Sea World Storm Coaster construction 2013
Read my post. I said that Jet Rescue was the last time a boxing day opening happened. That was way back in 08. Did Aqualoop open boxing day. No. Green Lantern. No. Arkham. No. Justice League. No. Constrictor. No Castaway Away Bay. No. Penguin Encounter. No. We have a parkz update from the 12th of Dec with it open: http://www.parkz.com.au/update/2010/12/12/258-Sea_World_December_2010.html

Queensland Government Launches "Theme Park Capital" Campaign
The OP says that the campaign kicks off on the 27th, so this is probably some older ad. Note how it is not one specifically about theme parks (The focus of the new campaign), but rather all the stuff the GC has to offer, like rainforest skywalks, casinos, beaches (And of course theme parks) To be fair, they'd have to be somewhere in the upper range. I mean, once you get past all the famous parks that enthusiasts normally visit what are you left with?

Looks cool, but I reckon having Typhoon, and Tantrum well and truly does the park in terms of "slides where you come in sideways and rock back and forth".

Possibly as a future addition do you mean?

Agreed, blatant Wonderland reference anyway...Kinda like how WnW Vegas named their toilet bowl slide called "royal flush", just like the old WnW on the strip. I get that this is the ride model name (Well, not anymore actually, Proslide now calls it a "Tornado 24" ) But it's such a negative sounding name...Makes me think of Sydney bus drivers. Otherwhise, seems like you have the whole list spot on, the Whitewater West 2 man slides all seem to have 110cm limits, and the Proslide cloverleaf slides all seem to be at 120cm Maybe there is one other name yet to be released for the other raft slide on the Bowlseye tower?

Adventure World New Coaster - Abyss
Mi guess is that in terms of theming they might just put a few of those "solid concrete statues" along the dark section and have a small source of light on each one to give the impression they are swarming around you. However Would be a bit of a dissapointment if they spent all that money on a huge show building just to make it pitch black inside IMHO...That'd be a case where the money would be better spent on making the ride longer. Woah, just thinking, but Australia really does have a disproportionate number of semi enclosed coasters, don't we?

Doesn't seem to be on the website anymore regardless.

^Admittedly, I do like it for the fact that I can take the names announced and put them in the database progressively. Nice sentiment, but pretty sure the council would get onto that quickly if thousands of people started parking along the already narrow roads around the park.

In all honesty, there's no real cause for concern at all, or worth trying to "convert" the people posting on the comment feed. Have a look at the people commenting. It's mostly those mum types who put a picture of their bub as their profile pic. Go check out the Coles and Woolies FB pages. It's the exact same type of people who get "outraged" and do all the complaining. The second group is people saying "It's cheaper to go to the beach/local pool". But the FB comment feed has a picture of the bright. tangled looking H2Go Racer. If that one key image is not enough to convince people of the benefits of a water park over plain old swimming, then you are never going to convince them to spend a a cent visiting a water park, simple as that. Third group are those quoting unrealistic things like "If annual passes were $30 maybe I'd go". Again, those people are simply outside the target audience of a water park, so nothing lost by them not attending really. Much easier to cater to 1 guest paying $125, than trying to attract and satisfy 4 guests paying $30. Point is, it's not a representative sample. Now, if people with actual disposable income, teenagers who don't mind chucking down $125 for some entertainment etc etc were complaining about the price, then there would be cause for concern. Except they aren't. Jamberoo gets smashed in summer. WnWGC gets smashed in summer, and still got smashed back in the pre VIP pass days. I don't think the price is too high for the market to bear at all. If they decide that they aren't moving enough passes, its very easy to drop the price, and it's not like people will hold a grudge. As for complaints about car parking, perhaps Bussy, AlexB and other Sydneyiders/ex locals can advise, but paying for parking is more of a fact of life in Sydney right? Here in Brisbane they are only just starting to move to paid parking at places like Westfield. ....... Also, I forgot to make a comment about Boomerang Bay being chosen as the name. Part of me wonders if that was always the intent to call it that (I mean look at the shape), and the 4 other options they pitted it against were so horrible sounding ("eastern river", "darling bay" etc) that Boomerang Bay got up effectively by default.

Half a day at sea world
For what it's worth, you probably can get a fair bit done in 4 hours...I mean, I've done Animal Kingdom in 2 hours so anything is possible. SW doesn't tend to get long queues. The only catch is you will probably miss a show or two due to the times they are on, but you probably knew that anyway.

Swapped Themes
Short answer is that they're separate companies and it was just sorta chance that both licenses must have come up for renegotation at a similar time.

Dreamworld at Movie World? Hell just froze over! Honest question, but does anyone outside of Perth and the theme park fan sites know about Abyss?

Wet 'n' Wild Sydney Construction
^Looked today, no new nearmap images. Seems spot on. That image seems somewhat misleading because the site has very few mature trees, except for in the red zones Keegz has nominated...It's all just empty land otherwise: http://goo.gl/maps/mbcib

Expansions start at Jamberoo Action Park
Throwing it out there, but you might not wa't to be too similar with the names, just in case potential visitors confuse the two ("Redback? We rode that last year right?") Then again, this is a park that has Billabong Beach and Banjos Billabong, so I wouldn't put it past them

Except for all the areas with trees.

Expansions start at Jamberoo Action Park
If I were a betting man I'd say the Behemoth bowl/tantrum combo would be next to come. (I'm surprised they are incorporating a Tantrum Alley into the bowl slide, and then the blue and green one right beside it). The pipework, start tower and provision for the splash pool are already in place, so adding it in should require the least amount of work with respect to all potential rides in the master plan. It also has the benefit of not being something not offered at WnW Sydney. Theme wise, (And if the run with the brown colour scheme illustrated and their penchant for Australian animal related names) I reckon they could call it "Eagles Nest".

How do we know it's not Murphys or WhiteWater? I thought it looked fairly similar in shape to the one at Whitewater World, and that one is a Murphys pool. 47m is what it seems to be.

Adventure World New Coaster - Abyss
For what its worth, you can see with a few of the statues they just had a single metal stake on the bottom, which was concreted into the ground, so plenty of opportunity for wobble if that's all the anchorage it has...Much like how street signs can wobble in the wind.

WnW Sydney: 93m long. 33m wide at the generator end, 112m at the beach end. Typhoon Lagoon: 119m long. 40m wide at the generator end, 100m at the beach end. Siam Park: 155m long. 34m wide at the generator end, 150m at the beach end. Wadi Adventure Al Ain: 127m long. 35m wide at the generator end, 144m at the beach end. Whitewater World: 67m long. 24m wide at the generator end, 67m at the beach end. WnW Gold Coast: 66m long. 40m wide at the generator end, 60m wide at the beach end. I reckon it'll definitley be surfable. Not a mammoth like the ones at Disney etc, but it's seems at least in the ballpark of say the one in Al Ain.

What will replace Looney Tunes River Ride?
If we're talking kids coasters at SW I wouldn't mind seeing something like Gipfelstürmer....basically a kids boomerang coaster that goes backwards and fowards. Better than a wacky worm, and at least it has a point of difference to the two other kids coasters on the GC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYrtjOFZZpU
