The New Atlantis - Construction Updates
That's the phrase I was looking for.. Sums it up really. You have an abnormal view of what a conversation is if you think that was one. You could have worded your response in an entirely different manner than what you did. You could have easily said "Actually, wooden coasters are quite common etc" and been a good Samaritan. Instead you dished out a hostile response simply because I didn't not express the same level of theme park knowledge and connoisseur-ship. I am absolutely fine with being questioned but what you did was simply condescension. There was nothing to question, I stated I am not entirely knowledgeable about the parks developments in 2020.

The New Atlantis - Construction Updates
Does every comment have to turn into an attack on the individual on this site? Because I'm not an enthusiast I cannot express my surprise at its design? Prime example of gate-keeping by you. On ya Parkz.

The New Atlantis - Construction Updates
Well I had read none of that because I haven't paid attention to Sea World developments. Not everyone is omniscient. My comment was more in reference to the big parks in Australia as this is, you know, an Australian forum.
- Could Sea world be getting ready to demolish the castle?

The New Atlantis - Construction Updates
Just realised that the Leviathan will be a wooden coaster. I find that very surprising considering the modern transition to steel.

Nostalgia at the Parks
Yeah true that, would require a major renovation. Movie World doesn't have much land to the North, West or South do they? For any future rides that take up heaps of room they'd have to expand into the car park i'm assuming?

Nostalgia at the Parks
In the future plans for WB Kids they should add another kids ride of similar scale. The driving school isn't the same (nor is it meant to be).

I completely forgot about the lift. The splash down was the part where you go down the ramp in the log correct?

Nostalgia at the Parks
My earliest memory was the Looney Tunes River Ride. Always got scared when Coyote would attempt to tip the boulder onto the boat. Still waiting for a proper successor in my dreams.

Theme Parks Reopening Post COVID-19
Is there any body that we can give feedback to regarding the current state of SDSC. I see everyone on here, Facebook, etc complaining about the changes and technical errors but it looks as if nothing will ever be done, well at least within the next few years.

Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster lighting upgrade
Yep there were never really any complaints about it pre-renovations. The theming and lighting was perfect. The lighting now seems off. Monsters such as the ghoul, demon on the ceiling, rotating guy used to be very visible as a light shone on them as you passed them but now you can barely see them.

What’s next for movie world
I don't think projection mapping technology is the problem, the problem is that it does not suit the ride at all. The tech is there, its just not fitting for SDSC, where the best thing about the ride was the ghost train section with tangible monsters jumping out at you and of course actually seeing Scooby Doo rather than flat poorly animated images. Also I heard somewhere that the projectors were just the old ones from AOS next door. Not certain if the source is factually correct though.

What’s next for movie world
Typo by me. I wrote those for short term and long term but didn't put in the title for long term! How do I edit my above post? There is no option to do so. Surely it would not cost much to finish touch-ups on SDSC once more? The only changes they'd really need to do are fix up the animations or just turn the screens off if it is that bad and put the Scooby animatronics back throughout the ride.

What’s next for movie world
COVID has hurt their potential revenue for this year so its best to believe that they'll push their plans back. I'll have a guess at potential short term projects. Short term (1-10 years) - Renovation of the WB Kids area as well as new family ride(s). VRTP have access to rights for timeless WB and Hanna-Barbera (or could pay for the rights) IP that could easily be used as a theme for an expansion of the kids area or a new ride. - Further SDSC renovations. Although I have not been on the ride in its current state, the screens look tacky. What made the original so good was its use of animatronics and atmosphere. It didn't have a kiddy feel to it, but rather a spooky one that appealed to both kids and adults and felt more like a Scooby Doo ride in general with all the different monsters rather than just a ride based off the movie. The ride now looks like the screens, especially the ones in the elevator, were an attempt to make the ride more tame, even though the pre-renovated ride was perfect. This is a fan-favourite ride so I don't expect the relatively new changes to last. - A new ride. Most likely one that will replace Arkham Asylum. That ride is on it's last legs but I feel the Batman theme will remain with the new ride.
