  1. The enthusiast in me wants it to be a ZacSpin poking out slightly over the water edge like the one at Grona Lund. The realist in me says that it probably wont be anything other than a flat ride, given it is meant to be opening in a couple of months.
  2. http://tenplay.com.au/channel-ten/the-project/2013/11/8 It's up now:
  3. Was there an article available at the time of the OP?
  4. North Sydney Council is not much help at all, other than to say Ref Number: 010.2013.00000387.001 Development Application - Luna Park - Foundations, footings and installation of amusement ride Approved by the Department of Planning 201-06-2002 CC 13/122072-1 Lodged: 17/10/2013 Determined: 17/10/2013 Approved by Other Estimated Cost of Work: $ 0 Officer: Stephen Beattie
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=ZWcRdMbzx54#t=69 Would appear so...You mean at 1:09 ? And the shooter of the video was even nice enough to spin the camera sideways to show a boat in storage
  6. Well, what special skills do you have that you can bring to the table that would allow you to avoid working at a Maccas?
  7. Looks to me like it's just a place to winch flume boats in and out of the trough for maintenance.
  8. My guess is it's a reinterpretation of the Fujita scale (F0,F2,F3,F4,F5) which rates the intensity of a Tornado, F5 being the most catastrophic. In other news, there is a gallery up of the H2Go Racers, including an internal pic of the stripy rainbow section of slide https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.754408051251935.1073741829.512833322076077&type=1 The slide will have a timing system (Rather than a placement system like WnWGC) so I guess part of the fun will be trying to go irresponsibly fast. On the Whizzard at Aquatica you could get times below 10 seconds with the right sliding technique.
  9. This instagram post http://instagram.com/p/gRqnKUkb75/ Seems to suggest that one of the cloverleaf slide is called "Bombora"...Not sure which one they are referring to though? My bets were with GoGoBoy that the curler was the name for the Tornado wave, but maybe this will be it instead?
  10. So is it literally just a dark shed with smoke? (Cue the Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster jokes)
  11. But they are of a similar size? Abyss is 30m high, Storm Coaster is 28m high. (Though Storm covers a larger area of land) Both rides feature indoor sections and theming. Any chance of giving us a description of what sort of stuff you see in the indoor section? Lighting? Theming? Sound? Colour the text in white if you don't want to spoil it for anyone.
  12. Abyss is on Nearmap now too:
  13. Can't you get some basic polo from Kmart or something, and use it for any future job interviews....It'd cost barely anything. Bangs head against wall...Yes, its only for a 15 minute interview, but it's what those 15 minutes lead to (Or the value of those 15 mins) that matter. It's like saying why get a $2000 wedding dress if you are only going to wear it once.
  14. The front entrance certainly feels very "Flinstones".
  15. This one hadn't been posted right? http://www.birdseyeviewphotography.com.au/blog/wp-content/uploads/DD0J0018-copy.jpg
  16. There was a Parkz update featuring lots of photos of storm coaster 1 week ago, have you looked at that?
  17. ^So you want more mazes, but they aren't allowed to use any of the cost effective or centralised locations to host them?
  18. That's incorrect Tim, the rides at Adventure World do not have big queue areas, nor do any of them have theming to actually be damaged, just fencing and plain shade cloth:. http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Perth/Adventure_World/12,2,6188-Power_Surge.html AlexB, in answer to your question, I did notice a little bit more petty vandalism in Perth...In particular it seems a favourite pastime of local feral kids is to severely scratch the windows of the buses and trains there: http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/western-australia/attacks-of-buses-trains-up-65pc/story-e6frg143-1226193471711 We'll have to wait and see how the theming holds up... I reckon the interior lighting looks good, but that 2D painted wall looks cheap and nasty, just like the Ghost Train at LPM; http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Melbourne/Luna_Park/169-Ghost_Train/1,2,914-Ghost_Train.html
  19. Doesn't the show stage get used for a maze? The 3rd time they hosted FN they had one in Intencity, but it was a very short maze, and probably a big hit in terms of park revenue.
  20. Would it follow that if I hosted an even smaller and crappier Halloween event in my back shed, I could charge $100 for it?
  21. Isn't TOT just one of these coasters, but just without the loop?
  22. The one at Cranbourne with the toilet bowl bodyslide hurts, the one at Greensborough with the tantrum alley is really good.
  23. Yep I've been to WnW Sydney before. My favorite slide was the "mudpit river", and "dirt splashdown" I'd never been to Perth before, and got to Adventure World on the train & bus by just looking it up. Similarly, i got to the Orlando theme parks, SFMM, Disneyland, Knotts all by using the LA commuter trains and a bit of walking (Well, 4km in the case of SFMM) And when I've been down to Melboure I made my way out to a couple of the aquatic centers because I felt like trying out the new waterslides...Again using buses an trains. And I got to a number of parks in the UK using the trains there. All it takes is a few minutes of your time to check the official park websites and the transport authority websites....I mean, the Wet n Wild Sydney website has a page called "Getting Here"...Isn't that enough?
  24. AlexB, the irony of the situation is that even if there was a station within walking distance of the park zacsta_1997 would still need to consult google maps in order to find the walking route, so I'm unsure why he didn't just spend a few seconds looking it up rather than wasting someone elses time? On the WnW FB page they have said that at the very least there will be a bus from Parra, with negotations with other bus operators still ongoing.
  25. Wouldn't you need a train of 6 cars to match the current capacity?
