  1. Again Jacko, don't just start threads for the sake of it, when there is already a perfectly good one on the subject of the happenings at Sesame St Beach. Also, Wyn, FYI. The hierarchy is: Forum > Subforum >Topic (Or 'Thread') > Reply (Or 'post')
  2. The last post in there was only a few days ago. Post in that topic!
  3. You're confusing a ride being "SBNO" (Standing but not operating), with the time it takes to actually remove a ride, when the need arises. If there is no pressing need to demolish an unwanted ride, they often just sit there. With Bermuda for instance, its not like there have been crews on site toiling away for the past couple of years. Most likely, it's just been doing nothing. Son of Beast at Kings Island has been SBNO for the past 5 years, doing not much else but rotting away for instance. http://www.rcdb.com/584.htm Rides can be knocked down in weeks.
  4. No it's not. What's Up Rock is still on Main Street. Jacko, since you are new here, just a friendly reminder to proofread your posts for proper spelling and grammar. Its a rule of the Parkz forums, and makes thing easier to read.

Still not enough memory, you'll need to download more RAM.
  6. At the time of my last visit, the car wasn't isn't even sitting in there any more.
  7. Its a bit much to say it should be scrapped, but that said, I don't think it sits anywhere near our top 3. -Superman -Green Lantern -Jet Rescue -Scooby -Surfrider -Buzzsaw -TOT2 All provide much more enjoyable experiences IMO. If the new trains manage to provide a smooth ride, then that could well catapult it up near the top. At the moment, no way. The top hat is the only real moment Superman slows down right? The rest of it you fly along.

If you put a little peninsular at the top right of the island, it would look like Australia.
  9. Cant exactly say Speed of Dreams is particularly smooth with the transitions between screen and set, can you?
  10. Looks like you are apple-ing at the moment
  11. Yeah, saw this yesterday. The floats are REALLY detailed with plenty of moving bits and bobs that are quite finely detailed. One thing in particular I liked was how the plankton float had a giant LED display on the end of a periscope, with an animated blinking eye looking out the end. At times the image would change. Couple of the songs were better than I expected (Don't really know spongebob that well, have always thought it was a little silly)...hehe "Barnacles is how you say what they say you cant say". Only bit I struggled with is not knowing all the characters voices, so sometimes I wasn't quite sure who was meant to be speaking. I like it for the fact it makes proper 'multi use' of that bit of lake at the front of the park. Jet Stunt Extreme and Spongebob Parade pants provide completely different experiences, which is a postive for such a high profile location. The Photo Store is now in that set of shops at the main entrance, and the old Photo Store/fairy penguin building is now a Nickelodeon shop. Sesame St Beach is now themed to those Generic SW characters, which to date have only been on kids T shirts (Eg the shark with floaties, the drunk looking seagull, that overly cute seal etc)...Fibreglass characters have replaced the Sesame St ones.
  12. ^Haha, I love that comment. I was thinking they had just cut out the lift hill (fair enough, but kinda pointless on a lift so quick)....But then they did it at other points too! Dear all budding videographers: When doing a POV. Keep it to onboard footage, and if you want to do offride footage, put it at the end. There is a reason TPRs POVs are so popular...Because they do exactly that. But please don't randomly interrupt the video to show us all how cool you are at matching jump cuts to the music. I'm guessing they felt dirty liking the page because thats the only way to comment.
  13. The "looping audio" is in the themed walled in bit of the queue. If the queue is back to there, you'll hear the oath, and paralaxes taunt quite frequentley.
  14. Free tip for anyone who struggles getting the harness up at the end of the ride. By far the easiest way is to hold your forearms vertically, hands facing you, then use your elbows like levers underneath the harness. Nails it every time,
  15. ^And when you go to the urinals in the park toilets on the night, do you have to say -"I'm a star, I'm a star, I'm a star, I'm a star, I'm a star, I'm a big bright shining star"?
  16. Plus its not just about coasters for me either, hence my dismissal of Six Flags / Cedar Fairs excess of coasters, and my love of Islands of Adventure and its great mix of awesome dark rides, coasters, water rides (And one crappy show ) In terms of a park turning into coaster world, well if MW were to build another coaster next year, and it wasn't family friendly, that would certainly raise my eyebrows. But at the moment we've wound up with a popular attraction, 5 years since the last big thrill, where the only negative at the moment seems to be people complaining they haven't got to ride it yet , and being competitive with Dreamworld this year is a plus.
  17. Bmull (Or anyone who rode today)...Were the onride photos working?
  18. ^Obviously that was a thinly veiled attack on me. As Ive said about 20 times, I've never had an issue with free posting, but If I disagree with what they've said then Ill reply, because that's what a forum is. If people are "afraid" to post because one of the billion or so web users might disagree with them, then obviously their issues run a bit deeper. But this is getting off topic.
  19. Ta for the pic. They did miss out on the steepest drop record, but at least they can claim for the worlds largest bug zapper.
  20. I think what he meant is that having both Sea World, and a SeaWorld Adventure Park in a country like Aus would be a bit awkward. Everyone knows they are separate companies.
  21. I don't reckon a full enclosed station was needed (Or desirable from a comfort and practicality standpoint...Throws up factors like changing the class of the building, which then implies more codes to meet), but some perforated steel or screening on the side walls would be cool.
  22. ^Might not be to the extent of potter though
  23. ^Personally, I wouldn't doubt for a second the theming on this cost much more than Buzzsaw. For starters, a giant custom electronic LED sign is going to cost way more than that spinning sawblade, which is a simple motor and sheet metal. Probably a bit more would have gone into enabling works too...Think of the cost of doing the pillared fencing around the entire ride footprint to match the existing park boundary walls, versus chainlink: http://www.parkz.com...61-Buzzsaw.html As for the rest...Well, you be the judge of what would cost more...Rusty stuff in cages and paint can light fittings, or having to sculpt various large 3D figures. Not saying Buzzsaw is badly themed or anything...It looks good, but often these old time themes can be a get out of jail free card, because they are cheap and easy to do. Builders, painters and so forth are free to do a rough job because it suits, and getting old junk is easy. But I think the nature of a theme like Green Lantern pushes the cost up even at the basic level. Its spacey etc, so everything gotta be sleek and sharp and so forth.
  24. You get tossed and turned on the end of a robotic arm for 5 mins in the dark... It IS a thrill ride. This is what Im getting at when I say you are treating all dark rides as if they are one and the same. It's not a slow boat ride like Pirates of the Carribean, nor is it a slow tracked ride like Snow white, Pinnochio etc.
