  1. @themagician it's on the opening hours site. Below pic is mobile but same on desktop.
  2. I don't know when this icon was updated but they really need to change it. That isn't how gears work. Whats worse is they have an illustration of a correct layout next to the text No wonder they had issues with ToT and Wipeout...
  3. Jet Rescue was brought forward by a few weeks (23rd August to now the 9th August). Could this be the reason for that? If so, we could see similar shortening of downtime's for other rides
  4. Honestly at the moment there isn't much to light up.
  5. I think the thing I loved most about it was how it sounded similar to a fighter jet.
  6. Sea World is open and you're living up to your profile pic and drinking there again?
  7. Maybe unpopular opinion? not sure but I don't think the Castle does anything for SeaWorld and personally isn't nostalgic. Vikings was also pretty lame. Even as a kid I remembered I liked Dreamworlds better. I have no issue with them flattening the whole area and starting from scratch.
  8. https://www.news.com.au/travel/travel-updates/splash-mountain-disney-rides-linked-to-offensive-film-rethemed/news-story/3eb869a2125ddd1f5b92ef95473d7319
  9. Surely designing the re-theming a ride isnt a 3 week thing? If the BLM protests and the cancel culture that followed has pushed the timelines forward then so be it, but I would say this has been on the cards of Disney for a while.
  10. With the wires on that it looks like its designed to be taken over by a vine, which I hate the idea of. Thats more for a jungle / Poison Ivy area not an underwater / Atlantis area...
  11. At the same time I'm pretty sure you will find both sides of government call the other side muppets at times
  12. They won't be. It will be a web news story and possible small print article about peoples online complaints, taken as if it was an interview.
  13. VRTP are the biggest in Australia, of course they will have the largest voice. There are also many who have been affected in a positive way and come out the other side with more money ready for a holiday. How is this an argument against VRTP? They have an app for queuing already, they are able to open up and still keep some of their unrequired or reduced hours staff on Job Keeper. If staying shut means they are getting stuff sorted out or future proofing, by your own argument, VRTP have got their stuff sorted and have future proofed. VRTP pass holders are getting a 4 month extension, longer than the parks were closed. I would say the vast majority of holders are locals who will be able to use it again immediately, with the northern NSW tipped to be July 1st or July 10th. No real advantage to anyone there. You're also banging on about VRTP being irresponsible for wanting the government to lighten restrictions but they are no where near the only company or industry doing so, or anywhere near the most vocal.
  14. With the right marketing / media representation Dreamworld could put a positive spin on the story showing the "safety innovations" the new ride has ect ect. If you get (pay) the media to spin the story in a positive light it will be generally well accepted. After announcement, it will be forgotten about until its built. Once its built it will be out of the media cycle after 1-2 weeks, when a Kardashian kills someone else or a federal election is called and Mr Murdoch wants to control the outcome again.
  15. Who was the bloke that did the No Limits render for Rivals? Wonder if this is his work
  16. Using the 4 square metre rule we will know exactly how big each park defines themselves as (at least the public areas)
  17. I would try my hardest to. My partner often forgets and will stand too close to someone, and the boy is either strictly following or thinks hugging everyone is okay.
  18. https://www.digitalcinema.com.au/projectors-home-theatre/home-theatre-projectors?product_list_order=price Free shipping on orders over $300! bargain!
  19. I agree with everything you said, except the GL comment. GL is perfect utilisation of space. Fitting such a compact coaster in that spot is great and it doesn't need to interact with any ride or area as it wraps around itself enough and there are plenty of viewing angles of it. GL next to DC is an awesome view from the carpark and highway also. But yes, Superman and Arkham leave a lot to be desired.
  20. There is a throwaway line at the end of that story that sounds like all queues will use the VRTP App for the virtual queues. Like everything else in the world, I wonder how this will change Amusement/Theme Parks in the future, post COVID. If that requirement stays, parks won't require a queue allowing people to see more shows, buy more merch and food and rides won't require as much space. (Obviously need a queue for the next 20-30min of guests)
  21. Also, sitting in stationary seats, easily separated from others is no where the same as lining up, then being packed onto a rollercoaster train or a flat ride. Compare like for likes but theme parks are not a like for like here. Cinemas and Stadiums, sure go for it.
  22. Australia Zoo is more or less passive also. They have had to stay open for staff to feed, care for and clean the animals during the shut down. That includes continuing to do their presentations and enrichment activities as the animals are used to it. Additionally a lot of the staff at Australia Zoo are actually volunteers. Allowing public just lets them offset some of the costs and being to the zoo many times (6 year old loves it), the whole zoo has large open areas, and the stadium always has many spare seats. The only areas that would need more work are the transport buses around the park, the otter and tiger shows and possibly the snake enclosure but only QLD locals attending would mean they should be fine for now.
