Wizard of Oz - Movie World Arkham Asylum Replacement
Rivals replied to Park Addict 93's topic in Theme Park Discussion
i’m pretty sure it will be connecting from the the old Lethal Weapon entrance, with the gate that is sometimes open next to Scooby being a permanent entrance. if that is the case, it would create great flow throughout the park. -

i love the look of it, however i hope the execution of it will look this good. It does look like (at least from this angle, may not be the case) that the pathway connect Superman will no longer be available, as well as the pathway up to the fright night sheds up the back (im sure they will find a way to re-route it) Besides that i’m looking forward to this and hopefully 2024 comes faster then we think. anyone know what type of ride the new Kids WB ride will be? -

every coaster that has head choppers / low clearances is checked to make sure passengers you know, wont have their heads decapitated or hands broken. it happens to every ride including Steel Taipan when they checked the tunnel and rock structure after the mid course. also i think it’s pretty self explanatory as to why they’d be checking the structure especially as wood can expand. i’m trying to keep up with this but y’all confusing the hell out of me, can someone just tell me if the ride sinking or not🧍🏽♀️ -

i think the problem with this is that it would create a giant dead end, but if they opened up the original lethal weapon entrance and kept the superman pathway open; it would get rid of all the dead ends (excluding WWF which is inevitable) If it is a full out kids / family area (the 2/3 coasters, smaller rides ect) the location of it is kinda perfect. Having it near the bigger rides such as superman means the parents can enjoy the big rides, with the kids being close by going off into the new area. They would just have to create some sort of entrance into the area which would make the transition between the different themes not jarring -

I'm talking about the public, the public hears ‘big’ and thinks of a giant new ride, not a new family rides (even if it is what the park needs), and will probably lead to disappointment. I do love the theme will most likely be wizard of oz though, it will be an amazing new area (if it’s done right) -

practically confirms the 20th of July announcement is Arkham’s replacement, i mean look where the tornado is. It would be such a cool theme away from all the DC Themes i hope it is Wizard of Oz. The Public will see “something big is coming” and thing a big new ride but if it is the family coasters it might be a bit disappointing -

it looks like it’s more of a pretty evenly split twister / airtime layout. besides Leviathan and DCR (maybe superman too?), there really isn’t an airtime focus coaster on the coast. ST has its moments, buts it’s definitely inversion focused which is also now one of its kind on the coast as Arkham is gone -
(not really on topic but this is practically the only open ST thread right now) i came across this video on youtube from when the ride was testing and i thought to share it just because it’s an angle none of us probably would’ve seen if it wasn’t for the video https://youtube.com/shorts/-YiZbLF5Ntk?feature=share (if link doesn't work, video was posted by myxy1970)

all manufactures now are starting to use RMC type elements, like wave turns, stalls, outer banked hills. it’s normal for manafactures to pick up on new trends and implement them into their design, just cause RMC started it, doesn't mean they’re the best. if i had to choose vekoma or RMC to be installed at our parks first, i’d choose a new gen Vekoma Thrill Coaster to be installed over an RMC (single rail may be an exception) -
Doomsday and Green Lantern are both closed for unexpected maintenance atm. Considering Green Lantern is about to close for 3 months tomorrow and it’s been down for i think nearly a week now, i wouldn’t be surprised if they’re just deciding to not operate it and start it’s maintenance early.

Arkham asylum replacement theming??
Rivals replied to Cooper Liston's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I feel like something like Fønix at Fårup Sommerland would work great in this plot of land. People who have ridden the ride have said it’s extremely smooth, not too intense and a great choice for a kids first big coaster, it would sit nicely in the line up and i feel like it would be such a great fit if the coasters aren’t what we think they are. an RMC would be nice, however i feel like that type of coaster is more centred around the enthusiasts compared to the general public. They seem very intense and are known for having uncomfortable restraints and sometimes painful airtime (opinions varies from person to person), i just don’t see it being the best fit for whatever they are about to add. -
from my experience it works very randomly, most of the time right after it’s maintenance period it’s working, then after say a month it’s on and off randomly

the sad thing is the ride (at least from my experiences) has been like this just before covid started, not as bad as it sounds now but practically nothing working and for a park with a small collection of rides, it shouldn’t be that hard to maintain it. the sadder thing is, i’ve never seen Scooby in this bad of a state (excluding when the ride was gutted, which imo i actually enjoyed riding in the dark) i mean how do you go from the turn table room being ear shattering loud to completely silent? it feels like when this park takes one step forward, they take several back. does anyone know if Green Lantern is at-least operational now? it’s been down for around a week, even though it’s closing until the start of October in 2 days.

Zadra is shorter then Rivals and was also placed on flat land, whereas Rivals was placed on top of a swamp which I'm pretty sure made the cost go higher then it would if it was completely flat, stable land. I also don't think aus laws would allow for shorter kids to go on a ride like Zadra, I mean kids have to be 110cm to go on RRRC, and 120cm to go on alone. -
The New Atlantis - Construction Updates
Rivals replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
thank you for all the photos and great update. unfortunately hearing that it may not opening this year isn’t completely shocking, if they just sped up work a bit more they could easily get it done by September which is the saddest part. -
Arkham asylum replacement theming??

i could definitely see this being the case, especially as they need an airtime focus coaster as well as a good non-launched coaster. i’d love something like Goliath at SFGAM or Twister Timbers at KD. does anyone know where the 3 family coasters information came from? was there ever any proof, or just “i heard they were showed this at this place”? -

in the last load of pictures, it looks like they're just checking to make sure all the near misses do have enough clearance. i wouldn't be surprised if we hopefully see testing later this month or early next month. -

say these 3 coasters are the coasters coming, where else could they fit a major coaster? they do need a major looping coaster as there answer for that type of ride has now been removed. this is the only way i could see them adding another major coaster in the future without removing anything: they would have to rework a small portion of the back of house area for a coaster in this spot, i could see passing and returning under the bridge due to if it went over the bridge it may make the archway feel less special when going into the park. (just an idea and speculation) as for what type of coaster, a raptor would definetly fit well in this area. -

the only RMC i could see fitting into that area (AA plot only) would be a raptor clone of WWGLC or Stunt Pilot. I don’t think that would be the post choice either as much as we’d love it -

removing AA also means they are losing their major looping coaster. replacing AA with a Vekoma STC & boomerang instead of a SFC & boomerang would’ve been a way better option imo. it would bring a new family attraction to the park that fits well with RRRC, WWF and SC, while also replacing their old major looping coaster with a much more modern, smooth and overall better experience. by the looks and reviews of the first instillation of the STC, it is not overly intense, meaning it would fill the gap nicely between Green Lantern and Superman / DCR. i think the “plans” we know of will work for what it is however, if they have changed i think whatever the new plans are could potentially work a lot better. -
Pandamonium has had seatbelts added onto the bottom of the restraints most likely during its recent maintenance period. (credit: @ozthrills instagram)

i posted it because normally if you don’t have proof on here you’re called a liar. I never normally share private messages in other situations however people on here are critical and i just wanted to share proof in which i didn’t think to ask, so how about we don’t question the morals and ethics of people we don’t even know

i asked if it was anything to do with fright nights which was replied with no something else, and with it looking like Arkham’s demolition will be underway any day now (can’t remember if they have already started or not), we might finally be getting the announcement we’ve been waiting for. let’s hope it’s not the rumoured family coasters🤞🏼
-
thank you for reminding me. I have removed the messages but kept the information up, i have now asked if it’s okay to share the screenshot just incase anyone wants proof. i kept the information up though as he wouldn’t have mentioned it to a random if he didn’t want anyone to know

recently when talking to Bikash about the rivals paint job, he confirmed that there is multiple improvements and announcements coming to the park soon, these include: - fright nights will be returning this October - a big announcement will be made on the 20th of July he also confirmed that the Rivals Paint job will take 3 years, instead of the rumoured 6 years
