  1. I wonder if that will be the blue lagoon replacement attraction, i mean for DW an attraction doesnt have to even be in a themed area to be considered a part of it (Eg Farmyard Friends).
  2. I never realized you could copyright something you copied from someone else. Thanks for the articles though.
  3. Well arent you exaggerating yourself? i went back in January on the red train, and while it did bump you a bit, it didnt give a day long earache.
  4. Well WWW is also putting in a wave pool and raft slides, you could argue that they are copying WnW by doing that, why aren't you? As i have said a few times, nowdays a tornado is waterpark "must have", even if your competiton has one. Its a bit like how basically all major water parks have a wave pool, or a water playground with a tipping bucket, or 2 man raft slides, or a lazy river. A tornado is just another one of these standard attractions.
  5. Where did they cut her in half? On another note, did you see what sort of rafts they had. I have my fingers crossed we dont see any of those whirly wheels.
  6. Hey Zoggy, any chance of you making your siggy smaller, its way to wide and throws the whole website out of alignment.
  7. I doubt it, they havent even got a website up and running yet, but i imagine it would be no more than WnW entry, if not cheaper.
  8. Here you go, It seems to me like WnW has gone full circle with the extreme H20 zone, they got rid of a speed slide only to replace it again. Its the same deal with river rapids being removed and then replaced with sidewinders. Even Black Hole is really just a bare and compact version of Terror Canyon 1/2. Not that any of these rides are bad or anything, though it will be nice to have tornado to provide something new.
  9. Oh well, looked close enough, thought i bet somewhere they will have the announcements. IMO a better approach would be to have a 1.2x2.5m sign mounted on a turn on the stairs on the way up, use really big writing, and a huge warning triangle with a symbol for shallow water, and a yellow and black danger stripe border. There is no way anyone could ignore that, and it would communicate the message loud and clear.
  10. Isn't that a good thing??? Gooooo MW! What people seem to be forgetting is that allthough a new waterpark is going to open, people arent necessarily going to go to DW just because there is a waterpark there, in other words DW wont really benefit attendance wise, but WWW will. So saying DW doesnt need a new ride this year is a bit like saying that the opening of the extreme H20 zone at WnW means MW (next door) doesn't need a new ride for now. DW still has to stand on its own feet. And while DW doesnt need a coaster, they could definitley do with one since they are well behind MW in the coaster department, and it has been a while since their last new one.
  11. Well technically they are from the past since they were not taken in the present and future.
  12. You could have clicked "More Options", if you wanted to add an attachment without retyping your post.
  13. Yeah, its what you call spamming.
  14. F******************************************** Ned Flanders: Well thats the loudest profanity i've ever heard.
  15. Gee you're a bit slow mate.
  16. Well, it was always inevitable but its no real loss since its just progress and we are getting a better replacement anyway. Though one bad thing is the fact Australia now no longer has any tobbogan slides. Hopefully BB wont be back and that will leave that whole side of the park free to be developed.
  17. But who says you have to sacrafice good theming for loading convenience? I know its just a drop ride, but i disagree, i love good theming on anything and i dont feel they would be over doing it by theming it well, and while i wouldnt expect anything up to WWF or SDSC, the loading area should still look good, and the queue should have decent theming since its lower capacity could cause longer lines than their other thrill rides.
  18. Yeah you will because you would be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Tornados have a theme ? In that case all tornados would be grey. Personally with the colours lime green should be put with the dark green. Yup, they will send back the ride they paid for and pull up the footers and supports. Meh, tornados are better anyway.
  19. Yay, speakers, guys "THE SPLASH DOWN POOL IS SHALLOW!" What are these in the background? i thought they were concrete pipes, but arent they normally circular and not cut in half? Plus it seems that some of them are stacked on top each other like this: (( but vertically.
  20. I personally dont mind if its a small space, as has been mentioned it will improve the ride to be close to SE. There is also the advantage of having less area that they have to worry about theming, so they could concerntrate on details etc.
  21. More News! The wave pool is being built by Scottish company Murphys Waves (They also built outback bay at Jamberoo) it will be 25m wide and will be a "Boogie Pool" ( http://www.wavesltd.co.uk/Products/boogie.htm ) , so this means we should be able to bodyboard in it like the flowrider, but in real waves. This is looking good as the example shown on the website has some nice looking waves that break, and not just bob. See http://www.wavesltd.co.uk/news.htm
  22. Have you ever ridden one? But anyway, i think the ride will feel similar to the claw, its just that there is a track below you rather than a pendulum arm above you. And of course the seats spin, so it would have to be somewhere near the Claw, though maybe a bit less intense. Still, i think they are a cool little ride. Oh and i cant imagine a little coaster like that being "heaps of money", its got, what, 50m of track? And why does everyone say SW is boring, i managed to fill a full day without seeing all the shows and only riding everything once. The exhibits were great and it was nice to be able to see something without a line. Makes me wonder why these people visit in the first place, do people just visit it so they can get bored and complain after? Or do they dislike animals?
  23. i was thinking they would either be some sort of shade sail structure, or something to do with the theming, like tribal totem poles or something.
  24. Im actually inclined to agree, thrills dont really fit in at SW, if anything the rides there need to be of broad appeal, though I still think the ride will be cool.
  25. Good photos Rich, or should I say Tony (whoever took them anyway) They give a really good feel for the park. My thoughts. -It looks as though we are getting a "long" Tornado with extra turns at the start, so that could give them and ege over WnWs offering -I dont think the slide under the tornado would neccesarily be smaller by the size of the support, i think the reason the canteleiver is smaller is because the slides curvature wont actuall be centered around the column. -I think it was a waste to only have 3 slides off T1, since there is space for a 4th. Maybe in the future this space could be used for a cannon bowl raft slide. -The T2 splashdown area pic seems to have a large raft return running across it. And what the hell is the guy in the cherry picker trying to access. -I love the red colour for the slides, looks better than the effort so far, but i dont think they are for T2 as they are too narrow for the tornado. -T3 has ugly colours, i mean LILAC! though it looks nice and tall. -I have a theory on the Architectural style of the entrance, it reminds me of a service station canopy. Im going to bet that the vertical part will have a big coloured graphic extending along it. -Im going to go straight out and say the second tower attraction will be an uphill slide, In the very last pic of the gallery just look at the supports. They are the afformentioned T bar support (as opposed to the curved type around the bottom of a standard flume), which would suit the flat bottomed conveyor belt flume section. You can also see that the supports along the carpark edge go tall, low, tall. Ill bet you that there is a small "valley" support that is obscured by the truck.
