  1. In general, apparently there is a trend at small/regional parks to have shows out on the street. Less venue staffing costs, and it does allow flexibility.
  2. ^Can the boat even steer by itself?
  3. Patented you mean? Regardless, Vekoma and Intamin market their own versions.
  4. Percentages how do they work?
  5. Heavy? Do you even lift?
  6. Djurs Sommerland in Denmark is doing just about the closest thing at the moment, with their new Juvelen coaster: http://sphotos-b.ak....586067471_n.jpg Strangely, the ride will have a theme similar to what Slick proposed. You'll be riding these ATVs through a mayan jungle: http://sphotos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/379735_10151229752911831_277422033_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/18118_10151250545896831_604845354_n.jpg
  7. No, it's Australian labour and material prices mostly.
  8. I think they search for items at the end of the day or the in the morning before opening...They wouldn't close the whole ride in the middle of the day.
  9. Sorry but you're not really being realistic. Look at the tightness of the turns of the water slide compared to the radius you need on even a low speed kids coaster, and importantly the space from one turn to the next to change banking directions: You wouldn't be able to pick up much speed through such a tight set of turns without the lateral G forces on the coaster being too high. Also, how are you supposed to have a "thrilling rollercoaster with some loops" when the coaster is only as high as the volcano? You'd need to be starting from a height of 25-30m or so to have enough speed for inversions.
  10. But wouldn't it need trim brakes to go through such a tight set of turns. Unless it were a mouse type coaster. ...But we don't really want that for DW do we?
  11. If it followed the same course as the water slide it wouldn't be much of a decent rollercoaster though?
  12. I learned to quote stuff because people have a tendency to change what they wrote if someone calls them out.
  13. Couple of pics of the lazy/action river.
  14. Isnt that a bit "kiddy" though? For a $10 million coaster. Having been there, dragons kingdom is pretty basic...a castle archway made of besa blocks, and a collection of kids flats with gravel underneath and each ride bordered with brightly coloured pool fencing. And the rides are kinda scattered in a plain grassed area. The rides are dragon shaped cars, but in terms of being a themed kids area, its about on par with say Maloneys Corner at LPM.
  15. If you are going to get photos, it seems only the inbound side of the road is any good for photos, you cant see anything outbound on the motorway. From the road by the reservoir the containers are a long way away...I couldn't see any unpacked slide parts.
  16. Well they did talk about the mat racer didn't they? That one is going to be pretty impressive!
  17. I took a photo of the underside so you can all see how it works when I get back. Dont understand the need for brakes at all on either....Did both at full tilt and never felt remotely unstable. Park was quiet so got 100% good runs with no queue. Funnel Web is good and the spirals make you a bit dizzy.
  18. I was at the site today...couldnt see any slide bits from reservoir rd or the western motorway westbound. ..I could however see some steel staircase sections for a slide tower.
  19. There are two varieties...Ones which have a couple of plastic blocks for the back wheels, and ones which just have 4 wheels. The ones with plastic blocks means the sled can slide sideways on the turns a bit, making them less likely to crash, but the trade off is that the run needs to be steeper to overcome the increased friction.
  20. ^Yeah that. ...all 4 gates are opened at the same time on the slides by the operator so that means all lines move at the same speed (around 1 rider every 60 secs down each slide) What I noticed though early on was say 3 people queing for enclosed and 10 for the open ones, and this multiplied very quickly.
  21. I can actually refine earlier advice further...Do the open air River Rapids slides first, then the enclosed ones. The open ones seem more popular. Basically, just get in early, ride the River Rapids slides first, but keep an eye on the Constrictor queue the whole time, then move across to Constrictor when it gets a line more than one row long.
  22. My hope is that. -It's a weekday, so everyone will be at school. -Everyone will go ride the water slides first up in preference. -I can get a sled with nice and rounded friction blocks. Don't really care if anyone behind me yells at me (Unless it's a staff member)...I'll just tell them that they can leave one green light behind me and they'll have no hope of catching up. Just to be clear, the one at Jamberoo is the uncrashable type isn't it? Even if you don't brake you still don't really risk flipping right?
