

You never know... it could be true.... Things that are highly unlikely and seem impossible are sometimes true... But I guess we'll never actually find out. If they do announce it, do you think they are going to say; "Well, we were going to call it (BLANK) but because of the Dreamworld incident decided to go with (BLANK)". So it doesn't really matter if GCTVs telling the truth or not. -

The footers appear to lead towards green lantern and then end. I almost get the feeling it could be a turn around. With the footer that sticks out into the car park, it could be a very cool banked turn over the cars. It could also be a non-inverting dive loop like at Energylandia. The only fear I have is that the ride could become a parking lot coaster... Some photos of non inverting dive loops: Thanks for the great photos as well. -
So, this has been on my mind a fair bit lately, do you prefer Water Slides or Roller Coasters? I personally prefer roller coasters, but surprisingly I find that I spend way more time at Wet n Wild. This may be because there are many more rides, but I find water slides to be more re-rideable. I'm kind of sitting in the middle. I'm not quite sure which I prefer. Have any opinions? VS

Sanad and White Water "sports water park"
Intimidator305. replied to Intimidator305.'s topic in Theme Park Discussion
Looking at the slides... this seems like it's legit. Apparently they just need approval to start construction. There is a new style mat racer up the back of the water park, that's a mix between a water coaster and a mat racer. Looks really really fun: I hate that color scheme though. The one in the video looks great though. Also, there were a few drop box slides up the back. It looked similar to the aqua loop complex but with more slide after the loop. One almost looks like it had two loops. Every slide shown in the video looks like its manufactured by White Water West. Maybe some cool deal that made it cheaper to construct. The slides look very unique and very different to the ones we are used to seeing in Australia. Am really hoping this gets off the ground.
