  1. I'd rather it be an issue with the train over a lack of staff.
  2. Rivals doesn't really need the seatbelt - it certainly doesn't need to have the attendant put it on. Even RMC's where the seatbelt does a lot, it just has to be sighted by the attendant. VelociCoaster's operations are by far the best I've seen on the planet - The train (1 of 4) enters the station with speed, lap bars are speedy to come up (no seatbelts) and attendants just pull up on them to check them. If you have any "room" the first hill gets rid of it quick smart. One train (of 24 riders) dispatches every 40 seconds. The cinematics before the launch are also used as a way of waiting for the block ahead to clear. Two holding rolling blocks at the end of the ride - so the station is never waiting for a train. The grouper can struggle to fill the train at times - but they still send it. Also the second best locker system on the planet. Not that I'm ever expecting ops like that on the Gold Coast but is a marvel to observe. Not having single rider on busy days is bonkers - single rider should always be used because you're always going to have (some) groups of 3 or 5. It also doesn't slow down the load time. If Disney can run it for Incredicoaster with two separate stations, MW can with one.
  3. The fact that they only had one train running for their busiest period in 2 years.. is unbelievable.
  4. Ghostrider just has two massive chests - one for each train - the attendant open/closes them as the train dispatches. I reckon these would work on the platform.
  5. The throughput I've seen at Superman is really bad. They need to get rid of the wall between the load and unload because its hardly ever used as designed. The time spent for the train to go between the unload and load stations is completely wasted. The use of lockers for a ride with always a long queue (and terrible ops) at the front of the queue is really old school. Especially when all of the 'entertainment' in the queue is a short loop made 20 years ago. Bins on the station platform (or RMC style pockets on the trains) wouldn't slow down the current operations at all. The only ride I've been on that's close is Rip Ride Rocket - but they're sending a train of 12 people every 20-30 secs. I love the ride but the whole process with lockers - inability to use your phone and really slow dispatches is a huge turn off - and is what the parks should be focusing on if they want more repeat visits of the GP. And yes they 100% need to increase the hours. They'd sell way more food if they were open for dinner, and the crowds would thin their selves out across the day and night.
  6. They do heavy vehicle movements every day, even when the show is open - how do you reckon all the life stock gets in and out? They're removing it tonight.
  7. Sorry for offending people
  8. Scream is a decent ride tho.
  9. That point was in my follow up post 😕
  10. They chose to go with a coaster design from 13 years ago. 😕
  11. And.... a launch that isn't completely bloody flat
  12. Even something as simple as the copperhead strike (another snake coster) landscaping.. very cheap and fits the theme. Dreamworld managed to make a carpark coaster - outside of the carpark.
  13. Nope. It feels like you almost gotta be naked to ride Superman (it was closed on this visit). Having a queue where you can't have your phone is super lame. They need to get rid of the wall between the load and unload for Superman and add bins. Never seen then with 2 trains and the time the train takes to go from the unload to the load is 100% wasted time. They definitely did - like I saw them with my own (naked) eyes? Every single park I've been to has let me wear sunglasses with straps - including rides with much greater forces (X2, TTD, SteVie, Hulk) They also let you put a hat under your shirt for those brake run stacking waits. Presentation was great - except for the area under the ride.. some landscaping would be far better. Yeah just wanted to setting my expectations. Dreamworld are definitely way over strict now - I wasn't able to wear my sunglasses around my neck, tethered - on the soaring clone.. I've taken a full on backpack on multiple Disney rides with inversions. I'm not sure why I'd make up the amount of ops? They also didn't let me re-ride rivals when there wasn't anyone waiting for my row... I did the front row of apollo 4 times in a row once because of the empty queue.
  14. I got a chance to ride ST finally last week. For reference - I've got around 180 credits including coasters at Six Flags MM, GA, Atlanta, Cedar Point, Canadas Wonderland, All Florida parks etc. I found it really disappointing. The launches are weak - the only decent one is the start of the 2nd one. You spend around 10 secs travelling on a straight flat track and the pacing is all over the shop. Also it trims on the MCBR .. and there's no yeet off it like so many other rides take advantage of. It just seems like a weird pick for the park - you've got a top tier launch down the road, along with a coaster with a much better layout - the only real big difference is the inversions. Also ops were pretty bad. 2 people running ST, 4 people running rivals down the road.. on the same day. Also interesting that they don't allow sunglasses with straps - which was perfectly fine on TTD. The one good thing that dreamworld did was get that soaring clone. Perfect fit. Just my opinion.
  15. If it's a big deal schedule the rides for AM and PM (probaby scooby for AM and Green Lantern for the PM) etc.
  16. 3 major rides closed during their peak season....
  17. Florida or Cedar Point - all open really late during their seasons. It's not about daylight - night rides are sublime.
  18. 6pm is a joke. Every park in the states in summer is open to at least 9pm .. sometimes even midnight.
  19. There's way more vaccinated people than non..
  20. Fastpass is never coming back - been replaced with Genie for good.
