Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
From the website: 'Wet'n'Wild Sydney is about to take its place as the biggest and best water theme park ever built'

Queensland Government Launches "Theme Park Capital" Campaign
I think we'll continue to see well-themed rides like Justice League & Scooby from Village but nothing from Dreamworld/Ardent. Not too hard to come to that conclusion

Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
I think this park might be making a few exaggerated claims. Biggest and best waterpark in the world? I'm not so sure about that. Sure, it looks like it is going to be a great park. There's no denying that. But I'm not quite sure it is the biggest and best. There are some pretty huge and amazing waterparks out there

Expansions start at Jamberoo Action Park
Jamberoo do some pretty decent stuff these days, and that concept plan looks great. Trouble is, until now, the new additions have been TOO FAR apart. Meanwhile WnW is on the verge of opening and trumping them. They better get building!

Adventure World New Coaster - Abyss
I reckon they could do with a couple less statues in exchange for a little more (or any) theming on the shed

Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
Totally agree Jobe. And I also don't think it suits the theme/feel of the rest of the names they have released so far for the other attractions. With the suggestions I entered, I tried to match the feel of the other names. So far we have 360Rush, Double Bowlseye, Halfpipe, and now... Boomerang Bay?

Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
I think they are all terrible choices and I can't believe they picked them. I may be biased 'cause I submitted a few and thought they were much better. They don't even reference the multi-experience feature of this river. And a lazy river certainly isn't a 'lagoon'

Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013
You make a really good point themeparkgc. Previously the show building has only ever contained the ride path and associated scenes. All of the loading and unloading occurred outside the building. But with the Storm Coaster, the show building will now be used for guest queuing and the ride station, as well as the show scenes.

Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013
Unfortunately I think it has been established that the water/boat section is exactly the same as the standard model. So it looks like any show scenes will be built around the fairly small flume section at the start (if at all), and the slightly longer one at the end

What will replace Looney Tunes River Ride?
It seems like there is a concerted effort at the moment not to use any brand relationship other than DC Comics. There has got to be a reason why they would be planning to replace the Looney Tunes River in the WB Kids' area with a ride that has a completely generic name/theme. It's pretty clear that they either can't, or don't want to, use Looney Tunes anymore.

Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013
Thanks very much for that. I wonder if there is going to be a dark ride section that sets up the approaching storm as well as whatever scene they have planned at the end. There might be just enough room after departing the station for a small scene

Adventure World New Coaster - Abyss
I love the statues. But does anyone know if they are planning to build a facade on the front of the show building? Would be a shame to leave it as an exposed grey shed considering how good the rest of the theming has been

Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
Well of course they are counting each individual flume itself because saying 42 SLIDES & ATTRACTIONS... sounds better than 15 ATTRACTIONS! In reality though, I don't count the racer as 8 waterslides. It's one ride type - no matter how many times it's duplicated. Anyway, capacity-wise, we'll soon find out

Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
The comp already has over 3000 entries. I'm gonna make a prediction. This park is going to need to expand sooner rather than later... I think it's going to be a massive hit. And despite the claim of 42 rides, there are really only around 15 or so major attractions. Expect lines.

Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
You know what happened last time Wet'n'Wild GC got the general public to choose a name for a ride... we ended up with AquaLoop. Worst name ever. Hopefully they'll have something better to choose from this time

Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
Is it just me or does that lazy river look a little narrow? And is it made out of steel (or something) rather than concrete? I'd also like to see more than 'plantings'... Some rockwork, tunnels or water features that you pass through/under might be nice. Although I've got a feeling WnW Sydney might be very theming-lite...

Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
Clearly still lots of info to be added. Plenty of slides not in their attractions 'list'

Adventure World New Coaster - Abyss
I'm so very impressed with this. The theming looks like it's going to be top notch. Does anyone else feel like emailing the CEO of Ardent Leisure with pics of this ride and just saying: THIS. THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE!

Doomsday - Potential New Tower Ride at Movie World
Seems like there's differing views on this one. Maybe we need a new thread with other realistic ride options Movie World could consider. It was one of the questions they asked in the most recent survey afterall...

Doomsday - Potential New Tower Ride at Movie World
I think it's great. I can think of much worse additions! I just hope they actually implement the decent signage and theming as shown in the concept illustrations. I have to say I'm surprised that they are revealing this information so far ahead of time. They used to keep this stuff top secret. Guess they aren't scared of their competitor anymore!

Adventure World New Coaster - Abyss
THIS is what Dreamworld should have built. An actual rollercoaster. Congrats Adventure World!

Return of Sydney Wonderland?
In order to gain more credibility, I would suggest commissioning a professional website for the project. As soon as I looked at the current one, I instantly assumed this project would never happen.

Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
Well done on clarifying/correcting all that Gazza (and there was a lot to be clarified!). ncrofty - have you considered applying to become a News Corp journalist? ... I'm just mucking around by the way Gazza - I'm thinking the dark blue slide on the Whitewater tower might actually be totally dark inside, providing a 'black hole' type ride. What do you think? Also, any chance you can find that TPR vid again?

Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
Thanks as always julys. Where would we be without your WnW Syd updates?! Glad to see they went with the Tornado version they used in the actual model rather than the video. It's got a neat extra couple of loops after the main funnel as opposed to emptying directly into the pool. And just out of interest I came across the 'official' name/type for those curious shortened Master Blasters on the WhiteWater tower: Master Blaster Express. As far as I can find they've only built one before and they mention they are for smaller footprints and obviously therefore less expense. Here's the link: http://www.whitewaterwest.com/zoombezibay.html

Return of Sydney Wonderland?
http://www.stmarysstar.com.au/story/1730915/new-theme-park-plan-to-bring-back-the-fun/?cs=1508 I don't understand why this 'proposal' is being given so much airtime and credibility. It's ridiculous. NOT going to happen. This guy is obviously good at getting the local papers excited but that's about it. Check out the artists impression in the article above. It's hideous! Probably better for all of us if it doesn't happen if that's what it's going to look like. I don't see how it can be taken seriously - it looks like a 10 year old fan boy made the image
