  1. Why would they bother opening with most of the rides shut? Gonna be depressing for the people paying entry fee walking around a mostly non operating park. Should've waited until they got the all clear for at least 75% of the park.
  2. Those protestors in Canberra would have a field day.
  3. Forgot about Exreme H20 Zone. I visited in April 2006 and got the sorest back from the mach body slide and i do believe that is the last time i went to Wet N Wild.
  4. I'm not saying they need to pull their finger out, i'm simply saying i hope they can keep it up. Geesh what a welcome.
  5. Welp. Judging by the scrutiny of safety they're currently under, that might be all they will get approved for in the near future.
  6. I always felt like the log ride was the main, central attraction. It's the ultimate family ride, something everyone can enjoy. It also brings heritage and nostalgia to the park. Yes i absolutely think it is worth the upkeep. Bring on the new boats and a complete refurbishment and new theme! That whole area is way too strangely shaped to utilise it fully with another attraction or attractions plural.
  7. I realise they are capable of more frequent capital investments but i want the frequency to speed up a bit more, like Dollywood. Only problem is they dont have the space do they? I need to see an updated aerial map to really get a better grasp of the potential for near-future investments.
  8. I guess it's a kind of "had to be there to see it" kinda thing lmao
  9. Starflyer. Dark ride. New coaster - anything at this point. But a full length one.
  10. Dreamworld needs a big coaster to bring them back in the next few years. A B&M would save them, preferably a Hyper. But it won't happen so i guess i'd settle for pretty much any coaster at this point. Any thrilling coaster that is.
  11. This ride is too valuable to the park to close. A complete refurbishment is needed but closing it would leave a serious blackhole in the park. Don't do it SeaWorld, don't do it!!!!
  12. This ride is going to propel Movie World to the top for sure. I hope the investment pays in dividends that they can keep this level of investment up in the future. We all know what happened after The Tower of Terror/GD got installed. A serious lul in major capital investment at DW.
  13. Six Flags New Orleans has always fascinated me. It's stunning on camera in a desolate/abandoned context. I'd love to shoot something there, a horror film or anything of that nature. It's the perfect setting.
  14. They're installing 5 new rides in 2017. Any guesses as to what they will be? Any wishes as to what they will be?
  15. Aussie World's future will look something like Paulton's Park (a smaller family park) in the UK i daresay but hopefully with better thrill rides. The future looks bright!
  16. ...pitch your idea in here. Where would you put it? Exact location. What would the name be? The park direction/theming? The rides? The attractions? I would probably get the rights for Jurassic Park/World and build a whole theme park based on that. Tours in mini orange 4WD's with the BEST animatronic dinosaurs in the business, a rapids ride through a lush tropical landscape with more animatronic dinosaurs, like at Universal Studios. I'd have several coasters mostly all B&Ms (Hyper, Floorless, Inverted, etc). The Hyper would be at the front and center of the park intersecting with a lot of the landscape and the tour based rides. I'd spend a shitload of money on the theming/landscape and i'd want lots of water features. I'd also have ziplines and adventure courses and of course lots of well themed flate rides. I'd put it in the Gold Coast hinterland somewhere where we'd be allowed. Or maybe i would buy Dreamworld at a bargain basement price, sell off all the rides and put the theme park there. We could make use of the canal and already cleared land.
  17. Well i don't know, maybe it's just that i am young but possibly older members can chime in and correct me if i'm wrong. I daresay 2005 would've been incredibly exciting considering SE at Movie World and the news of White Water World?
  18. There's an ABUNDANCE of projects currently in the pipeline or have in fact started! * Sanad Water Park - Sunshine Coast * Aussie World expanding with 7 new attractions. * Movie World's WORLD CLASS coaster which will be the highest (and did i hear longest?) coaster in Australia. * Top Golf * SongCheng at Nerang (although i am not that excited for this) I feel like we're entering an exciting new era. P.S. I'm new! I hope it was OK to post this.
  19. They have a lot to work with (Pokemon, Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda) so why not? I daresay it will be largely Pokemon based. I'd love to see a Mario Kart VR ride using Rainbow Road. Now THAT would be cool
  20. I can't see this working. Yes, they will attract the tourists but locals will likely go for one of two visits and then abandon the place as there doesn't look to be thrill rides which are what the general public wants these days. If you think otherwise then look no further than FOX Studios. Even that struggled to get one visit out of the Sydney locals. Locals ultimately sustain a theme park and if you can't get the locals and their REPEAT business then just don't bother.
  21. Looks unique and fun! This is what Jamberoo should've been installing instead of an almost clone of the Funnel Web. Lost opportunity!
  22. Absolutely excited to see what 2017 has in store at Aussie World. 5 new rides? Bring it on!!! I think about from the Typhoon 360 and Crazy Mouse coaster, the park could do with some water-based rides as it gets very hot there in the summer. I took my little siblings there and they wouldnt leave the splash area next to The Plunge as it cooled them down. I think a nice air conditioned dark ride wouldn't go astray either.
  23. This is incredibly exciting for the Sunshine Coast. As a visitor to the Coolum Aqua Fun Park last summer, this is much needed as that small park was overflowing with people and consistently booked out. I daresay the owner of Sanad took note of that parks popularity and is keen to capitalise on what is a surefire winner.
