I was at dreamworld today. The wall is fully painted with palm tress, bushes , water... its a tropical storm kind of painting. Also will confirm the wooded posts, they are located next two the ride(qty4) and they are also orange with claw maks slashed into them (the same as the poster slashes) more electical cables were getting joined at the top of the ride today. The ride operator booth is also there.

Well people, I was at dreamworld yesterday, the gondola itself is now on, and is only missing about 4 seats, the rest of the seats and harnesses are in place...(LETS GET THIS THING SWINGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) There were lots of workers on it today. and dreamworld management on the site...Even climbing up onto the platform

Also great pic richard, I cant believe that it went from the ground up since I left the park at midday. I was just saying to someone who works there this morning "I bet its up and standing by the weekend" lol, not in 5 hours time. there was only a little crane there in the morning, that had an arm about 8 meters long, they were using it to just move things around the area. thats why i didnt think it would go up yet, cause there was no big cranes to lift.

I was at dreamworld on sunday(no news to give u!) I was at dreamworld today(monday) the supports were all inside the constrution zone...I was there at 10-30 today and they have already placed together two of the 4 supports, and the other two were getting ready to be joined. They are joined together waith a triangle piece, and inside the triangle is a circle, this is were im guessing will be were the rides boom attatches to the swinging pole. the area were the ride is has been fenced off wider now. the pieces are joined together put r still laying on the ground,,(i left the park so anything could have happend since then) so when u look into the area the pieces look like two big V' s joined...i didnt have my cam(i got a new digital cam so ill be able to take photos now for u. they have also welded on a maintanance ladder the entire length of one of the supports. (lots of workers there and big men in suits) (the triangle pieces must of arrived today because i havent seen them in the car park.)

Just a quick note on fright night, i was talking to my friend at DW. The reason for so many ppl in the park was Dreamworld were not told by QLD rail how many tickets were sold at the train stations. It is also believed im not sure if this is true, but if u bought ur train fare and a Dreamworld ticket, they were giving free fright night tickets if u bought the train dw entry combo. ( in the week leading to fright night) like i said im not sure, on that last part, but my friend thought that was the case.

Well after looking on the intamin web site..the photo they have of the gyro swing. (the footers on that picture are like 10x further from the centre circle than whats in richards pics....so u can assume it will be nothing in size as shown on intamins website. Very disapointed, we could have had a ride that was a giant compared tto anyohter flats we have in oz. by richards pics, u could put this one on a trailer and take it to the EKKA!

hi people, i was at Dreamworld today, it was very empty. Update on the gyro name..........It is now believed that after a meeting at dreamworld the ride will be called ----*THE CLAW* like tailsnosthings said it was to be named cliffhanger but it has got the chop....so unless i hear anything else, the world around DW is THE CLAW. see u soon! p.s- they have started pouring concrete into a footer ( its a suare about 2mX2m) i seen it from cyclones lift. Its coming along nicely.

was anyone in the line for the giant drop, like i said in my previous post about the line being out onto the wooden bridge, up towards bb cafe. im just wondering what time did they get a ride on the drop. my guess was they would of been waiting till close to midnight, 4 the amount of ppl in that line at 8-30pm. I enjoyed the fact that i got to see dreamworld at night. however i came fom the event unsatisfied because of the lines. normally if there is a line we wont go on it, thats fine because its our choice and ive been on the rides there millions of times.lol. but i was sad that i couldnt get on the rides at night. (the worst part was, none of the ppl i know were working fright night, so i couldnt go through the exit of the drop and get on:()

I went, i satyed untill 9-00pm. thoughts: the park looked nice lit up at night, especially around the tomb raider down to the model t cars. Definatley too many ppl! I know at 8-00pm the line for the drop was out onto the wooden foot bridge, into the coverd area, and down the ramp into the ride(thats crazy, worse than boxing day when it opend). Dreamworld gets approx 2000-3000 ppl on a good weekend, now there was apparently 2500ppl there last night, and spread over the 4 big rides open I wont even place TOT as a big one cause of the rain, it is stupid to think that it would be ok for that amount of ppl 4 such a short time to ride the rides they had open. All in all it would of been good if not 4 as many ppl. having the rapids open would of swallowed some ppl from the park too!! however to run the rapid ride at night it requires 10 ppl, as they have them spotted arround the attraction for satey, so an expensive attraction for them to have open staff wise.

yeah they only go up to 5 richard. but last year when we went, they had a promo with air newzeland holidays, it was called an australian vac pass. you paid for a standard 3 or 4 day pass(i cant remeber what one it was,) then you got upgraded so that you could use the hopper pass for up to 14 days. ( we didnt go to disney and use it 14 days, we did other stuff within are 17 days, but when we got back from places we had been, we went to disneyland at night , as you know they trade late till midnight on weekends and 8-00 weeknights. we spent propably 6-7 full days at the two parks, then it was just night time or early morning visits b4 we went out. The 14 day pass was really good cause it gave u something to do for a few hours in the morning or night.
-
hi people?, just out of interest, how many of us "total thrills members" are going to frightnight on friday??
-
we ppl that got to dreamworld are lucky really! Dreamworld have put in a new attraction every 2 years since 96/97. We first had Tower of terror, then giant drop, then cyclone, then nick, now we have gyro! and if i recall it would of been approx 2 years b4 tot that we got wipeout. ( we also got kennyland 4 a year)
-
Im not sure which way its going to swing, I should of asked bob, lol. Im not sure wether or not it will swing (ocean parade-main street) or (nick-sandwich bar)
-
hey obstructure, it will be going were the roundabout is (thereabouts), in-between the main street shops and wipeout, from what i got from them on sunday the entrance to the ride will be were the grass is *sandwhich bar*. (not confirmed yet if the sandwhich bar is going anywhere.
-
no worries richard:)

Once again ppl, im just telling you what i have heard, like all my post i give u after my weekly visit on sunday. That is what the staff are all saying at present. And whats (dippin dots buddies????) if youre talking about my sources, need i remind u that everything i have told u has been true, and about the loops, i told u last week, even bob(engineering) said that they would keep the loops? so why they have gone is anybodys guess. once again im just telling u what i have heard. If u would rather me not tell u all about the info and going ons at the park, just tell me. but i seem to be the only one constantly giving dreamworld info. please ppl come to my defence:(
-
Well dreamworld cant do anything about the short duration, they are not allowed to operate the rides after 10.00pm, i asked my friend today at DW.(noise reasons), so when ppl have functions and stuff they can stay and party till 1-2ish but no rides after 10-00pm.
-
just a quick note, i was at dreams today, how true this is i dont know, but was told by two of my friends there that those loop were indeed to stay! Apparently there was a mix up and the folks pulling the thing down were not advised, or were not informed at the time they tore them down. Take that as true or not but thats the word going around DW. Supervisors turned up at the thunderbolt site to see the loops ripped down? So they r gone for good now LIKE IT OR NOT:)
-
I forgot to tell u about the loops, they were gone last sunday, the thing is the staff had no idea why they were gone, they were all told they were staying.
