Tower of Terror 2 closing
Gold Coast Amusement Force replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
All the big 9 shirts are extra large so they are trying to sell the remaining stock. The normal tower of terror hats have sold out and haven't been restocked but the bucket hat varriant is still avaliable so that probably why not many people are purchasing. -
Just heard from a reliable source (maintenance worker that very recently left) that Tower of Terror is most likely going to close because it can't be repaired anymore. - We know it's down for maintenance over the duration of the summer holidays which is extremely alarming. - The ride has recently been going down more than usual meaning it is running very inconsistantly. - They denied a refurbishement which the SFMM version received. - The TOT 2 store has been holding a 40 percent off sale for at least 4 months now indicating they are looking to sell all remaining TOT merchandise. My guess is that they are holding off on it's inevitable closing so that they can make the announcement of a new ride to soften the blow. Hopefully this doesn't happen as it's just going to make it harder for Dreamworld to be seen as making steps to win back guests. They need to replace it with something equally as ground breaking as TOT was at it's launch if anyone from the GP is going to be satisfied by this. *This is still a rumour at this point and anything could happen, but it does seem more likely than ever.

The planning for Sky Voyager started before the incident and legislation was only updated this year hence why Dreamworld and Aussie World aren’t prepared. -

Yeah they do. I believe someone has posted an article on this in another thread. You are more enticed to buy after you've just come off a ride. -
Dreamworld on V8 weekend

This is a interesting statement. He may be travelling with family or not be a thrill seeker? Maybe he'd rather ride Buzzsaw, TOT2 (if it's open), HWSW rather than DC Rivals, Superman, GL and Arkham. -

Just realised the Tot2 store has been removed from the list of shopping outlets on the park map. It was still on the most previous version. -

I wasn’t referring to the inquest findings but the issues found when they did one of numerous audits when the park was closed. I’ve found the article however, thanks. Green Room Waterslide — the "Emergency Stop" button's colour is faded and the label contains the manufacturer's ride name not WhiteWater World's name. WhiteWater World is required to submit a Chemical Register to notify WHSQ of storage of hazardous chemicals. The Flowrider ride requires an updated chemical log book. Staff working on the Flowrider are required to use upgraded Personal Protective Equipment (respiratory masks) when adding pool chemicals and should be trained in how to use the new masks. A Flowrider plastic mat connection contained a sharp edge and was a potential scratch hazard. Dreamworld has repaired this. Dreamworld requires durable tags for all electrical equipment/tools ("tag and test" tags). A maintenance staff member working on the Escape from Madagascar ride did not comply with "work at heights" requirements. -
I Fencing has been installed where the train passes at the Sheep Show. Trolls Village is under deconstruction Possible repaint for Green Room? Photo opportunities from Winterfest are still around the park. Pandamonium has been repainted.

Does anyone have a link or remember the findings of the saftey audit conducted at Dreamworld after the incident. I recall numerous issues being brought up but I can not find any articles stating them. Thanks. -

Dreamworld wouldn’t be to concerned because it’s secluded at the back of the park. Although it is disgusting and makes the slides look dirty. -
