  1. Mark, one question I have wondered about Abyss, but when ordering the ride what drove the decision about overhead harnesses on the ride, versus getting cars with lap bars only? (Eg Iron Shark, Daredevil Dive, Karacho etc)
  2. The full name of the flume is "The Vikings Revenge Flume Ride".
  3. Aquatica had issues on theirs... They solved it by installing speed humps on the entry to each funnel.
  4. Hey lolman why is it when "you and your brother" are thinking of a trip to a theme park you start a topic to assist you with the life changing decision? Like, when I feel like going to DW I just go.
  5. I think you should be right. Whitewater World never gets 7hour queues for their rides so you won't just ride one all day.
  6. It was only a couple of years ago, and they built all of Diagon alley in that time.
  7. But what record holder in recent years actually did something good with its height and speed...Last one I can think of is Millennium Force. At least this one actually goes on for a bit and does some crazy manouvers, rather than just dropping into a brake run and finished in 10 seconds.
  8. Do you mean the spiral waterslide (Aqualoop flume) I remember seeing sighs saying to sit upright, but I thought I'd be clever and lie down, and yep, on those last few turns you'd soon discover you'd be tossed upwards at high speed.
  9. Gateway has free tolls to assist.
  10. NSW is pretty big? Can you narrow it down? I know there are Latitubes in Coffs, and at WnW but know of no flowriders.
  11. So Melbourne members may lament the lack of Water parks, but it increasingly seems like you can ride mo types of slide....If you are willing to visit several aquatic centers to do so. In hoppers crossing a standard raft slide, and a Proslide bowl/funnel hybrid is going in (Imagine a bowl like Double Bowlseye at WNWSyd and a funnel like Tantrum) In Ringwood a couple of slides too, this time a Superloop slide with a drop capsule like the Wedgie at WWW. So Melbourne members may lament the lack of Water parks, but it increasingly seems like you can ride mo types of slide....If you are willing to visit several aquatic centers to do so.
  12. They are for people who visit the GC post boxing day, since that is the busiest period. 12 days of Christmas nan all too.
  13. They weren't arguing, they were just telling each other why they are right.
  14. "And the back of the park has had no improvement at all". What about Coroboree?
  15. All this talk about DW getting a B&M, yet nobody has posted about MW getting a wooden coaster and that SW should get a water coaster.... Wait, we have one out of 3 now don't we
  16. I had a stop in at DW this arvo and did 3 rides on tail spin. Getting an out of control spin started seems pretty easy now...first lap steadily rock back and forth. on your 2nd lap, whilst heading upwards you should almost be getting all the way around. Then, once you start heading downwards again you really catch the breeze, and the ride is at full speed and you should hold the two wings, one up, one down and that basically forces an out of control spin to start that you can keep going. To make it spin faster curl your legs up under the seat and that brings all your mass closer to the heart line of rotation. Surprisingly non sickening. its that fast thatthe horizon just looks like a spinning TV image...not that much force. It works best on the seats furthest from the central motor column, you can still do it on the "inside" seats but the out of control spin tends to run out of momentum so you have to try and restart it halfway through the ride.
  17. They bought Pilgrims Plunge from Holiday World 2nd hand lol?
  18. Personally I'd be going to Gardaland for Raptor, but that's cos Iove wingriders.
  19. Have a read back through the thread, where people have given detailed instructions on what works well.
  20. on TV you sit alone in a double if you want
  21. AFAIK they stopped making the chaos due to them having a nasty habit of falling over.
  22. With Wolf creek, the sequence is purely down to a chronological retelling of the film, so the escape through the tunnels with the backpackers is the final scene in the film (after the British guy escapes the torture room)
  23. What sort of questions got asked in the Q & A? What was the food like?
  24. I've ridden Green Lantern and had no issues with it....
