djrappa what launch campaign may this be?
-
^It already has been, didnt you know? They are getting a B&M Intamin mixed Aqua Inverted Hyper Mega-Lite! Seriously, no idea...
-
Fair enough. Would you rather "sloppy" or "controlled"? I've only ever been on one B&M so I dont have much experience here
-
Why can Intamin do it without trims but not B&M? Bad design? I'd think that B&M would learn to maybe make their hills different after most of their coasters need trims...
-
Thanks joz and Spotty those two posts have just really cleared things up for me. It makes a lot of sense now! I find that really interesting that Dreamworld and MM would have such good relations, I find it really cool to be honest. And I'm glad we got the shiny wheels
-
I did some looking up on it and yeah apparently it is pretty "meh". I can see where you're coming from Gazza. I think when I meant something like Time Machine I meant something similar in size? Well I think what Intamin does best is hypers... Like just have a look at Bizarro!
-
I know it won't be this, but if DW were to get a B&M something like this would be nice: http://www.rcdb.com/3852.htm Tell me what you think!
-
Both sides would of had the same upgrade, it makes no sense to do one but not the other (I'm talking about the computer upgrade). My question is, if they could do the compute upgrade for Superman why didn't Dreamworld do the same for TOT 2?
-
If the Magic Mountain is running it at 168km/h then wouldn't that be unsafe?
-
Hey guys, so as most of you may know Superman the escape at Six Flags Magic Mountain has recently opened, with its backward cars too... Just like TOT 2. What is happening though is that the Superman cars are making it all the way to the top with people on it. This was taken today: (Courtesy of Robb Alvey at themeparkreview.com) Why is it that Supermans cars can make it all (well most) of the way to the top... but TOT 2 still hasnt changed in height? This is really frustrating!!

Like a few other people have said, I don't mind as long as it's good! But I did vote for wood, because this threat asked which rollercoaster I would like to see in the park... And I would like a wooden coaster, I know that Dreamworld probably wouldn't maintain it well (who are we to judge though, they have never had a wooden coaster) but it would still be nice to have one. Just wondering, how was Bush Beast maintained at Wonderland? And what was the woody like? Any good?
-
Why are we discussing Zendorpin on Parkz? Please lets get back on topic.
-
The footers could be something, but to be honest the pirate mask/flag thing... Like I really think an announcement of some sort would have been made before they start displaying theme items. Let's just chill out a little everyone!
-
The only major reason I see them not getting a woodie is because of the upkeep cost, Dreamworld is very much a money saving park... We've seen that with the amount of upcharges in recent years. A wooden rollercoaster may be cheaper when you buy it, but in the long term the maintenance costs are so much greater than a steel coaster. It requires much more maintenance and constant attention and due to that large annual maintenance costs. Not to be negative I'd love a woodie but if not, I can see why... It'd be a shame though. But there are many steel alternatives that Gazza pointed out, like a Eurofighter
-
themeparkgc thanks for that info, I never know woodies would be that cheap for some reason I thought they would be much more expensive! Well I think a wooden rollercoaster would be a major drawcard for Dreamworld but who knows at the moment. Following their current trend of Intamin rides, maybe we could see an Intamin prefab woodie?
-
That's what I was thinking, because usually it is every 3 years when they install a new ride and it's been 4 now and everything they have done in the park has been minor with the exception of TOT 2 and the Wedgie. Just curious, which woodies would this be?
-
I thought it would make sense seeming that someone posted earlier in the week that there would be two new areas where we could see something new... But that might just be me.
-
Thats great to hear! Althought it doesn't come as much suprise it's good to have something solid. Will this mean Dreamworld will be releasing any info anytime soon?
-
Hahahahahahahahaha! That actually just made my day^
-
I had a dream last night that Dreamworld were installing a B&M, it seemed so real and so good!! But I guess that won't happen for a while
-
Are these the official submitted plans? Or are they still just planning/land/height area plans? Edit: Just did a bit of research and they are the the final submitted plans. More info can be found here: http://thorpeparkmania.co.uk/news/11...Plans-Released

Unless a park knows that they want to invest into let's say a Vekoma SLC, because it fits with their budget/land area and then they decide what theme. But they still wouldn't buy the SLC have it shipped and painted and THEN decide the theme. But I can imagine it still does happen sometimes that they choose which coaster before the theme. But I agree, a jungle/adventure type ride would be great for Movieworld, with those ride systems
-
^I'm not sure if a wooden coaster would have any complaints! It definately wouldn't hurt Dreamworld if they got one
-
Rationally what kind of coaster would be suitable for that land rea?
-
Gazza I think this photo might show a little more
