The price increase definitely hurts, but when compared to other venue’s annual prices it’s always been pretty cheap in a way. There’s a small waterslide tower in Ballina with 2 slides. And the annual pass costs $300 there! So it sucks but it would be justifiable I guess if they kept the fright nights pass included. That would be a nice extra. They could improve but I have felt lately it’s been good. I can send them an email and in less than 12 hours I get a response . That’s decent customer service if you ask me. In park service is always a bit vague but all the staff working in customer service have all been friendly in my recent visits. (Edit. Photo of said Ballina water slides. They are fun slide’s actually)

I imagine the mechanics were updated / restored in some way. There would be a lot more done than meets the eye I’d have to imagine.

I am really loving the aesthetic they are going for with the facade’s. -
Looks good hey. Looks like just a genuinely enjoyable ride you could marathon easily without getting bored. If that’s the thrill level we get then awesome! When BBM’s tree’s grow the area is going to look very lush.

Yeah sorry for the confusion . I didn’t realise that’s what you meant when you said it could slow down operations. I thought you were implying a highly themed station brings other complications I was not aware of. So I was just agreeing. Probably my bad. Referencing a highly screen/preshow based station as a comparison naturally seems like I meant a preshow based station . I should’ve referenced scooby doo that would’ve been more clear. I was thinking more the themed walk to the Leviathan station I say lots of positive things too. I didn’t mean for that comment to come across as negative. I just gotta work on communication and grammar haha. I say probably 8 positive comments every 1 negative.

It was installed 20 years ago wasn’t it? Mobile Cranes have probably greatly improved since then. -
Yeah that’s what I was thinking too. Just the theming without the preshow but you are probably right. It could possibly still slow down operations more. But at least it wouldn’t be slow in a tin shed. It could be slow in a themed tin shed.

If they move quickly which they seem to be doing and weather is all good I think they would be able too. Depends if it needs to be fully recommissioned. And how many tests it has to do.- 406 replies

What’s not tall enough? The crane? -
Agreed. Exceptions are higher now too. People aren’t content with rides that would’ve been perfectly fine 20 years ago. I agree that a dive coaster would be great. But I wouldn’t underestimate the pipeline just yet. I think it’s easy to market and very unique. I am not sure a dive coaster has the same marketability. When dive coasters are presented properly though that’s a different story. It’s it’s themed or has a plaza. Or a tunnel to dive through that adds more. “Hey. insert park name* just added a roller coaster ride you can stand up on!!” vs ”hey. insert park name* just added a roller coaster with a 90 degree drop!” honestly both sound pretty good.
-
Will be interesting if you can pull it off! Be fun to compare when the coaster opens and see how close you got! Good luck.

Yeah I agree. But I guess they wanted that “worlds first launched wooden coaster” title.
-
Short people probably get insane airtime. but yeah I would have to imagine it makes loading a lot better. I wonder how it will affect maintenance time and costs. B&M pride them selfs on their reliability. It will be interesting if this Mets their standard in time.
-
Uh ok that’s a shame. Lightning rod is a different story altogether. That thing is something else sheesh. Probably the most beloved failure of the last 10 years. A shame really, as it sounds like an amazing ride. I don’t understand why exactly it’s so unreliable. Manufactures have been dealing with track stress for years! And LSM’s are pretty good these days. I guess it comes down to having 3rd party’s build the launch and RMC being real new at the time . I could easily be completely off but that’s all I can think of.
-
I know the older RMC’s have had a few problems but was arieforce one’s opening few weeks pretty smooth? I didn’t follow it to much but it seemed to me like it went pretty smoothly. but again I am not entirely sure. I do feel like in general the newer ground ups have been pretty successful in that they have been decently reliable. I believe Zadra is pretty reliable. our parks do tend to play it safe when it comes to manufactures but I think as RMC keeps going and getting more reliable it wouldn’t completely surprise me if one of our parks opted for a RMC in the further future. Wouldn’t surprise me if say DreamWorld got an IBox coaster, that they would take the full steal coaster option like Arie force instead of taking the higher maintenance Hybrid option.

That is spot on. It’s confusing enough that seaworld has 2 blue coasters and they are different shades of blue and different companies. I over hear people at SeaWorld always saying they thought storm and jet rescue was one coaster or them not realising JR exists because it blends in with storm. 🤦♂️- 406 replies

The good thing about a stand up coaster is people know what it is . If you say stand up coaster people know it’s a coaster you stand on. I got a few mates that when I told them stand up’s exist they said it sounded amazing. That was pre pipe line. Where as I remember when steel taipan was announced their main thing was that it was the southern hemisphere’s first triple launch/swing launch coaster. A lot of non enthusiast people had no idea what that meant or what that is so from a marketing perspective a stand up wouldn’t be too bad I don’t think. But overall a flying coaster would be my personal preference.
-
That’s not possible in some cases but overall I feel like I would rather that staggered system for the big attractions. Like I wish that’s what DCR had right now. Waiting till June to ride again is pretty annoying.

The main structure has many supports and footers so the weight and forces would be distributed wider. So the individual footers wouldn’t need to be as big since there is quite a few of them. The spike is most likely going to have a lot less footers and supports but will need the Same If not more height, so the footers have to be larger to accommodate. So the huge footers don’t necessarily mean it’s gonna be 500-600 ft. -
I thought it was just a joke at first but no it literally is just 2 M’s. Haha. The way the rest of the font is the W should have the middle v part lower. Something roughly like this.

I kinda like the idea of it being a straight spike.
