  2. Cool..... i'm sooooooooo getting one
  3. That is great, another job well done.
  4. It's unfortunate though that it's replacing Stealth, but you get that But that will be moved to IOA, i think........
  5. Either that or the roar of the pod of the TOT!
  6. Unlike Cyclone (which was bought because it was a too good an opportunity to miss), Macquarie leisure has a BIG BUDGET to spend on this next ride, and theming, well, just look at alot of the other rides being upgraded i.e. the TOT getting new queue theming, River Rapids getting those lizards, crocodiles etc. plus all of that annual maintnence. I think that you can rest assured your Intamin or B&M will be here soon.
  7. I actually don't think dw is in the market for snother wet ride. Think about it, they have Blue Lagoon which i might say, had been recently undergone further treatment and looks fantastic, the River Rapids which has also undergone major theming Rocky Hollow and the Captain Sturt. I think dreamworld has the ability (after talking to several ride-ops and managers around the park) to pull of something really, really big, like a rollercoaster. Again think about it, macquarie leisure has the loot rolling in, the land and the builders adequate to build something huge, possibly a B&M, or something, very, very intaminy. That's my exclusive two cents.........
  8. Actually, i was talking to one of the staff members (nice guy, kiwi, he was really cool) and there is still a show going, just without the animatronics.
  9. No, remarkably these are very new dinosaurs, like giant serpents with their heads out of the water, with sound effects that make out they are growling and hissing at you. These are probably 1 metre thick and 2 metres tall, very scary indeed. Also, the old photography (which i was trying to find anxiously) was 100% gone, not a trace left next to the elephants. And as for the elephants, they're the same, worn down elephants. But the were a couple of new crocodile figures with sound effects which is again a very nice touch that will go far for Dreamworld. And just remember everybody, dreamworld is not just for rollercoasters, it's to escape from your usual life into a world of fantasy and, thrill! Make no mistake, DreamWorld, since 1981 and to this day still do this, and with some remarkable results/
  10. I went the exact day as you buddie!!!!! Yeah, as you said there was a lot of Kodak photography etc. around the river rapids including one of the tubes having cameramen etc. with cell phones getting wet! I can't believe i didn't see you though, maybe cause i don't know what you look like, but maybe next time! PS: climax of the day, Tower of terror starting up, yeah! PPS: did you also see the failure they had with the pod running into the station's emergency braking system?
  11. Did you go on the 20th, the Monday?? Because i also saw the same camera crews etc.
  12. From a weekly basis from now on (thanks to my season pass) I will be visiting dreamworld and will be updating you with news about the lara croft ride (i'll get to that soon). What i'll be doing in these posts is getting a Dreamworld map and marking a number on sections to show you what i'm talking about so get ready as I inspire you into the future (metaphore). (1) ThunderBolt Site Currently, a big painting of the beach (stretching from the entrance to the aftermath shop) has been placed to cover the ThunderBolt's station, which is fully no longer visible. Still no deconstruction on the ThunderBolt other than the track had been oiled to a point where the rails are now black (no joke.) (2)River Rapids The River Rapids have had major, MAJOR retheming to make the ride 100% more wet! Since June, they now have large dinosaurs/lizards 2 metres tall coming out of the water in the tunnels and there are sounds, lighting and other new effects in place to make this ride seriously scary. There was also men later on in the day video taping the River Rapids with Kodak broadcast quality video cameras and TV's etc. for supposedly an air-conditiong ad! This is probably 100% a lie due to the fact that a) River Rapids has no air-conditioning they were just taping the rapids, not tunnels or anything c)one of the only rides to use air-conditioning is the Tower Of Terror. This has Daikin air conditioners in the entrance and in each station up the track. (3)Cyclone maintnence I think the term "Annual maintnence" is just a tad bit over-exagerated, i think it's more lift hill cleaning and repairing rather than maintnence at all. Infact, all that happened was a partial chunk of track (the slope of the first drop) and the pulley brought on to the staircase below. Hope that makes sense (4)Future enjoyment Currently, the entire strip of building (shown below) has a long, tall silver fence around it and has sings saying, Shops being improved for your enjoyment! This looks like to include the whole thing being replaced by something because the whole strip of buildings where stripped. (5)Blue Lagoon is cool, so leave it alone. On my trip through the River Rapids I got immensely wet so to cool off at the end of the day we went to Blue Lagoon to check it out. Now, before any posts another Blue Lagoon enhancement Thread, let me tell you that Dreamworld does not need it. Blue Lagoon currently has maybe 20 10 year-olds riding the waterslides. The only thing dreamworld needs to improve is the bumps along the normal waterslide (not the drop one nor the aqualoop flume ride) as these hurt especially when you go slightly fater than recommended from Kenny in the large sign in the mountain  (6)The island of the future While this map show that the island is quite incredibly small, let me tell you, it is huge!!!!! If you head on down to scott-ware's dreamworld website (that's the only info i have on that site) and have a look at previous maps, there are even wharfs connecting to the island. Could this be a sign of things to come you ask, i say, if they aren't entitled to keep the island the way it currently is due to the wildlife there, I would 100% think by 2008 there will be something REALLY SPECTACULAR ON THAT ISLAND. Something extra for the kiddies As i was riding the RR, just before we started dropping i noticed (where the sheds are next to Tiger Island) there was a lot of parts to something that looks EXACTLY like a big fibre-optic castle. Anyone for some seriously big Lara Croft action these summer holidays? Cya soon
  13. Oh boy i hope they don't sue as they could put Wonderland Sydney into a lot of jeopardy.
  14. I must admit though, even though you have to pay for the tubes for the wave pool, it was one of the most exciting things there, just before Mammoth falls, twister, Super 8, speed coaster and so on.
  15. so judging from the map there was actually 2 waterfalls?
  16. would you have a map of Movie World?
  17. errrr.... there was a waterfall, any pics?
  18. well i'm not surprised, even when they do get new coasters it's still not interesting.
  19. One little thing that certainly but a dimmer on my day (metaphorically) was that for the wave pool, you had to pay for how much you use your tube! A little lame...... PS: this marks my 161st post! why celebrate an odd number? check what speed TOT is and you'll understand  :wnw:
  20. 4500 tonnes of concrete says GD has a good chance of winning! (That's implying how much concrete they used for the tower )
