I know, there is a tv show in America of business consultants that visit businesses that are just about to go broke, embarrass the owners and managers about their current situation and make changes to try to return them to profit . 🤡

It is disrespectful to visitors of DW when they write a review on Google Review or TripAdvisor that they always give a cut and paste response. It they genuinely cared about their customers feedback they would give genuine responses. The one below I have read over 25 times, only the name changes. Dreamworld_Australia, Guest Relations Manager at Dreamworld, responded to this reviewResponded 4 days ago Hi , Thanks for your feedback. We understand your frustration when your favourite rides are not available. Outside of peak periods, it is common to have some rides down as we perform mandatory annual maintenance. We try to rotate this ongoing maintenance program throughout the Park so only some attractions of our 40 rides and slides are down at any given time. We recommend you visit the ride maintenance schedule on our website prior to visiting to avoid disappointment: https://www.dreamworld.com.au/en/park-info/maintenance Hopefully we will see you at our park again soon for a more positive experience. NB History has shown DW maintenance page is never accurate. Show less

Dreamworld hires new engineering boss
Archer replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The new GM of engineering is quoted as saying ‘My focus will be on acquiring new assets and reviewing all existing rides,’ Did he not get the memo stating that Ardent are not buying any more attractions? -
Surveyor, in preparation for the future huge housing development from Beatie Road to Foxwell Road 🤡

I was referring to department managers and not CEO or COO (Paul) Only 2 department managers remain since the accident with department managers gone plus one operations manager. -

In regards to your ‘bullshit meter’. Not sure if you are referring to and questioning the facts of my post above that mentioned about the department managers at DW including DW engineering department or if you were referring to Dreamworld’s decision making when awarding management positions to what seems to some as unsuitable candidates. If it is referring to the facts of my post then I am more than happy to revert back to just reading the forums. Was hoping that my contributions would add to the conversation and be beneficial for all passionate theme park enthusiasts. -

Dreamworld hires new engineering boss

This is not new. For the past 2 years the 2IC of DW engineering has been a guy called Omar Elsayed that also came from the aviation industry. He will retain his position and the new manager mentioned in the above article will fill the current general managers role held for the past 6 years by Chris Deaves. Previous to starting at DW, Chris was manager of engineering at MovieWorld. Chris has been linked to a newly created role managing projects at DW. It was ‘possibly’ always planned to have no original DW department managers from October 2016 still in position when the inquest findings were released. Only the retail department manager remains since the incident with approximately 7 department managers no longer there. -

The Wipeout will be permanently removed before the end of this year and Dreamworld have already planned to fill in the area, that doesn’t include a ride. -
Dreamworld Neon Nights Returns
Archer replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Dreamworld is not ‘dead’ but has been in a ‘critical condition’ for the last 2 years and since December is on life support. When the inquest findings are handed down ( possibly as early as just before Easter ) then it will go into cardiac arrest. -
Dreamworld Neon Nights Returns

Dreamworld lost money on every Park After Dark last year. They decided to stop putting them on so they could come up with a new theme and ideas for future night functions. Like all other decisions that have been made in the last 2 years, the decision to try the same old idea will bring the same result, failure! -
Dreamworld Facebook page today promoting if you by a 12 month pass that you get an extra month free. Not sure if this is new or they have nothing better to put on their Facebook update. Dreamworlds 12 month passes are already the cheapest by far and are getting even cheaper based on cost per month. ‘ Desperation is a stinky cologne ‘

Let’s have a competition to see who can guess what date the Sky Voyager will be open to the public. Simply put your guess down below before March 4th and whoever is closest wins. My guess is. April 1st.

Summer finishes in a couple of days. They will have to change it to autumn. Better still ‘coming sometime this year’

There is many similarities between Dreamworld and Action Point. -
Dreamworld has had trouble dealing with the rides manufacturer to get a fix on a certain part. If a modification on the ride has to be made by someone else then it takes much much longer to design and make and Dreamworld need to get the modification approved by multiple external parties which is a long very costly process as well..

Ardent Leisure Group HY19 Financial Results
Archer replied to Jamberoo Fan's topic in Theme Park Discussion
With all major spending now cancelled including the lazy river extension to WWW and replacement for the Mineride, Ardent Leisure is reflecting exactly what most companies do before they put a unit of their business on the market for sale. They all try to make the financial books look as best as possible. Limit spending and have no long term plans. Unfortunately due to the large cost in the earthworks already done on the lazy river and low Christmas holiday guest numbers , the 3rd quarterly financials will look ugly as well. If it is, or could be rezoned, then land and housing developers would start circling when ( and not if ) Ardent Leisure sell. -
Thank you for the welcome. Just in case there was some kiwis on the forum I thought I would be multilingual. In other words, I can’t spell.😀

Flower display festivals normally occur during spring when there is typically cooler days so flowers look healthy and last much longer. The Toowoomba flower show is in September every year. A decision should have been made last October to conduct a specific questionaire ( separate from the current ineffictive questionnaire) to guests asking them what holiday events they would like to see and what would bring them back for the Christmas holidays. Would bringing in external entertainment like music bands or a parade with a large amount of characters etc of been a better idea to consider than a flower festival? The Dreamworld management team seriously considering a flower festival clearly shows that they continue to make poor decisions and should rather ask their guests what theme park experience they really want.
