  1. I'm not sure why you'd even need to stop the boats (Tehehehe "stop the boats")...They kinda just amble past, so if you set it off right as the boat was approaching it would still get everyone fairly equally wet as you wash past.
  2. Why would some guests get a better experience depending on how busy the ride is?
  3. Park hours have been extended till 11pm through January now.
  4. ^Riptide I'm presuming? A simple solution wouldn't necessarily need handrails or anything...At whitewater world they just paint the treads the colour of the slide, and have signage on the way up telling people to keep left or right. Eg on the family raft slide tower have green treads for Riptide, blue for Curler and Red/Yellow alternating for Double Bowlseye. * * * * * http://www.villageroadshow.com.au/upload/Document/Sydney%20WnW%20Opening.pdf They've sold 155,000 season passes....They'll smash the 800,000 visitor target for sure.
  5. Hey lolman, can you stop making boring posts that add nothing to the discussion. If you agree with everything he said, use the like button. Stop spamming.
  6. any hard braces are typically not allowed on slides.
  7. Under explore, hit the all rides tab: http://wetnwildsydney.com.au/explore/all-rides.aspx In terms of the website not working, I'd entirely put that down to people still running IE8. Just opened it in IE8 compatibility view and it doesn't work properly, but IE9 and IE10 work fine.
  8. Obviously careful not to mention the Dinosaur ride at Disney Animal Kingdom in Florida
  9. The one at the far end has never worked...It has always been on that DVD media player home screen since the ride opened.
  10. Premier rides did a couple of water coasters too, the only one of which remains is the one at Linnanmaki. The difference with theirs is that it never leaves the track.
  11. Is that any different to any new coaster in recent times?
  12. The ones at Jet Rescue are $2 for one hour, so I imagine these would be the same.
  13. Nerd shot, but another "first" for the park..Hard to see in the pics at present, but it's proslides first KIDZ Bowl 14...cute. Seems as if the slide finishes in a circular tub:
  14. The theme park nerd in me would want to try out Curler, Bowlseye and Riptide with the smaller rafts just to see what it was like.
  15. Umm...A Grandstand? Tiered seating?
  16. ^Childrens areas are always difficult to photograph, unless you get there early when they are empty and no kids are in view of your photos. Last thing you want is to be kicked out lol.
  17. The equipment is already in place...You can see the gas pipe coming up on the left where the plaform with barrels is and the first water explosion. In addition to what will be fireball effects, suspended from the roof are a couple of sets of gas radiators which i guess will give you that feeling of heat beating down on your forehead (Sorta similar to the heat generators in the final explosion scene on Justice League). I'm guessing it might just require testing and fine tuning during park closed hours. They would have built any new pipelines as part of the overall construction works (You know, that period of a year or so when they were doing lots of digging and concreting) ...I mean, they would have installed several kilometers of water, air and electrical lines as part of the project, yet you seem to suggest the contractors wouldn't install gas lines at the same time...WTF?
  18. You could be on in as little as 15 mins, and listen out for when they call for single riders.
  19. It's one of the worst...Wouldn't be better than anything at MW, possibly on par with Sea Viper, and at Dreamworld I think Buzzsaw and TOT are better rides. I get that it used to be at LPS so you perhaps like it for that reason, but the drops are more gentle inclines, turns are too wide, and it just isn't that special really. That's without mentioning how roughly it runs.
  20. Yep, also on the Sunshine Coast council PD Online system is a full masterplan for the park, expanding up the hill where the luge track is. No actual specifics (just general "zones" of "ride areas" and "bushland fingers"), with the tallest rides at the front of the park and the shortest at the back. One thing that was interesting was the prospect of a tower ride, indicated in the height envelope at the front of the park.
  21. But you just said it would be less thrilling than Cyclone, one of the worst coasters on the Gold Coast?! It might be a bit hard to market though? I mean freefall slides have been on the Gold Coast in some form or another since the 80s. I think the slides on offer at WnW Syd are a pretty good indication of what we could expect up here...There's enough to choose (And a few we dont have yet like a mega tube) from as a first choice that we don't really need to build something we already have. Was there an announcement of it being cancelled I missed?
  22. Here's a pic SW posted on their FB of the water dump effect on Storm: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153563058720582&set=a.10150305642055582.563523.283591200581&type=1&theater
  23. Most wooden coasters I have been on are more thrilling than cyclone...More airtime, faster pacing, and in some cases, smoother. This looks pretty exciting, no? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEyaPCT6_GM
  24. Could get a train to Blacktown and Taxi it? Out of interest, are the burgers at the Surf Club the same "prime burgers" that WnW/SW/MW have: http://movieworld.com.au/~/media/Images/VRTP%20Images/MovieWorld-New/Dining/Prime%20Burgers/vrtpD1208987_Prime_Burgers_Online_520-x-249.ashx?mh=249&mw=520 They can be scarily fast. On my only ride of the Whitewater West version at Aquatica our raft managed to flip when we hit the landing pool. All I remember is barreling along, and then one second later finding myself in the water and bit shaken up lol. In other news, there will be a Nickelodeon Meet n Greet at WnWSyd: http://www.blooloop.com/news/nickelodeon-gets-water-park-deal-in-australia/25647
