  1. ^The camera might also be zoomed a bit more, which always makes stuff look slower. PS Joz, who do you think you are??? posting links to retro videos others might find interesting
  2. Even with the lights on, the thematic detail on Scooby looks really good!
  3. I quite like how the site uses the old Total Thrills/RC font in places.
  4. It's amazing isn't it, one day of TPR being here and they manage to spot all the 'politically incorrect' stuff at LPS none of us have ever posted If they don't pick up on the Whitewater World goatse, i'll be dissapointed.
  5. Looks to me like one of the many posts scattered around Blue Lagoon.
  6. Thats the nature of doing a theme park tour...Parks will always have new stuff. This is especially the case on their North American tours....They visit a lot of major parks, and at least one out of the 10 or so they visit per trip is going to have something amazing built the year after. If you 'waited' for new stuff, you'd never end up going!

  8. On the Cockburn (lol) City Council application section the following can be found: Haven't the slightest idea what it could be.
  9. Normally new rides begin construction April-May-ish...
  10. Suprised this hasn't been posted, but DW have put up the plans for the White Lion exhibit: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=101...;id=30639128612 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=101...;id=30639128612
  11. When you look at the new opaque section, you can see they have used it to put in several extra water sprayers...perhaps they decided extra lubrication was needed for the slide?
  12. Maybe you were just seeing things
  13. Bear in mind Batwing doesn't actually launch to the full 61m, so perhaps that's what they mean...That you get hoisted to a higher height on Sky coaster than riders on Batwing actually reach.
  14. Says right at the top of the page.... http://www.parkz.com.au/parks/AE/Jumeirah_...Wadi_Waterpark/
  15. Actually, the marketing for WWW says they immerse you in Aussie surfing culture, In reality, its not an immersivley themed park....Most of the place is still plain steel structures, concrete and rocks: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Gold_Coas...le_of_Huey.html This is immersive theming: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AE/Jumeirah_...-Wadi_Leap.html And so is this: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/US/Orlando/T...away_Creek.html But not this: http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AU/Gold_Coas...80-The_Rip.html Just looking at the designs for some of the buildings, it looks like it is going to have that surfing "feel" anyway. http://majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.au/f...rawings%209.pdf http://majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.au/f...awings%2010.pdf http://majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.au/f...awings%2013.pdf
  16. Ummmmm, possibly that member was making a joke, hence the animated gif in the post.
  17. Wipeout is petrol powered!!?!??
  18. Have you built the things you do have photos for though?
  19. Intamin tend to be a bit sloppier with their designs I guess, whereas B&M tend to like everything to be a bit more controlled.
  20. Yes it is. Pretty much wherever they have an airtime hill they design in a set of trims in to regulate the speed over it. Eg, check out this pic of Raptor at Gardaland, it has a trim brake on the hill already, designed in:
  21. Agreed. Time Machine/Led Zeppelin looks like everything is in too much of a straight line....It's not twisty like a proper B&M. At the same time, I've heard B&Ms hypers are pretty mediocre compared to their Intamin counterparts..
  22. Wheeeee! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9L7_OeZap9M
  23. I do indeed prefer steel, but if a park already has several steel coasters, then the case for a woodie becomes stronger....It's a balance thing.
  24. And all for $7 Million.
  25. To be fair, you could generate exactly the same forces with a woodie as you could with a steel coaster, but I guess they have a certain feel too them (out of control), and as mentioned they are cost effective compared to a steel coaster of similar scale. Plus they look nice.
