2 new rides for Dreamworld in 2011
Nate, I'm not too fussed about what people post, so long as its well written. I think there's definitely theme park sites out there with more zealous mods than us. Its not as if I went and deleted anything. We even let you say fuck if you want to on here! Was merely making a statement about originality in humour, not whether people should post or not. 300ft launched aqua-trax with wings etc....

^Cool story bro's. Now all we need is the other 5400 members of this board to come into this topic and post a outlandish derivative of reanimated35's original joke.

I think the extreme H20 Zone sort of fell in their lap though. The WnW in Brazil closed, so a whole bunch of attractions came on the market all of a sudden.- Lscia8, Cruiseshipfan and Chop2332's Warner Bros Movie World Recreation

I am a man, so therefore I don't need a straw.- 2 new rides for Dreamworld in 2011
Im thinking for 6-7 Million there are some options for "decent", proven rides: -A Eurofighter. The one at Oakwood cost 3 Million GBP, so about 6 Million AUD -A Zacspin. The one at Grona Lund cost 50 Million SEK, so about 7.7 Million AUD (They do make smaller versions though) -An Intamin Hyper Splash. The one at Holiday World cost "More than half of 8.4 Million" USD. Any of those would be decent addition....- The Off Topic Topic
THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!- Lscia8, Cruiseshipfan and Chop2332's Warner Bros Movie World Recreation
^Agreed, the resolution of the textures wont show tiny details like that, unless you want the game to run awfully slow. Plus can you even zoom in that close?- The Off Topic Topic
And I forgot this other cool sort of thing.....Vekoma now make a Junior Boomerang: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v711/cha...onstruction.jpg It's being built at Drayton Manor.- The Off Topic Topic
Thorpe park are getting a B&M Wing Rider now, with a rather awesome looking 'inversion' first drop...Basically the train does half a barrel roll at the top and then dives down a massive half loop: http://lc12.co.uk/lc12plan/LC12-Island-Birds-Eye.png http://lc12.co.uk/lc12plan/LC12-Elevation-...stSouthEast.png- Looney Toons River Ride closed
Agreed, the first thing I thought of when you said "Indiana Jones Style" was a dark ride where the vehicle is on a motion base. Eh, It could happen either way to be honest. A park might see a ride system they really like and massage a theme onto that (Eg with SAW at Thorpe park the SAW theme was finalised later in the project), or at the other end of the spectrum they could pick up a good licensed property and then devise an attraction that reflects the spirit of it well.- Dreamworld's 30th
The roundabout is about 19 car bays wide. A standard parking bay is 2800mm wide, so 53.2m for 19 cars. Thats pretty close to the 50m I measured And its a fair bit bigger than suburban roundabouts:- Dreamworld's 30th
It's correct though. I checked another way, by measuring Sea Viper and the DW amphitheatre in Google Earth, and the length of Sea Viper is indeed about the width of the amphitheatre times two. And that roundabout is a huge one...50m wide! So not too hard to believe.- Dreamworld's 30th
Ghostrider is definitley one of the worst out there, so I can see how it left a bad impression.- Sea World 2010 (Castaway Bay & Antarctic Penguins)
Were they doing any painting at all? When it opened they never quite finished the wood texture on many of the posts.- Dreamworld's 30th
I'll bite too. Have you ridden any newer ones (Ie other than the one at Luna Park or Wonderland) Because many of the newer ones like Terminator/Apocalypse are smooth, and are pretty friggen amazing rides overall. So in conclusion, a wooden coaster would have no complaints from me- Creating Space at Movieworld
So why did you suggest filling in the lake- Creating Space at Movieworld
Wouldn't that damage quite a bit of habitat.....I wouldn't support it anyway.- The Off Topic Topic
...And we have our first look (albeit from afar) at B&Ms new wing walker style trains: http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x268/wi.../webimage1j.jpg- Looney Toons River Ride closed
In my super expert architectural opinion ( ) I quite like the solution they came up with. Beautifully minimalist, like something out of contemporary Japan. In that location, a "themed" design like making it look like an oversized iceberg (Like the Frozen Coke shop at WnW) would have looked absolutely tacky.- Dreamworld maintenance building
^But I mean at the same time, "shit happens" and you can be stuck at work until the problem is solved and the task is done (This could easily happen at a theme park if something had to be fixed by the next day) Bear in mind theme parks often do stuff at night when the guests are out of the way. Forgive me if I sounded abrupt, but often you get teenagers etc posting who haven't been out in the real world where late nights stuck at work can happen.- Dreamworld maintenance building
Out of interest, have you ever had a job before? Yeah, that has to be it!- Disk'o' for Aussie World
First things first, I didn't have my camera with me, so no pics. But a red and black Zampera Disk'o' is in pieces in a fenced off area of the Aussie World car park (North of the entrance). It will be the 24 person version according to the sticker on the parts. The colour scheme was red and black, so my bet is that it will be themed to a red back spider. Any Sunshine Coast locals who want to go and grab some pics? - 2 new rides for Dreamworld in 2011
