  1. By that definition, Disneys Animal Kingdom must be the worst park in the universe, since I went there in the US winter and arrived at 8am for opening, and had done it all in 2 hours.
  2. But if they haven't built an 'expensive' ride since 1995 (GD was cheap because it was tacked on the side) its been 16 years. So why would the next 16 be any different? At least VRTP has a consistent track record of doing big spend blockbuster rides.
  3. I think we're still on 3. This is the one that first appeared at LPS. The park had different ownership back then.
  4. They'd never have the budget....In any case, think of Cedar point, where Power Tower and Millenium force were both eclipsed by Top Thrill Dragster...It'd be like that.
  5. Groan...Youd still have to infill the space in between somehow, with rides shops etc over a period of time. I mean look at what they'd have to do. The closest connection point from this area by the highway, to the existing park, is where Roadrunner is. from there, its 220m: Understand now?
  6. The thing is, with the budget allowed for Buzzsaw we'd probably have gotten the basic standard model as seen at Adventure Island, Canobie Lake and Duinrell, and they are pretty meh rides. Bear in mind too that this Takashiba coaster cost as much as two B&Ms (Now that is a good "what if"!)
  7. I'm sure I could dig up earlier shots which showed this, but no time ATM. But yup, its very similar to Saw, with a mini vertical drop, and an indoor barrel roll.
  8. Fixed. But yeah, that pic is from www.nearmap.com ... Better than Google Because they update their Australian images about every 2 months.
  9. FFFFFFUUUU iPhone!
  10. Plus Ripsaw sound better anyway [\Alton Fanboy]
  11. Sorry, but that right there is the dumbest rumor I’ve ever heard on the history of this site. What theme park in the universe would put a new attraction outside the parks paid admission area on an isolated spot, on the far side of a wide car park....That would be like Dreamworld building a new attraction over at the friggen Mobil roadhouse. Try harder next time please.
  12. ^That's what I was wondering too, it did seem like you missed out on a lot of good stuff needlessly (Why no Sierra Sidewider at Knotts, Deja Vu at SFMM etc). I'm sort of with Dj, if I've outlayed say $2000 just getting across in the first place, and have the whole day at the park anyway, I try and just do everything, even stuff that might not look exciting on first impressions...I've discovered a few surprising hits that way.
  13. From memory, the seats lift up slowly when the T1000 (or whatever that spider terminator was) first appears to build up tension, and they drop at the grand finale when the T1000 gets defeated and falls...Memory is hazy, but the drop took me by surprise.
  14. I honestly reckon If I were going for a B&M here a wing coaster would be the way to go...it's kinda an invert, kinda a floorless, has wide trains like a dive machine, and just looks darn cool all around. It's recently come out that Dollywood are building a 220 ft version at the moment....I reckon it's going to be a very popular model in future years.
  15. ^Good Work mate! Looks like the crap Kids World ride names will only be a short term thing.
  16. I think you're right...Dreamworld recently registered the name Buzzsaw, so 99% sure that's the name of the new coaster: http://pericles.ipaustralia.gov.au/atmoss/falcon_details.show_tm_details?p_tm_number=1419020&p_search_no=4&p_ExtDisp=D&p_detail=DETAILED&p_rec_no=168&p_rec_all=169 You saw it first here on Parkz! (I'd hope any other sites passing on this news would attribute the original source appropriately, your conscience guys...should be a good little test)
  17. Pretty sure Pin was making fun of DWs failure to finish the theming on Shockwave before it opened.
  18. he oldest would always be the Captain Sturt Padlewheeler ....John Longhurst was the one who spent a couple of years straight working solo in a digger to create the river in which it runs.
  19. Long term strategic vision ??? Whats' your point? We already know we're getting new attractions, and one of them is well into construction now.
  20. Had me for a second...But notice one of them isn't actually bolted to the ground with plates like the other, but rather sitting on what appears to be wooden blocks. I'm guessing it will just be craned on top of the other one. Dodge...got a higher res version of the photo to possibly confirm this?
  21. From people sending info to the sites owner, Duanne.
  22. Perhaps in the discussions, link to the thing Busch gardens offers in terms of behind the thrills tours: http://buschgardens.com/Bgt/Explore/UpClose.aspx?id=1353#gotodetail http://commerce.4adventure.com/estore/scripts/skins/bgw/upclosetours.aspx
  23. Calculators don't have cameras.
  24. Plus it's more expensive to build stuff in Australia.
  25. Ooooh, thats my other free tip. Taking POV of slow/boring things, then speeding to make a timelapse them up turns something mundane into something interesting. Eg, on the Subway in LA i did this:
