dag nam it........ oh well at least i live in another state......

No actually thank you willsy for pointing that out and by the way, i wouldn't sink that low! Everybody in Dreamworld who works there knows about the thing, so it's common talk among staff. Dreamworld also isn't trying hide it really. Staff haven't been told to really hide it, but to keep it low about future rides. It's not job-threatening the Gyro Swing is definitely coming.... I mean did we know about the Big Dipper when it was moving? Need I say anymore?

haha, I think? And the loops are currently causing much confusion with employees in the park. Not even the admin knew! But the latest release given to employees was that the train was being put onto the single remaining bit of track left and placed somewhere in the park as memorabilia. But that is all anyone knows.

Well dreamworld have now released some official photos etc. plus information about the launch of Farmyard Friends at this link, all you have to do is click on the Farmyard friends link! http://dreamworld.com.au/dw/dreamweb.nsf Enjoy!? PS: i tried to get the exact link but the type of scripting the Dreamworld website uses doesn't allow this!

Okay, I think it's time to settle this once and for all. 1)There is a Gyro Swing coming either before or on boxing day 2)It is going behind the roundabout, next to the sandwhich bar NOT NEXT TO THE WIPEOUT! There is a 20 metre gap or so between the Wipeout and the roundabout, with a sandwhich bar and grass area inbetween, so get it right folks okies? 3)It is made by Ride Trade, NOT INTAMIN, while they are the same company, the RIDE TRADE division produces the Gyro Swing model. 4)Tony Braxton-Smith has not yet resigned but is definitely going to over the next 2 months unless pursuaded other-wise to stay somehow. Now before you question me, i know a good half of ride-ops very well and know other administrators etc. in the park who will prefer to remain nameless, or at least i think they would want to anyway!? Oh by the way, the Tower Of Terror went into service today in preperation for Fright Night in April 16, RR is back in action and is doing very well in regards to probably the only smooth Vekoma in the world (okay, other than rock-n-rollercoaster), the Cyclone is doing well and the Thunderbolt is fully GUTTED! ABSOLUTELY GUTTED! Even the track in the station is gone, and it is quite surprising to find how deep the station is, dare i say 2 and a half metres deep before you come to where you stand! All there is left is an unusually long bit of track, a couple of carraiges next to Tiger Island viewable from the Vortex disabled ramp, and the loops have also been gutted, so there is only big concrete slabs in the ground and THAT'S IT MAN! Cya soon guys!

ummm.... yay perhaps?

Just wondering i guess Richo.

As far as i remember they have lap bar restraints, that is, very tight "cut off circulation to increase force of ride" lap bar restraints. If my memory serves well, they are very round indeed.

Total Thrills Wonderland Farewell Meet T-Shirts
Slick replied to Richard's topic in Site & Announcements
do you have a photo of them? -
Yes and no. For my Dreamworld database (over 300 photos and videos plus about another 300 more to come in the coming months) i have everything categorised, but for the rest of my international etc. stuff, they are all in folders according to theme park and country, and are not numbered or split into seperate folders for each roller coaster. But it is not just photos you get off rcdb.com, i get alot of rare photos when i research, such as some of my Orphan Rocker photos and Marineland photos. Update; I have just got my new cd with over 100 megabyte's worth of high quality photos and vids of DW.
-
If i'm not mistaken there is 246 photos there.... wow...... I particually like some of those top spin photos, they are great! Hey, while on the topic, how many people have photos of rides either on their computer or in a draw somewhere? Currently i have 667 files (which includes photos and videos) which takes up over 878 megabytes. Did i mention it was split up into 74 folders?

I was personally thinking of using it as a huge advertisement board. What I mean is that the front of the park has a huge board for people on the highway that says "DROP IN AGAIN!" and what better idea is to take that down and place a small, lengthy sign from one side of the left loop, to the opposite side of the loop. And what would look even cooler if they welded one of the trains permanantly on the track so it would look like it is.... kind of going... Anyone get what i'm saying?
-
Basically the reason behind the non-construction around AWE (around the back of the park in other words) is because Dreamworld isn't just a thrill park, infact Dreamworld is currently home to more than 800 native animals, which includes their Koala Exhibit, which again is the world's second largest. If you've been behind the scenes (meaning the quarantine strip as i like to call it) you will find a neverending building which is used to medicate etc. the animals.... Actually it's really quite hard to describe, but it was just huge.... I'll see if I can dig up a photo in my database tonight....

COOL..... that look's to be great Richo!
-
Woops, sorry richo, posted a couple of minutes before i could! So did they really do something about those brakes?
-
Actually, unfortunately people do not get to choose what side they go on..... Because of the sheer size of the GD, to keep things effieciently working, both the east and west side of the GD operate differently when it comes to when people are loaded and unloaded. So in reality you do not get a choice of whether or not you get the east or west side. What i wouldn't mind in future though is to have both of them launching at the same time. But for them to hit the brakes at the same time, that would require the removal of the braking system on the east end.
-
No i didn't mean it like that.... I do realise that it is one ride and it was designed as the one project, but, it CAN still can be counted as two rides, one slightly adjusted than the other.
-
I think the fact that they've made a profit of just over fifty million dollars, and now are getting numbers that are outselling the rest of Australia's parks is not good in my opinion.... But I guess that's what happens. What i thought would be personally funny is that they advertised that their closing!!! "....We don't have any money to spend on maintenance but hey, let's just spend lot's of money on annoying ads!....."
-
What I meant was that technically the GD is counted as two freefall rides due to the brakes at the top of the tower on the east side. Oh, that's right, and update, i'll post some photos in let's say, 5 minutes? I have to duck up the road to get my order of chips from the fish and chips shop, hey, did i mention i'm at work?

I found it to be true, but very stale humour. Speaking of which i have now got my photos and vids and will be uploading a couple soon.... Personally though, i thought Intamin and Dreamworld had a close bond, because if you look at it from my angle (huh?) they have built a river rapids ride, an lsm coaster, and two freefall rides all for Dreamworld and now they are getting an Intamin Gyro Swing! Well i won't be able to go tomorrow but next weekend i'll be able to ask a couple of park administrators that I know.......
