Im off to Florida in September for 10 nights, staying 8 nights in Orlando at Disney World and 2 nights in Miami. I have three days in Disney World and 2 days at Universal Studios (So far, thats the lump that i've paid for). Does anyone have any advice on what is a MUST to do in these parks, or in which part of the two parks I should spend most of my time. Especially in Disney, it doesnt seem like 3 days is going to be enough to do everything (Or is it?) so does any one have any ideas of what I should do, what I should think about doing, and what really isnt worth it? (Applies for Universal aswell) THANKS!! And I just saw that i cant spell FLORIDA!!!! LOL!!

As far as i know you can't get it to not launch out of the station. Try putting a row of block breaks right after the station at a slow speed, I foud that worked for me.

That sounds like an AWESOME idea Gazza! All of your ideas for the tower and the surrounding area sound great!! Pitch it to Movie World!! LOL!
-
Lol, well... They arent solid walls, so its a curtain, or divider LOL! Its just black plastic hanging and they are retracted into the walls.

Yeah I know the doors have always been there. There are two doors. They both are closed when the train is in the load station, and there is a square cut out on the load station door which shapes around superman, and the unload station door is closed also so you cant see his legs. So Superman is completely inclosed between the two doors while there is a train in the load station. Did that make sense...? LOL! Well, they are really curtains, its just black plastic i think.

Total off thread topic, but anyway.... I was at Movie World yesterday (10th March) and rode Superman heaps. They had the doors between the stations working, and they hide Superman which adds alittle extra to the ride. I thought that the smoke accross the tunnels wasnt working aswell, and that it was out of time with the ride, the smoke, or steam should I say, was stopping before the train reached it and you didnt pass through anything on the way out. Maybe this was just me but the ride was getting abit rough, like not Lethal Weapon rough, but the harrnesses arent as tight fitting and are able to be moved alittle bit, I dont know, check it out when you guys go up on the 18th. They were still only running one train, which sucked because I was waiting like 20min (approx) between rides. The last locker in the 'earthquake' section didnt seem to be moving... Thats another one for you guys to check out. If anyone has been recently add more to this because I want to know if im just imaging things, or that my rides were... I dont know... CURSED or something.. LOL!

If you look at the photos on this website of it, look closely next to the guy standing in the que you can see a sign, isnt that the height limit sign? Its got a thick white line at the bottom of the sign. Correct me if im wrong... because im bound to be wrong! LOL!

Isnt there one at the start of the line aswell?

Thongs are allowed on the ride. Your feet are mostly planted on the ground during the ride. And on the coin issues, it also depends on how fast that the coin traveling at 'terminal velocity' is traveling and from at what height. Terminal velocity is a loose term and its speed varies from object to object... A person would reach terminal velocity if they fell from high enough, and if it was REALLY high that person would go "past" terminal velocity. So yes, in theory a 5 cent coin probably wouldnt do much damage... But it depends on the force in which it was released from whatever was holding it. Although, I could be wrong... But hey this IS a discussion board right?

Oh I didnt relise there was a third train! Oh ok, maybe they just decided to stop running it then... Lol strange!
-
Im guessing one of the trains is malfunctioning. It was busy the day I was there and then they suddenly stopped using one of the trains... I mean the lines werent huge, but it was anoying because they didnt move as quickly as it did with two trains. Weird... Anyway, i'll be there on the 10th again! Lets see whats happening then, and then again when RC.com goes up on the 18th. Oh by the way, I shot some footage of Superman last time I was up there, and I've sent it to Richard. So that footage should be on the website once he gets the CD I sent. (If anyone is interested in seeing it. Its BASIC! LOL!!!)

I was at Movie World on the 11th of Feb and they were running two trains, but about half wau through the day they took one train off and only ran one. Has anyone seen two trains running since then??

As far as I know, the 'light' on the last drop is a laser, its just set to fast movement, or is refracted within the laser to produce a cone like shape. Similar to the one that you face on the second turn table, except projected at a faster rate. (As far as i know anyway) Also, within the 'roller-coaster' section, some of the lasers are bounced off mirriors aswell, which 'fills the space' more with light. Some of you might already know all this, so disregard or correct me if im wrong! But then again, why are we talking about Scooby in a Batman and Superman topic? Lol! How side tracked we can get!!

Tower of Terror is Getting Too Loud

Its broken down while I was waiting for it. The people in the pod before us ended up in the 'bog' section behind the station. -
Tower of Terror is Getting Too Loud

I don think the TOT is getting louder. Every experience ive had ive standing near or underneath the TOT has been fairly quiet, not dead silent. It has to make SOME noise obviously.... The noise that I mostly hear when its on the horizontal track is what I can best descirbe is the noise of the wheels spinning... or like its hovering down the track... Strange... Very hard to describe. Also, because the tower is hollow (which im guessing it is) it amplifies the noise more as the pod enter the upward slope and the vertical bit. It could be getting louder from old age, but to my experience, its not. Lol, but then again... I could just be going deaf!! Just my thoughts! -
Im up there in about 2 weeks and I'm going to be taking video footage. So when I get back, if there isnt already footage on the website, ill pass the video onto R-C.com to post up!! If thats ok that is... Or do I have to get Movie Worlds permission to be able to take the footage to possibly put it on the website?

They do that at Alton Towers in England. It worked well as far as I remeber. You got a time slot on a ticket, say 1:30pm, and if you had a ticket (which you got by walking through a turnstyle near the ride entrance) you were fast tracked to the front of the line. If you didnt, you were either put into a sepearte que area, or you waited in a line just out side the que enterance, and when that particular time slot closed, the rest of the line was let in. It made queing so much easier. But the downside that I found, was that you had to enter the turnstyles multiple times if you wanted to be fast tracked acouple of times. Which ment you often had to go to the turnstyles, get your ticket, go find something else then come back. But yeah, you get the idea! It would work well in our parks, like gazza said, if everyone cooperated.

Thanks Richard! But yes, it seems all so complicated. I get the main idea of it.. but you know. Im not an expert!!

How is the carriage launched? I know its hydraulic, but is it like an air craft carrier launch and is a catch clipped onto the front/rear of the carriage...?? Or is it some other way? Anyone got any ideas? Or know for sure?

In my opinion, best time during summer to go would be late summer, when both Queensland and New South Wales school terms begin. New South Wales holidays go for one week longer then Queensland I think, but dont quote me on it So yeah, late summer would be ideal. Feb best time!

Ah ok! Sweet! Thanks for that!

Just a question, where is the maintenance bay? LOL! I wouldnt have a clue... Im obviously not looking hard enough!

When I was up there last, in middle November, I asked at guest services what is going in where the Thunderbolt used to be and I was told it was going to be the new water park. Hope that helps
