Good on Aussie World for adding another ride to their park. I'm sure the guests will be thrilled to ride it.
-
@djrappa People might not know a Mack from a Meisho but they sure as shit notice as soon as they ride something. To say the public doesn't notice the difference between a good quality ride and a bad one just because a ride is a ride is just silly. Your putting words in my mouth, I never said they wouldn't notice the difference between a good quality ride or a bad one. I said that they wouldn't know a Mack or B&M coaster if they fell over them because....they are not into ride manufactures as enthusiasts are. I'm sure as shit ( your words ) that this ride will prove to be very popular at Aussie World regardless.

@XxMrYoshixX It may surprise you to know that many people that visit theme parks are not coaster fanatics but simply individuals or families out for a fun day. They wouldn’t know a Mack or B&M coaster if they fell over them, all they want to do is to have a great day of fun without nit picking various makes & models of the various attractions…. Personally, I found the old Wild Mouse uncomfortable & at times painful to ride. Regardless of what you think & frankly I couldn’t care less , this will be a very popular & welcomed attraction for this park & I applaud them for their ongoing expansion.. If you’re not happy with their selection, I suggest you write them an email & voice your opinion.

The demise of the Wild Mouse is unfortunate but the wait times were hideous on busy days due to the one person per car policy. If it's replacement is the spinning Crazy Mouse style coaster then I feel that will be a great addition to the park both in thrills & also loading capacity.
-
You could be right there Alex, but I thought it was being used as a trampoline attraction? Still I guess it wouldn't take much to dismantle that at all. Looking at the ride, it doesn't appear to have a large footprint so it will be interesting to see where it is :-)
-
Thanks strop....Where is it situated in the park? It's not on the park map as yet.
-
I know exactly how tall it is... Regardless of that, I think it will be a very fun ride. I'm not a fan of huge drop tower rides anyway.

I Just received this & I'm very excited as I will be there in January. It's called the Bombora Bounce & will open Dec 26th. 26!

$270m Ratatouille ride at Disneyland Paris
DisneyDoll replied to Adam C's topic in Theme Park Discussion
It IS a lot of money granted but considering that the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland cost $100 million dollars back in 1995, I guess its not a great deal more in today's terms. From what I've seen, the Ratatouille ride is a fun 3D attraction unique to DLP so I hope you enjoy it :-)- 17 replies

DC Rivals HyperCoaster construction discussion
DisneyDoll replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Thanks for the update @XxMrYoshixX. I don't tend to follow the manufacturers. To be honest, I've only been on one Togo, The Manhattan Express in Las Vegas, & it was one of the most painful rides I've ever been on. No wonder they went out of business. -

Togo....Heaven help us. They have a terrible reputation for rough coasters. -
As much as losing the Wild Mouse would be very regrettable, if they combined that area with the now closed Octopus, I think they would have a decent space for a new coaster.

Hi RobK Yes I did go thru it, several times & it was quite creepy. There were mirrors all with forest painted frames, Green foliage hung from the roof with spooky music playing. It was all dimly lit & several of the chambers had a revolving doorway that led to other sections. The Minotaur was in the center of it & then there was an exist. He was behind a glass case & was in a static position. That's all I really remember about it, those days, we didn't have mobile phones so I have no pictures.
-
^ There was a maze based on the Minotaur that I remember, it had revolving chambers & hidden doorways, the idea was to find him. Is this what you are referring too?

I don't know how often you visited Wonderland but as a local I was a frequent visitor from it's first year of operations purchasing an annual pass every year. I would never have called it an underwhelming park & believe me, I have seen many around the world to compare it too. It was without doubt the best theme park NSW has ever seen IMHO & hardly underwhelming in any way at all.

Parkz News Shanghai Disneyland revealed ahead of June opening
DisneyDoll replied to Parkz News's topic in Theme Park Discussion
No Main Street USA....True but there are plenty of shops in the park, it is being built predominantly for the Chinese & they may have a very valid reason for omitting this from the plan. No Space Mountain...That's right, they have the Tron attraction in it's place. DisneyLand didn't have Space Mountain until 1977 No Railroad...True but again, there may be a valid reason for this. No Haunted Mansion...True but neither did Hong Kong when it opened & now it has a totally unique version of this ride with Mystic Manor. No Western area....Perhaps they don't think it's relevant to the Chinese Guests? Generic Castle.....The castle they are building is mind blowing. I think it's great to see another adaptation of the castle. I am a HUGE Disney fan & a purest in many ways, I hate the idea of what they are currently doing to the park in CA for Star Wars as I believe it should have it's own park. However, I think Shanghai will be an amazing park regardless. -
Parkz News Shanghai Disneyland revealed ahead of June opening
DisneyDoll replied to Parkz News's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I personally believe the park will be amazing & completely unique in many ways which I feel is a good thing. The Chinese market is so different to where they have built before. Before anyone says " What about Hong Kong? " remember it was under English rule for 155 years so they are quite Westernized. Shanghai will still have a Main St ( as such ) Tomorrow Land with two unique rides Tron Cycles & Jet Packs. It also features an Adventure Land type area called Adventure Isle which looks massive & has an awesome rapids ride, then at Treasure Cove is their version of Pirates Of The Caribbean ( Battle For The Sunken Treasure ). From all I saw & heard at the D23 Convention it will be the most amazing version of this attraction yet with boats moving backwards, forwards & sideways while surrounded by the most detailed scenes ever. Add to all of that the most massive castle ever built in a Disney park with a lot of the Fantasy Land dark rides, a new boat ride & the Seven Dwarfs Diamond Mine ride from WDW....There are many other rides, attractions & dining choices throughout the park & some of the most beautiful theming as well… What's NOT to like? -
Meaning of the word Decommissioning is a general term for a formal process to remove something from an active status. So....you didn't mention anything about it being repaired ( rust or otherwise ) just decommissioned & that is why I said what I said. No argument from me about rust being like a cancer & the need to remove it.
-
The ride turned 17 years old last December so I would hardly think it's anywhere near decommissioning. IMHO it's still thrilling & fun to ride & one of my favorite rides in the park. Dream Worlds log ride has been open for 35 years & although it has seen better days, it's nothing some refreshing & repairs can't fix. The Timber Valley Log Ride at Knott's Berry Farm has been thru a total makeover in 2013 & this ride is currently 47 years old. These rides can last many decades if they are properly maintained.

Wanda Group to build theme park on Gold Coast?
DisneyDoll replied to DJKostya's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The point I was trying to make is that there is another article about this park, nothing more. I certainly didn't make any claim that it was all new information regarding it. -

Wanda Group to build theme park on Gold Coast?
DisneyDoll replied to DJKostya's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Yes, your quite correct. It is the same guy but I thought that it was worth posting separate to the Disneyland thread as it is being insinuated that it could be more Jurassic Park....Obviously I was wrong seeing this has now been bumped into that thread. -

Hi everyone, I saw this & thought it was worth mentioning considering all the speculation. http://www.afr.com/lifestyle/arts-and-entertainment/film-and-tv/could-chinas-dalian-wanda-bring-jurassic-park-to-australia-20160105-gm02x6
